Abstract

Kenep Village is a final disposal site which has waste problems and is less than optimal in management. The incoming waste comes from household waste in 11 sub-districts and market waste in Pasuruan Regency with a weight of about 1152 tons/day, while the waste that can be managed reaches 65 tons per day. Therefore, efforts are needed to handle waste from the household level so as not to add to the pile of garbage in the landfill, namely by training in composting which aims to provide education to the community, especially housewives, so that households use kitchen waste to be used as compost. The stages of training include planning, implementation, and reporting. At the planning stage, coordination was carried out with the head of the hamlet, the head of the RT, and the head of the Klaras toga group. In addition, the preparation of tools and materials as well as the manufacture of Edukit was carried out. At the implementation stage, composting training was carried out at the toga park of the Green Eleven Housing. In the implementation stage, compost checks were also carried out every three days and compost multiplication. At the reporting stage, it is done by making activity reports, articles published in the mass media, and service articles. From this training, there was an increase in knowledge and understanding of housewives related to composting based on the questionnaires that had been distributed.

Abstract

Currently, many teaching resources have not fully understood how to write and submit to a journal. This can be attributed to various factors, such as a lack of training or experience in journal writing, a greater focus on teaching or research activities, or limited opportunities to engage in journal writing communities. Therefore, this workshop aims to enhance the capacity of teaching resources in writing and publishing research and community service in national journals. The implementation method consists of preparation, activity execution, mentoring, and evaluation stages. The results of the activity evaluation show that 80% of participants have improved their abilities to comprehend the structure of scientific journals, writing ethics, effective writing techniques, and 100% of participants are capable of drafting journals according to environmental style guidelines. Measured capacity development of teaching resources enables them to write journals in accordance with the guidelines of each publisher, avoiding rejection. Furthermore, the ability to understand the Open Journal System (OJS) application during submission is essential for teaching resources to publish in nationally accredited journals.

Abstract

The utilization of apple plant waste as a natural dye extract is important for the development of creative products using safer dye materials. Madiredo, as an apple cultivation economic zone, produces waste from the apple processing process. This apple plant waste can be utilized as a high-value dye extract using ecoprint techniques or combined with batik. This initiative is expected to foster the creativity of women in the Madiredo village PKK (Family Welfare Movement) to achieve economic independence. In further development, it will also be innovated with Madiredo's distinctive motifs while highlighting the cultural potential of Madiredo. Additionally, the use of natural dyes in textile products can address the issues arising from the use of synthetic dyes, which, unbeknownst to many, have the potential to cause environmental pollution. Furthermore, this serves as a means of cultural promotion and branding for Madiredo Village. The outcomes of this partnership program include the utilization and processing of apple plant waste and Madiredo Village's natural resources, as well as the development of environmentally friendly textile product designs to enhance the economic well-being of the partner community. Additionally, the results of this community service program are presented not only in the form of a final report but also as scientific publications in national journals or proceedings. Abstract

PKK as social organization aims to improve family welfare. This can be done by empowering women. One of the efforts to empower women is to increase knowledge and skills that will enable them to be independent and contribute to improving family welfare. Entrepreneurship training is one of the appropriate training given to PKK members. From th team’s observation, PKK in RT 03 RW 4 Tunjungsekar Village still needs more positive activities for its members. The lack of training activities given to the members has encouraged the team to carry out the community service for PKK RT 03 members. Entrepeneurship training was chosen because it is appropriate skill to be given to them because many of them are housewives and especially to those who live in the small alleys. Those who live along the kampong street, some have tried to open business such as selling food and drinks, and groceries. This entrepreneurship training is expected will increase their knowledge, motivation and skills to open a business to improve their family welfare. After the workshops were conducted especially the one dealt with the use of social media and internet in business, the participants looked satisfied and expected that the team would carry out such workshop in the following years. Abstract

Halal cullinare has become a necessity, especially in tourist areas. Therefore, halal certification is required, especially in locations with a majority non-Muslim population. Besides ensuring halal status, halal certification also serves as a means to promote local cullinare promising economic growth for the local community while preserving the rich culinary heritage. This community service project focuses on three villages on the slopes of Mount Bromo, namely Ngadiwono Village, Tlogosari, and Mojorejo. The program took place on June 25-26, 2023, with a primary focus on the Tosari Village rest area, in collaboration with the Baladaun community, local tourism communities (Pokdarwis), women's organizations (ibu-ibu PKK), and local SMEs (UMKM).
