Jurnal Teknologi dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (TEKIBA) urnal Teknologi dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (TEKIBA) adalah jurnal ilmiah multidisiplin yang diterbitkan oleh Fakultas Teknik Universitas PGRI Banyuangi dengan nomor registrasi ISSN 2776-947X. Jurnal ini berkaitan dengan informasi tentang gagasan, implementasi serta pencapaian dari kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat. Publikasi jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menyebarluaskan pemikiran atau gagasan konseptual dan hasil penelitian yang telah dicapai di bidang pengabdian kepada masyarakat. TEKIBA memuat berbagai kegiatan tenaga pengajar di Universitas PGRI Banyuangi dalam menangani dan mengelola berbagai potensi, hambatan, tantangan, dan permasalahan yang ada di masyarakat. Abstract

This article discusses safety regulations during the welding process to reduce the risk of workplace accidents, long-term health consequences, and improve the quality of finished products. The study examines various international safety regulations, practical safety measures, and incidents involving welding. An important first step in increasing employee awareness and understanding of the potential risks that may arise during the welding process is safety socialization. Risks associated with welding include exposure to UV light, hazardous gases, sparks and high temperatures, which, if not managed appropriately, can jeopardize worker health and safety. Therefore, to ensure the best possible implementation of occupational safety standards, organized teaching initiatives through outreach are required. Personal protective equipment (PPE), safe work practices, handling of dangerous goods, risk mitigation and emergency response training are examples of socialization activities. A thorough understanding of welding safety is believed to reduce the number of workplace accidents, increase output, and make the workplace safer. This community service focuses on conducting welding and work safety training for home welding workshop businesses in Balak Village, Songgon District, Banyuwangi Regency. The application of safety standards to the welding process aims to evaluate the effectiveness of welding safety socialization in improving workers' compliance with safety procedures, while providing recommendations for optimizing future training programs.

Abstract

The use of electro-pneumatic learning media at SMKN 9 Makassar holds great potential to enhance students' understanding in the field of electrical engineering. However, teachers at the school have not yet been able to fully utilize this media, primarily due to limited technical knowledge. Although electro-pneumatic devices are available at the school, only a few teachers are capable of operating them independently, resulting in minimal use of this technology in teaching and learning activities. Through this community service initiative, these challenges faced by teachers are addressed through systematic training that includes both theoretical instruction and hands-on practice. The training is conducted in several stages, from field orientation to demonstration and simulation, enabling teachers not only to familiarize themselves with electro-pneumatic technology but also to apply it in daily classroom teaching. This training aims to increase teacher professionalism and effectively utilize electro-pneumatic media to create an interactive and practical learning environment.

Abstract

This mentoring activity aims to improve the physical fitness of the community through traditional stilt sports in Jambangan Village, Surabaya City. Stilts, as part of Indonesia's cultural heritage, have the potential to train balance, muscle strength, endurance, as well as the focus and concentration of its players. This program includes providing materials on physical fitness, correct stilt playing reflexology techniques, and direct practice sessions for participants. The results of the activity show that community participation in stilt games can improve their physical fitness while strengthening a sense of togetherness and awareness of the importance of preserving traditional culture. In addition, stilts are also a means of education for the younger generation to learn about traditional games that are beneficial for health. This program is expected to be able to create an active community that continues to develop traditional sports as part of a healthy lifestyle and local culture

Abstract

Bletok Village is one of the villages in Bungatan District, Situbondo Regency. The main problem in Bletok Village is the lack of understanding regarding PIRT licensing and how to perform digital marketing, as well as the low selling value of their local products. In general, products that have P-IRT licenses have a positive impact on MSME producers in Bletok Village, such as making their product to be easily marketed or distributed legally and expanding consumer reach. The purpose of this community service program is to provide solutions related to the problems faced by the people of Bletok Village, in the form of socializing the understanding of pirt licensing and the digitalization of MSME products in Bletok Village, Situbondo District. The method used is through surveys and outreach. The results obtained from this program is for the MSME community to be able to receive and comprehend information related to PIRT licensing and digital marketing.

Abstract

Community service activities were implemented to enhance the understanding and application of electrical installation standards in Bantaeng Regency, Indonesia, by supporting the achievement of SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy. In this regard, a series of activities, such as presentations, field audits, and practical training, were conducted for the residents of Bantaeng Regency on the importance of compliance with PUIL. The findings showed that there is a big difference between the existing practice of electrical installation and the recommended standard. This project seeks to address this issue in pursuit of better energy efficiency, safety, and reliability for local households. These activities also profiled several challenges to the promotion of electrical safety, such as inequalities in public awareness and resource limitation. Despite these challenges, such activities show how community-based initiatives could be applied to broader goals of sustainable energy access. Future activities might consider the long-term impact of such interventions and identify ways in which these efforts may be scaled up.

Abstract

This study aims to achieve several results that contribute to improving the community's ability regarding welding techniques that are currently in great demand by various industries. The method used is a qualitative method with observation used to understand in depth how SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) electric welding skills are developed in vocational high school students. The sample in this study was the Community Service Activity Implementation Team for the Development of SMAW Electric Welding Skills for Vocational High School (SMK) Students at the Surabaya Aviation Polytechnic Workshop in the 2024 Fiscal Year consisting of 16 people, the results of the study showed that the Development of SMAW Electric Welding Skills has improved the abilities of students of SMK Penerbangan AAG Yogyakarta, SMK Penerbangan Angkasa Lanud Iswahjudi Magetan, SMK Penerbangan Angkasa Malang, even providing new experiences for students from the Computer and Network Engineering department. Based on the results of the activity, the participants showed significant progress in knowledge and skills. Increasing knowledge and skills through the approach of educational materials and technical training provided, participants in this activity have learned the benefits, placement, procedures and how to use SMAW Electric welding correctly and safely. Almost all participants of this activity agreed that SMAW Electric Welding can help improve skills both in education and industry. Empowerment of Aviation Vocational School students in developing SMAW Electric Welding skills is expected to be applied in various industrial fields by providing several examples of how to use SMAW Electric Welding.

Abstract

Organization is a process of identifying, forming, team working, defining and delegating authority, responsibility and establishing relationships with the aim of enabling people to work together effectively towards set goals. Strengthening the organization is one of the goals of forming members who have knowledge, skills and mentality in accordance with the vision and mission of Green Campus organization. Training is the first step to provide an in-depth understanding of the values, culture and basic skills needed by members of an organization. One of effective way to improve the quality and capacity of human resources in an organization is through basic education and basic training. In training, new members are trained to understand the roles, responsibilities, technical and non-technical skills that are relevant to the organization's goals. Thus training is not just technical training, but also a process of mental strengthening, emotional and intellectual strength of its members. Through this activity, it can make the members of organizations become competent, professional and have high integrity, so that they are able to face future challenges more prepared and confident. The method used in implementing this community service consists of three stages, namely: planning, implementing mentoring, and evaluating the results of mentoring. In this community service activity there were 10 participants. In this evaluation there are four aspects namely: (1) Usefulness, (2) Understandability, (3) Strengthening methods, and (4) Suitability. So, it can be concluded that this activity really hit the targets or participants as shown by the evaluation results with an average score is very good (86.20%), and good (13.80%).

Abstract

Electric Maternity Belt for monitoring fetal and pregnant women well-being project is an initiative aimed at addressing the issue of inadequate fetal health monitoring in remote or underserved areas. Many expectant mothers face challenges in accessing timely prenatal care, which increases the risks of complications during pregnancy. This project developed an innovative, affordable, and easy-to-use maternity belt equipped with sensors to monitor the fetal heart rate, movement, and uterine contractions, providing real-time data to healthcare providers. The method involves collaboration with local health centers to test and refine the prototype. The maternity belt was introduced to rural clinics and tested on a sample of pregnant women, with training sessions for healthcare staff on how to operate the device. The results showed that the device successfully detected fetal abnormalities, allowing for early intervention and reducing maternal anxiety. Moreover, it contributed to the improvement of healthcare access by enabling remote monitoring, even in areas with limited medical resources. The primary output of this project is a functional prototype that can be mass-produced and distributed to remote areas, helping to ensure the safety of both mother and baby. The project’s contribution lies in its ability to bridge the gap between modern healthcare technology and rural communities, providing an affordable, efficient, and reliable solution for maternal and fetal health monitoring.

Abstract

Pest control in onion fields has become a major challenge for farmers, particularly in the Dringu area of Probolinggo, where there is a heavy reliance on chemical pesticides. The use of pesticides has negative impacts on the environment and health, while also increasing production costs. This study aims to implement UV and LED lighting technology as a more environmentally friendly and efficient solution for pest control. Through this community service initiative, UV and LED lights were installed at several strategic points in the onion fields with the goal of attracting pest insects and reducing crop damage. The results showed a decrease in pest populations by 30-40%, a reduction in pesticide use by up to 60%, and an improvement in the quality of onion harvests. This technology also provides energy efficiency, reduces long-term operational costs, and enhances agricultural sustainability. Furthermore, the training provided to farmers helped improve their understanding and skills in operating this technology. Abstract

Garahan Village, located in Silo District, Jember Regency, is known for its community-based coffee production. However, the local farmers continue to face significant challenges in marketing their coffee products beyond the village level. The lack of knowledge and skills in digital marketing strategies has resulted in limited market access and low product competitiveness. This community service program was designed to address these challenges by enhancing the marketing capabilities of local coffee farmers through the conceptualization and implementation of a digital marketing model. The ultimate goal is to support sustainable food security by strengthening the economic resilience of coffee farmers. The activities in this program involved a series of stages, including preliminary surveys to identify key problems, direct observations, educational outreach on the importance of digital marketing, hands-on training in social media utilization and online marketplace platforms, and continuous monitoring and evaluation of the implementation process. The main partners of this initiative were members of the local coffee farmer group in Garahan Village. The results of the program indicate a significant improvement in the partners’ understanding and application of digital marketing tools. Prior to the intervention, only 10% of participants were familiar with digital marketing; this figure rose to 85% after the training sessions. Moreover, digital-based coffee sales increased by 40% within three months following the intervention. These outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness of the community engagement approach in addressing local agricultural marketing issues. Key outputs of the program include the establishment of social media accounts and online storefronts for coffee products, increased farmer capacity in managing digital promotion, and the production of a simple digital marketing guidebook for sustainable use.
