Abstract

In a globalized era of uncertainty, sustainability and environmental responsibility have become a key focus for business and society. Relevant parties must take immediate action in response to critical issues such as climate change, environmental degradation, and the need for sustainable resources. Private and public sector organizations are expected to pursue financial returns and implement environmentally responsible business practices amidst the complexity of such issues. The company's concern for the environment is very important, considering that the environment and society have been exposed to many negative influences due to the activities carried out by the company. These negative influences arise from the activities of companies, especially in exploiting natural resources as the main material and in the production process. This results in pollution, poisoning, and noise, which have disrupted people's lives in the short and long term. Implementing this community service first involved conducting preliminary observations to determine the conditions owned by weaving business actors. Observations were made after a letter of request for assistance was received from the ulos weaving partners of Sigaol Timur Village, Uluan District, Toba Regency. The service was implemented on 15 June 2024 in Sigaol Village, Uluan District, Toba Regency. The weaver group mostly uses yarn with chemical dyes because it produces brighter colors than natural dyes. Customers prefer this bright color. Chemically dyed yarns can be used directly as weaving materials. At the same time, naturally dyed yarns require a longer process and the weaver's creativity to combine several types of plants to produce a color blend. Chemical dyes are mostly used to meet market demand, so Ulos is bright. Weavers became interested in increasing their knowledge of yarn dyeing and waste management. They started to record how much liquid waste is disposed of, including the amount of waste left over from making natural color yarn, recognizing environmental costs that can be recorded as production costs.

Abstract

Abstract

Freshwater ornamental fish farming has high economic potential, but youth participation in rural areas is still low due to limited access to technical training and entrepreneurial literacy. This community service program aims to empower youth communities in Bagek Nunggal Hamlet, West Lombok, by developing ornamental fish farming based on education and entrepreneurship. The implementation method includes technical training in ornamental fish farming (guppy, platy, molly) with a simple biofilter system, entrepreneurship training, and assistance in establishing community business units. Participatory surveys showed that 76.7% of respondents did not have cultivation skills, and 83.3% had never participated in business training. The results of the activities showed a significant increase in the participants' technical knowledge, entrepreneurial motivation, and digital marketing skills. This program succeeded in encouraging the formation of joint business groups and growing a sustainable local entrepreneurial ecosystem. This intervention proves that an integrative approach between technical training, entrepreneurship, and utilizing local assets can increase young rural communities' capacity and economic independence.

Abstract

The Sports and Arts Week (Porseni) for Madrasah Aliyah (MA) level in Ponorogo is a biennial event organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Ponorogo Regency to explore and develop students’ talents and creativity in sports and the arts. One of the increasingly popular and evolving competition categories is Graphic Design, which involves the use of visual elements such as typography, illustrations, and color to effectively convey messages. In 2025, MAN 1 Ponorogo was appointed as the host for the district-level Graphic Design competition. This event aims to enhance students’ skills and competitiveness in visual design, while upholding values of sportsmanship and objectivity. However, previous Porseni events have faced challenges related to the evaluation process, including a lack of transparency, subjective judgments, and a mismatch between judges’ backgrounds and the competition field. These issues have led to distrust among participants regarding the final results. To address this, the Porseni committee at MAN 1 Ponorogo has collaborated with lecturers from the Informatics Engineering department who have expertise in graphic design to serve as competition judges. This collaboration is expected to establish a more objective and fair assessment system, aligned with graphic design evaluation criteria, and ultimately improve the quality and integrity of Porseni as a whole.

Abstract

This article discusses the development of MSME potential in Legok Harendong Village, Bandung Regency, through the use of social media and digital distribution. This area is famous for its honey orange commodities and Arabica and Robusta coffee, which thrive due to the hilly geographical conditions and the dominance of the community as farmers. However, limited infrastructure, digital literacy, and marketing strategies are the main challenges for MSMEs in developing their businesses. This community service activity aims to enhance the capacity of MSME actors, particularly Elgeha coffee entrepreneurs, through digital marketing socialization, social media content training (including Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp), and product catalog creation on e-commerce platforms. The approach used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which is a collaborative approach that actively involves MSME actors in the process of identifying problems, training, and mentoring in digital marketing based on social media. The results show an increase in business knowledge and ability in using digital media for promotion and distribution. In addition, the formation of a coffee lover community is bold, which expands networks and market potential. This program shows that digital transformation at the village MSME level can be an effective strategy in strengthening competitiveness and accelerating local economic growth sustainably.
