Abstract

This study uses a quasi-experimental design to examine the effectiveness of a flipbook-based blended learning method on student learning outcomes at SMPN 3 Banjarmasin. Participants included an experimental group (n=30) utilizing the flipbook-based method and a control group (n=31) using traditional approaches. Pre-test and post-test assessments measured learning outcomes. Results showed that the experimental group significantly outperformed the control group, achieving an average post-test score of 85.97 compared to 75.90, with a mean difference of 10.06 (p < 0.001). ANCOVA analysis demonstrated the learning method's significant impact on post-test scores (F = 15.508, p < 0.001), independent of pre-test performance (F = 0.032, p = 0.860). Residual analysis raised concerns about the assumptions of linearity and normal distribution, warranting further validation of the model. The learning method accounted for 25% of post-test score variability, suggesting the influence of additional factors. These findings affirm the method's effectiveness and call for comprehensive model assessments in educational studies.

Abstract

Online learning started with the emergence of Internet technology and has been increasingly used during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it has raised many problems, such as limitations in presenting material (monotonous and uninteresting), building activeness, and difficulty creating interaction between lecturers and students and between students. Moreover, online learning is more stressful than regular classroom sessions because students have to study alone. The absence of clearly structured learning steps makes it difficult for them to focus. Therefore, this research aims to develop an independent online learning module based on ubiquitous classrooms with a structured and systematic flow called Introduce, Connect, Apply, Reflect, and Extend (ICARE). Furthermore, it determines the eligibility of the module using an ADDIE design for education, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. All stages resulted in an eligible online module with an u-learning class ICARE flow in the Learning Media course.

Abstract

This research integrates Islamic values with literacy skills so students understand religious knowledge and apply these values in everyday life. This research analyzes literacy-based learning management strategies in Islamic elementary education and identifies supporting and inhibiting factors. This research uses a literature study method to analyze literacy-based learning management in Islamic education at elementary schools. The research results show that literacy-based Islamic education learning management significantly increases students' interest in reading and writing. Islamic-based literacy hones reading and writing skills and helps students internalize Islamic texts' moral and spiritual values. These increased literacy skills strengthen students' abilities to analyze, organize ideas, and apply insights in everyday life. Apart from that, Islamic-based literacy contributes to developing student characteristics such as honesty, responsibility, and empathy.

Abstract

This study explores the optimization of User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) in e-learning platforms to enhance user engagement and satisfaction. Using a qualitative case study approach, observations and interviews were conducted to identify user challenges. The findings reveal that an intuitive UI and positive UX significantly improve the efficiency of online learning. However, issues such as server reliability and accessibility barriers for students with disabilities remain challenges. This study highlights the need for inclusive and responsive UI/UX design to foster an effective online learning ecosystem. Recommendations are provided for platform developers to address these shortcomings, ensuring a more accessible and seamless experience for students, educators, and administrators, particularly in higher education. The results serve as a foundation for further improvements in e-learning platform design and implementation.

Abstract

VR technology is changing the world of education by providing immersive and interactive learning experiences. This study develops LaViGeo, a VR-based learning media designed using the MilleaLab application to enhance learning in tourism resource materials. This study follows the ADDIE development model, consisting of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This study involved 21 students in the Geography of Transportation and Tourism course, selected randomly. Data were collected using a validation questionnaire for material and media experts, as well as a student response survey. The results is LaViGeo was very feasible and effective to use from expert assessments and through trials with students. The integration of multimedia elements, learning videos, 360-degree images and interactive features can be accepted by students for concept materials related to tourism geography. There are challenges in the form of direct integration of 360-degree YouTube videos and limited trials so that further research is needed regarding wider implementation and optimization.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and validate an SRL questionnaire for undergraduate EFL students using Research and Development (R&D) approach with a simplified 3D model (define, design, and develop). The instrument assesses three key dimensions of SRL based on Zimmerman's theoretical framework: cognitive, motivational, and behavioral. Content validity was established through expert review, followed by a pilot study with 30 students. Pearson product-moment correlation confirmed item validity, all items exceeded r= 0.361 (p<0.05). Furthermore, the reliability analysis, using Cronbach's alpha, yielded a coefficient of 0.964, surpassing the acceptable threshold of 0.700. These findings collectively indicate that the developed SRL questionnaire possesses strong psychometric properties, making it valid and reliable instrument for measuring self-regulated learning among EFL students. This instrument enables educators to identify student strengths and weaknesses, informing targeted interventions and promoting autonomous learning practices among EFL students.

Abstract

Multiculturalism is the most appropriate term to describe diversity in schools. Ethnic, religious, racial and gender diversity are recognized in educational practices involving teachers and students. This article aims to analyze the practice of multiculturalism in schools, exploring the various driving factors and barriers faced by teachers and students. This descriptive research used a phenomenological approach, data was obtained from 35 students and teachers using interviews and Google Forms. Data were analyzed by reduction, description, and conclusion based on the identification of significant themes. The main areas of multicultural categorization in vocational high schools: gender equality in educational practices, differences between rural and urban geographical backgrounds, socio-economic disparities, and educational content provided by educators. Muhammadiyah schools in Yogyakarta do not seem to have optimally implemented gender-equity-based multiculturalism. This study highlights the gender injustice to societal constructs, economic disparities that affect educational experiences, and geographical background of students.
