Abstract

The effects of pregnancy on dental and oral health include pregnancy gingivitis caused by increased concentrations of the hormones estrogen and progesterone in the continuation of gingival inflammation which is considered to affect fetal growth both through systemic infections (hematogens) and increased inflammatory mediators that cause low birth weight and premature babies. This community service aims to provide practical information that can be applied directly by pregnant women in preventing and treating gingivitis. The method of community service will be given face to face. The targets are pregnant women and posyandu cadres, Aceh Besar PKK cadres consisting of 30 people. Community Service Results, Increased Knowledge about the importance of dental and oral hygiene during pregnancy increased by 40%, Increased Knowledge about gingivitis and pregnancy complications such as BBLR 45%, Increased Knowledge about techniques and Frequency of brushing teeth at least 2 times a day 40%, Increased Use of herbal mouthwash (cocoa extract) 55%. There is an increase in pregnant women's knowledge about dental and oral hygiene, and behavioral changes in maintaining oral hygiene. suggestion, it is important to carry out continuous training for health cadres, and continuous support from the government and health workers is needed.

Abstract

School children (AS) are one of the groups that are vulnerable to nutritional and health disorders. Balanced nutrition is needed in the process of child growth and development, improving good learning abilities, and providing a positive impact on their development in the future. The prevalence of children aged 6-12 years in Indonesia who are underweight (wasting) and very underweight using the BMI/U indicator is 7.6% and 4.6%. One of these nutritional problems can be caused by low nutrient intake both in the past and in the present. This community service activity is to increase school children's knowledge about nutrition and health in an effort to prevent and overcome malnutrition in school children. The selection of school nutrition cadres (KGS) was carried out as role models for healthy school children and had the task of assisting school teachers in implementing TBAS measurements. Providing nutrition education is done through lectures and questions and answers, the media used are power points and leaflets. Knowledge of nutrition and health of school children is assessed before and after providing nutrition education. In this activity, TBAS measurements were carried out. Results: Before being given nutrition education, most of the nutritional and health knowledge of school children was low (76,5%), most of the AS did not eat breakfast (38,2%). The results of the TBAS measurement were partly short, namely boys by 51,3% and girls by 27,1%. Conclusion: There was an increase in student knowledge after being given nutrition education by 34,4%.

Abstract

Work accidents occur due to several things, namely weak supervision on the project, undisciplined labor in complying with OHS, and inadequate personal protective equipment on the project in terms of quantity and quality. The problem may occur to workers of PT. The method used is by counseling workers from PT.Tukang Bangun Indonesia which was held on Saturday, June 08, 2024 at the PT.Tukang Bangun Indonesia office, Surakarta with a total of 11 participants and participants consisted of office workers and field workers with a more dominant proportion of field workers, this is because field workers have a greater potential for work accidents. The counseling was conducted with lectures and presentations conducted collaboratively by students and lecturers. The pre-test was conducted to determine the participants' initial understanding, then a post-test was conducted to measure the increase in participants' understanding when compared to the pre-test results. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test evaluations, it was found that only 49.8% of participants understood about OHS, and the results of understanding after the workshop increased to an average of 88.5% of participants understood about OHS, so based on the results of the evaluation, it can be concluded that the workshop conducted has been able and effective to improve the ability and understanding of participants from PT. Abstract

Cognitive function is one of the problems that occurs in the elderly because physiologically as a person ages they will experience a decrease or disturbance in their nervous system due to disrupted oxygen supply to the brain, degenerative disease, Alzheimer's disease, malnutrition and impaired cognitive function including orientation to time, space, place and things. something new that is difficult to accept. Risk factors that can influence the decline in cognitive function are family heredity, level of education, brain injury, toxins, not doing physical activity, and chronic diseases such as Parkinson's, heart disease and stroke. This activity involves the elderly with the aim of early detection of cognitive dysfunction in Dukuh Kadilangon, Gondangmanis Village, Bae District, Kudus Regency. The results of the Screening in Dukuh Kadilangon, Gondangmanis Village, showed normal cognitive function in the elderly as many as 10 people (24.4%), mild cognitive impairment as many as 11 people (26.8%), moderate cognitive impairment in 17 people (41.5%), and 3 people (7.3%) had severe cognitive impairment. Conclusion: The cognitive function of the elderly in Dukuh Kadilangon, Gondangmanis Village, Bae District, Kudus Regency, results show that the majority of elderly people have moderate cognitive dysfunction, 17 people (41.5%).

Abstract

Low attendance of toddlers at the Posyandu in Karang Asam Ilir, Samarinda, affects the monitoring of child development, with 45 malnourished toddlers and 2 suffering from severe malnutrition in 2022. Educational and demonstration programs on menu preparation were implemented to empower families and health cadres in preventing stunting. Results showing increased knowledge and skills of mothers and health cadres regarding high-calorie menu preparation. Conclusion is family empowerment and education effectively improved knowledge and skills in stunting prevention.

Abstract

Wastewater is defined as wastewater that has been utilized by people for a variety of purposes, including the use of clean water from homes, workplaces, stores, public spaces, industries, and other sources. In addition to the issue of clean water provision—which is crucial to investigate since clean water is a basic necessity that the community needs constantly—one of the major issues facing residential areas, particularly in urban areas, is environmental pollution brought on by improper wastewater disposal. This community service project aims to conduct actions to enhance the physical quality of the river water that flows to nearby residences by means of the planning of a simple filter. The residence of a local in the sungai area that discards rubbish into the river during the activity's planning, execution, and assessment phases is the service's goal. To get ready, a preliminary survey is carried out to assess field conditions and secure authorization. putting lectures and student activities into practice. As a result of the action, four houses now have a shared infiltration well, removing any obstacles that the residents may have had in directing their home's wastewater.

Abstract

The location of the village in a highland area makes it difficult to get groundwater, to fulfil daily needs, namely drinking, bathing, washing. Meanwhile, to fulfil these water needs, residents utilise rainwater and river water. Rainwater sources can only be used to meet the needs during the rainy season, while river water is used by residents by piping from the mountain where there is a small river that does not always get clear water because it is carried away by soil material, especially during the rainy season the water becomes cloudy and the water reservoir must always be cleaned because there is silt or soil carried by water. This service will be carried out, namely counselling activities and river water treatment practices with simple cougulation and flocculation methods to always get clear water. The target of the service is villagers. Activities were carried out in May 2024, with site preparation activities and permits and procurement of materials, implementation of lecturer and student activities and assisted by the community in the form of counseling and at the same time practice in making filters and natural cogulation, participants who attended were generally attended by family heads and housewives. And the ability of the community to treat water simply and the ability to make natural coagulation was obtained.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar caused by disruption of the insulin hormone which has a function to maintain body homeostasis by lowering blood sugar levels. The expected goal after the implementation of this program is to increase the knowledge of cadres in compliance with diabetes mellitus management in cadres in Lemito District, Lomuli Village. This is intended for cadres with a total of 10 health cadres. The methods used in this activity include counseling and also providing Pre-tests and Post-tests. To find out the knowledge of cadres before and after being given counseling about Diabetes Mellitus. The results of the initial screening using a written pre-test question sheet showed that the cadres' knowledge of DM was around 6.1% where the results of the pre-test showed that the cadres did not know much about Diabetes Mellitus, and after the presentation of the material showed an increase in the cadres' knowledge of around 7.2% as evidenced by the written post-test question sheet.

Abstract

Family empowerment through Home Visits, family dental and oral health care is an effective approach to improve the quality of a person's health through improving dental health.  Family dental nursing care (home visit service) with a pick-up strategy provides motivation for the willingness or will to carry out activities in the positive direction of family dental health actions. This community service is carried out by a descriptive method, with the target of children and their parents as respondents. Data analysis uses univariate analysis using the Intervention T test provided in the form of problem-based counseling, measuring the status of children's dental health and demonstrating how to brush their teeth. The results of community service are the improvement of knowledge, attitudes and actions of mothers and changes in children's dental health status (pre-test, post test I, post test II) in family empowerment through home visits for dental and oral nursing care in improving dental health status in Gampong Cot Mosque, Lueng Bata Banda Aceh District.It is hoped that the Puskesmas can make the UKGM program using a family empowerment pattern through home visits, dental and oral nursing care through home visit services in improving the degree of dental and oral health of families.

Abstract

Routine medical check up as part of preventive and Germas. Early and simple test  using urine samples to prevent Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) in women of reproductive age can be a preventive. Markers of UTI  in urine test by dipstick method are leukocytes and nitrites. This test is a simple that can use at a health service. The aim of this community service activity is to carry out a simple urine test for Women reproductive Age in Tahoku. The method of implementing activities is divided into 3 stages, namely preparation, implementation and evaluation of activities. The location of the activity was in Negeri Hila, one of the areas on Ambon Island. An initial survey at the Hila Care Community Health Center found that community visits very low. This is due to the low level of public interest in carrying out regular test to maintain health status. Urine examinations use the dipstick method. The results of community service activities involving 31 participants, with the majority of participants aged <25 years with positive urine leukocyte examination results of 80.6% and positive urine nitrites of 100%. These results indicate that most of the subjects have signs of UTI symptoms. The results of this service are used as information for local health services to increase public awareness to care about health and to carry out periodic health checks to prevent disease.
