Abstract

Physics is often considered a challenging subject due to its abstract nature of matter and requires high visualization, especially on the topics of vibration, waves, sound, light, and optics. To overcome this, the Subject Teacher Meeting of Cilegon City Junior High School together with Physics Education lecturers FKIP Untirta held an innovative training that integrated the Deep Learning approach and PhET interactive simulation media. The training was carried out in two sessions at SMPN 5 and SMPN 1 Cilegon City involving 32 science teachers. Activities include identification of needs, delivery of contextual pedagogical materials, video playback of physics phenomena, PhET simulation practice, and interactive discussions. The results of the evaluation showed that 85–90% of participants experienced an increase in understanding of physics concepts and an interest in visual and exploratory learning methods. These findings indicate that the integration of Deep Learning and PhET can enrich physics learning to be more contextual, engaging, and aligned with 21st century competencies. This program is the first step towards the transformation of sustainable education with teachers as drivers of innovation.

Abstract

Teachers are not merely transmitters of knowledge but also serve as character builders and spiritual mentors. This community service program was designed to equip early childhood educators from the Kairos Foundation in Sorong, Southwest Papua, with a comprehensive understanding of the competencies required of educators, the characteristics of learners from a Christian worldview, and the challenges faced by educators in the 21st century. These challenges were explored through the lens of 21st-century skills and with reference to the Regulation of the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture No. 137 of 2014. Through a reflective and contextual approach involving discussions and assignments, the online training—attended by sixteen teachers—resulted in improved educator understanding, as evidenced by their ability to clearly and critically explain the four key aspects covered. This training not only enhanced the participants’ conceptual understanding but also affirmed their identity and strategic role as educators in shaping a generation that is intellectually capable and deeply rooted in Christian values. Ultimately, the training serves as a practical guide for meaningful and transformative teaching.

Abstract

The purpose of this workshop was to enhance educators’ understanding and skills in designing and implementing assessment integrated with the principles and learning experiences of the deep learning approach in early childhood education (ECE). The workshop employed an andragogical approach, facilitated discussions, case studies, simulations, and hands-on practice grounded in local contexts. In this approach, assessment is positioned not merely as a measurement tool, but as an integral part of the child’s learning process. Participants included academics, supervisors, school principals, and ECE teachers. The results indicate that formative assessments (Assessment for Learning and Assessment as Learning) and summative assessment (Assessment of Learning) contextually support children's core learning experiences: understanding, applying, and reflecting. Assessment practices were carried out through systematic observation, portfolios, guided reflection, and project-based documentation. Findings highlight the importance of aligning assessment with meaningful, mindful, and joyful learning principles, and of cross-role collaboration in planning and implementation. This article recommends teacher training, the development of context-based assessment guidelines, the strengthening of professional learning communities, and the integration of digital support to promote reflective and child-centered assessment practices

Abstract

This community service program aims to promote the use of APE media for children's motor development. Motor skills are fundamental to a child's development, especially for children aged five to ten years, enabling them to develop more fully. This program focuses on children's motor development, which consists of fine and gross motor skills, through the use of simple media, namely APE (Educational Toys). Through this media promotion, it will be possible to assess the extent of children's motor skill development relative to their age. This community service initiative has a specific target: to promote the use of APE media in schools and at home to support the healthy development of children's motor skills, including both fine and gross motor skills. The methods employed include lectures and demonstrations. The results of the data summary table show that the average pre-test score was 52, while the average post-test score was 85.3. The percentage increase in knowledge about children's motor development was 33.3%. From this data, it can be concluded that there was an increase in knowledge about the modification of Educational Toys at MI Muhammadiyah Ciputat.

Abstract

One of the problems experienced by coastal communities in Banaran Village is limited access to education, health care, and public services, which impact the dynamics and well-being of life. The limited access to health care, particularly mental health, significantly impacts the community's quality of life. This is especially true in villages far from the city and experiencing economic instability. Individuals with a quality of life are better able to manage themselves and the problems they face. Therefore, knowledge about mental health is needed so that coastal communities have the same knowledge as other communities. Coastal communities are a vulnerable group due to a lack of mental health literacy. Therefore, mental health literacy is one solution to improving the quality of life of coastal communities. The goal of this activity is to improve the quality of life of coastal communities through Mental Health Literacy. The method used is training that includes education and role-play through self-assessment. The results showed a difference in participants' understanding and skills after being provided with education and role-play on mental health literacy. This increase in cognitive skills allows individuals to think clearly and identify alternative solutions to their problems, thus encouraging them to seek the most effective solutions to avoid conditions that cause mental disorders. Mental health literacy is an alternative solution to problems that can improve the community's quality of life.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance the capacity of educators at similar early childhood education units Aster 131 Jember in applying sensory integration stimulation through a multisensory approach—specifically, brain gym activities accompanied by regional songs. The program was initiated in response to the diverse developmental conditions of the students and the teachers’ limited access to media for introducing art and local culture. Therefore, an innovative learning strategy was needed to support both inclusive education and cultural introduction. The activity was carried out in five stages: initial survey, awareness-raising session, training of trainers (ToT), implementation of pre-learning activities with students, monitoring, and post-intervention evaluation. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests for teachers and a satisfaction survey administered after the program. The results indicated an increase in teachers’ understanding of the importance of sensory integration in early childhood, improvement in their skills in implementing brain gym activities, and active student participation in pre-learning sessions that combined motor skills and local cultural elements. The satisfaction survey showed that teachers found this method enjoyable, easy to apply, and relevant to children's needs. This initiative recommends the implementation of culturally grounded multisensory approaches as an effective strategy to support inclusive and high-quality early childhood education.

Abstract

School counselors are not yet adequately informed about career services, have limitations in career service methods, and lack the use of effective tools such as the RIASEC (Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional) Test. This, in turn, reduces the effectiveness of the services provided. The identification of students' interests and talents presents a significant challenge for school counselors. The preponderance of students electing majors or further studies that are not congruent with their aptitudes constitutes an additional problem. The methodology employed in this community service activity entailed training in the application and administration of the RIASEC test. This training was conducted through lectures and hands-on practice, and was attended by 11 teachers, including school counselors, subject teachers, and class advisors. The results of the hands-on exercise in the utilization and administration of the RIASEC test indicated that nine individuals exhibited a propensity for a social career personality, while two individuals demonstrated a proclivity for a conventional career personality. This finding suggests that the utilization and administration of the RIASEC test are not challenging, as the instrument is quite straightforward.

Abstract

Learning devices are key elements in ensuring that the teaching and learning process occurs effectively and systematically. With continuous curriculum changes, teachers are required to review and update their learning devices to maintain relevance to contemporary educational needs. This study aims to describe the training on learning device development for teachers at SD Negeri 100/VI Pamenang II, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province, which employs the Transfer of Knowledge (ToK) methodology. This training provides professional development for teacher competencies in developing learning devices that encompass teaching modules, instructional materials, learning media, student worksheets (LKPD), and assessment instruments. The interactive and participatory Transfer of Knowledge methodology enables teachers not only to update their knowledge but also to develop practical skills required for classroom instruction. The training outcomes demonstrate improvement in teacher competencies for developing learning devices that align with the independent curriculum in the planning dimension. This training is anticipated to yield long-term impacts in enhancing educational quality through more competent teachers and more effective learning devices that are relevant to student needs.

Abstract

Pro Farm, a producer of goat-manure organic fertilizer in Dringu, Probolinggo, faces marketing constraints due to reliance on offline sales and local promotions. This community program aims to strengthen competitiveness through a simple, measurable, capacity-fit digital marketing rollout. The intervention comprised three stages: (1) socialization to align understanding, select priority channels (Instagram, Shopee, Tokopedia, Lazada), and set performance indicators; (2) training on promotional content and account management—product photography, short video, copywriting, scheduling, and responsive service; and (3) assisted setup of social media and online stores, including storefront curation, product descriptions, reply templates, and daily operating procedures. Results indicate improved organizational readiness: objectives, posting cadence, content pillars, and style standards were agreed; an active Instagram account and marketplace shops present clear information with consistent calls to action; the service flow from comments to chat to checkout was shortened; and weekly metric tracking began (follower growth, reach, storefront visits, chat–order ratio, review quality). Findings emphasize that digital adoption depends less on budget and more on consistent execution, continuous learning, and role governance. Recommended next steps include strengthening social proof, optimizing keywords, testing content variants, fostering local collaborations, and securing accounts via two-factor authentication and access management. The three-stage model is replicable for agribusiness MSMEs with local adaptations, enabling market expansion, revenue growth, and business sustainability, grounded in field data and customer needs.
