Natural Science Education Research atau NSER adalah sarana publikasi ilmiah yang dikelola oleh Program Studi Pendidikan IPA, Universitas Trunojoyo Madura. Publikasi yang meliputi artikel ilmiah hasil dari penelitian. NSER tebit 3 kali dalam satu tahun yang meliputi: 1) NSER Jorrnal yang terbit pada bulan Maret dan Juli dan 2) Conference Series terbit bulan November. Fokus NSER adalah publikasi penelitian pendidikan dalam bidang IPA baik dalam bentuk penelitian kualitatif, kuantitatif, pengembangan, R and D, atau mixed methods. Abstract

The problem of low critical thinking skills of students is thought to be caused by the lack of teaching materials that facilitate direct science experiments. This study aims to improve students' critical thinking skills through teaching materials that have been produced, namely e-worksheets integrated PhET. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Kamal in the 2024/2025 academic year. The type of research used is Research and Development (RD). The research design applied used One Group pretest-posttest Design. This study shows an increase in students' critical thinking skills after implementing e-worksheets integrated PhET with an average N-Gain of 0.62 which is included in the moderate criteria. The conclusion in this study is that there is an increase in critical thinking skills after learning using e-worksheets integrated PhET. The use of e-worksheets integrated PhET is very effective and innovative in learning the independent curriculum for class VIII on vibrations, waves, and light.

Abstract

This development research aims to produce an ethnoscience-based booklet on jenang ayas snacks and to determine the validity, readability, student responses and improvement of science literacy towards ethnoscience-based booklets. This type of Research n Development (RnD) research, using the ADDIE model. Sampling using a side purposive teahnique. The population in this study were all students of class VIII of SMP 31 Gresik with a sample of class VIII-C. The instrument used were validation sheets media, material experts, readability questionnaires, responses, and science literacy questions. The result of the study showed that the ethnoscience-based booklet on jenang ayas snacks that was developed was included in the very valid category for use, seen from the results of media expert validation of 94,03%, material expert validation of 96,53%, readability questionnaire of 88,92%, student response questionnaire of 88,45%, and an increase in science literacy on N-Gain of 0,69. These result indicate that ethnoscience-based booklets on jenang ayas snacks is effective in improving student’s science literasy.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA berbasis lingkungan efektif terhadap peningkatan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa. Penggunaan media belajar secara tepat (bijak) dapat membantu dalam pembelajaran IPA berbasis lingkungan. Sumber belajar yang digunakan dapat berbantuan media belajar alami (belajar langsung dengan alam) maupun berupa media belajar artifisial (belajar melalui perantara alat atau teknologi). Desain penelitian berupa tinjauan pustaka terhadap artikel yang terbit pada periode 2021 sampai April 2025. Hasil yang diperoleh bahwa terdapat 27 artikel mengenai pembelajaran IPA berbasis lingkungan. Media belajar alami meliputi lingkungan alam seperti taman sekolah, greenhouse, tempat wisata, adat-istiadat atau budaya dan siswa dibawa langsung serta belajar langsung dengan lingkungan sekelilingnya. Media belajar artifisial adalah media produk teknologi atau lainnya seperti lembar kerja, modul, buku, majalah, komik baik elektronik maupun non elektronik, website, augmented reality dan virtual reality, yang mana semua produk tersebut kontennya dapat mengadopsi dari kehidupan nyata (media alami). Berdasarkan analisis SWOT, terdapat kelemahan baik sumber belajar berbantuan media alami maupun buatan.

Abstract

Education has an important role in shaping individuals who are smart, skilled and moral. However, the quality of education in Indonesia still faces various challenges, especially in terms of learning effectiveness and curriculum relevance. Problems found in the environment of Tadris IPA UIMSYA students, especially in learning the Anatomy of Animal Physiology course, include the busy activities of boarding schools, limited time and access to information, and low student motivation to learn. This has an impact on learning outcomes that are less than optimal. Therefore, innovative solutions are needed in learning. One of the proposed solutions is to combine the mind mapping method as a learning medium combined with the TGT (Teams Games Tournament) cooperative learning model, this combination is believed to increase student understanding and activeness in learning. The research method used is quantitative by using experimental method. The results proved that the learning intervention had a significant positive impact on improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study was conducted because students' HOTS is still relatively low because students are still unable to follow the HOTS learning pattern. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in students' HOTS after the application of the PBL model assisted by KOKAMI media on the Earth and Solar System material. This study used a quasi-experimental design method and was carried out at SMPN 1 Pasean. The study population was all grade VII students in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique. The sample used was class VII-A. The analysis technique for increasing students' HOTS used the N-gain test. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in students' HOTS after the application of the PBL model assisted by KOKAMI with an average n-gain result of 0.71 in the high category.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini terfokus pada evaluasi mutu setiap item soal dengan topik “Zat dan perubahannya” dalam Pembelajaran IPA di SMPN 2 Ampelgading tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Evaluasi dalam pembelajaran penting untuk menilai pencapaian tujuan Pendidikan secara menyeluruh, termasuk aspek kognitif, keterampilan, dan sikap ilmiah siswa, sesuai tuntutan literasi sains abad ke-21. Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif kualittatif digunakan, melibatkan 30 siswa kelas VII D. Instrumen berupa 30 soal pilihan ganda divalidasi secara kualitatif oleh enam ahli dan diuji validitas isi menggunakan indeks Aiken's V. Analisis kuantitatif dilakukan dengan Program Iteman 4.3 berdasarkan teori tes klasik. Hasil validasi menunjukkan seluruh soal memiliki nilai Aiken's V ≥ 0,89, menandakan validitas isi sangat baik. Namun analisis lebih lanjut menunjukkan beberapa masalah yang bermasalah, terutama dalam daya pembeda dan tingkat kesukaran. Misalnya, soal nomor 2 memiliki daya beda negatif dan tingkat kesukaran sangat tinggi. Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya revisi redaksi dan penyesuaian tingkat kompleksitas soal agar sesuai dengan kemampuan siswa. Penelitian ini menunjukkan pentingnya pengembangan instrumen evaluasi yang tidak hanya valid secara konten, tetapi juga empiris efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPA yang kontekstual dan mendorong keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Kata Kunci: Analisis, daya beda, tingkat kesukaran

Abstract

This study was conducted because of the low mastery of student concepts caused by the lack of variation in learning models and media. This study aims to determine the increase in student concept mastery after the TGT model assisted by snakes and ladders media is applied. This study is a quantitative study using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This study was conducted at UPTD SMP Negeri 3 Bangkalan with a sample of class VII D. The research data collection technique used a concept mastery test. The data analysis technique used was the N-Gain test. The results of the study that can be concluded are that there is an increase in student concept mastery as evidenced by the average N-Gain score of 0.47 which is categorized as moderate.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman konsep pada materi pemanasan global dan motivasi belajar siswa dengan penerapan aplikasi Kahoot. Penelitian menggunakan metode mix method di SMPN 1 Mlonggo dengan menggunakan purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 1 kelas yaitu kelas VII B berjumlah 32 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrument tes pilihan ganda dua tingkat untuk mengetahui pemahaman konsep siswa, instrument angket jenis skala likert unruk mengetahui motivasi belajar dan instrument wawancara untuk mendukung informasi data. Teknik analisis data kuantitatif menggunakan rumus persentase sedangkan data kualitatif menggunakan Miles dan Huberman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa memiliki persentase rata-rata sebesar 62.29% dengan kategori sedang, (2) motivasi belajar siswa memiliki rata-rata sebesar 68.29% dengan kategori sedang.

Abstract

Keterampilan Proses Sains identik dengan keterampilan yang mendukung pada penguasaan konsep dan pemikiran reflektif dalam pemecahan masalah sehingga memungkinkan individu untuk berkembang secara kreatif dan berdaya saing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan tingkat KPS pe kelas XI SMA Negeri 16 Semarang. Penilaian dilakukan hanya mencakup enam indikator KPS. Sejumlah 40 siswa menjadi subjek penelitian. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Data diperoleh melalui tes keterampilan proses sains. Hasil tes menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata KPS yang dimiliki siswa masih terklasifikasi sebagai kurang memadai, karena nilai nilai rata-rata sebesar 27,6. Berdasarkan analisis data dideskripsikan kemampuan analisis siswa pada indikator mengamati 30, klasifikasi 13.75, menginterpretasi 23.75, mengajukan pertanyaan 36.88,  menerapkan konsep 25, serta menggunakan alat dan bahan 36.25 dengan keseluruhan termasuk kriteria kurang memadai.
