Journal of Community Empowerment is multidisciplinary scientific journal in the field of empowerment and community Service, published by the English Department Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram with a publication period of two times in one year, namely in June and December. This journal covers some general problems from the results of research implemented to the community services including (1) social humanities, science, applied science, economic, health, cultural, ICT Development, and administration services, (2) Training and improvement in the results of educational, agricultural, information and communication, and appropriate technology, (3) community empowerment, students community services, local food security, marketing, and less developed region. The purpose of this journal publication is to disseminate conceptual thoughts or ideas and research results that have been achieved in the field of service to the community. This journal accepts manuscript in Bahasa or English.

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                                     Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan mindset kewirausahaan, keterampilan manajerial, dan kapasitas pemanfaatan teknologi pelaku UMKM di Desa Permata Baru, Kabupaten Ogan Ilir. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 23 Oktober 2025 dengan melibatkan 25 pelaku UMKM melalui pendekatan partisipatif berbasis pelatihan, pendampingan, dan penerapan teknologi tepat guna. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri atas tahapan sosialisasi, pelatihan mindset kewirausahaan dan manajemen usaha, penerapan teknologi produksi dan pemasaran digital, serta pendampingan dan evaluasi berkelanjutan. Evaluasi program dilakukan menggunakan pre-test dan post-test, observasi, serta wawancara dengan instrumen kuesioner skala Likert. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa 84% peserta mengalami peningkatan pemahaman mindset kewirausahaan, 100% peserta mampu menerapkan pencatatan keuangan sederhana, 72% peserta mulai menyusun rencana usaha, dan 80% mengadopsi teknologi tepat guna dalam proses produksi dan pengemasan. Selain itu, terbentuk satu Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUB) yang melibatkan 15 pelaku UMKM aktif, serta 56% peserta mengalami peningkatan penjualan sebesar 10–25% pada tahap awal pascaprogram. Program ini terbukti efektif dalam mendorong transformasi UMKM dari usaha berorientasi survival menuju usaha yang lebih terencana, inovatif, dan berdaya saing. Keberlanjutan program perlu didukung melalui pendampingan lanjutan, penguatan kelembagaan, serta perluasan jejaring pemasaran berbasis potensi lokal.Kata kunci: Mindset Kewirausahaan; UMKM Desa; Teknologi Tepat Guna; Pendampingan Usaha; Pemberdayaan Masyarakat. ABSTRACTThis community service program aims to enhance the entrepreneurial mindset, managerial skills, and technological utilization capacity of MSME actors in Permata Baru Village, Ogan Ilir Regency. The activity was conducted on October 23, 2025, involving 25 MSME participants through a participatory approach based on training, mentoring, and the application of appropriate technology. The implementation method consisted of several stages, including socialization, training on entrepreneurial mindset and business management, application of production technology and digital marketing, as well as continuous mentoring and evaluation. Program evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test assessments, observations, and interviews employing a Likert-scale questionnaire. The results indicate that 84% of participants experienced an improvement in entrepreneurial mindset understanding, 100% were able to implement simple financial record-keeping, 72% began developing business plans, and 80% adopted appropriate technology in production and packaging processes. In addition, one Joint Business Group (KUB) involving 15 active MSME actors was established, and 56% of participants experienced an increase in sales ranging from 10–25% in the initial post-program period. The program proved effective in transforming MSMEs from survival-oriented businesses into more planned, innovative, and competitive enterprises. Program sustainability should be supported through structured follow-up mentoring, institutional strengthening, and the expansion of marketing networks based on local potential.Keywords: Entrepreneurial Mindset; Rural MSMEs; Appropriate Technology; Business Mentoring; Community Empowerment.

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                                     Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan melalui Program Kemitraan Masyarakat Internal (PKMI) oleh tim dosen Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Halu Oleo dengan tujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengolah sampah organik menjadi eco enzyme sebagai solusi ramah lingkungan sekaligus berpotensi memberikan manfaat ekonomi bagi keluarga. Pemanfaatan eco enzyme diharapkan mampu mengurangi pengeluaran rumah tangga, khususnya untuk kebutuhan pembersih alami, serta membuka peluang pengembangan produk bernilai jual. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi pemaparan materi, demonstrasi, praktik langsung, serta sesi diskusi interaktif. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 15 peserta yang terdiri atas ibu rumah tangga dan pemuda setempat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta terkait konsep eco enzyme dan tahapan fermentasinya, yang ditunjukkan melalui kemampuan seluruh peserta memproduksi eco enzyme secara mandiri serta adanya rencana pemanfaatan produk untuk kebutuhan rumah tangga dan peluang penjualan skala kecil. Antusiasme peserta tercermin dari partisipasi aktif selama praktik dan diskusi. Kegiatan ini berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan kesadaran pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga, pengurangan limbah organik, serta penguatan potensi ekonomi berbasis rumah tangga melalui pendampingan lanjutan pada bulan kedua dan ketiga selama masa fermentasi. Dengan demikian, kegiatan pengabdian ini berhasil mencapai capaian utama, yaitu mendorong penerapan pengelolaan sampah organik yang produktif, berkelanjutan, dan bernilai ekonomi bagi masyarakat.Kata kunci: Eco Enzyme, Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat, Sampah Organik.   ABSTRACTThis community service activity was carried out through the Internal Community Partnership Program (PKMI) by a team of lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Halu Oleo University, with the aim of increasing the knowledge and skills of the community in processing organic waste into eco enzymes as an environmentally friendly solution that also has the potential to provide economic benefits for families. The use of eco enzymes is expected to reduce household expenses, particularly for natural cleaning products, and open up opportunities for the development of marketable products. The implementation methods included material presentations, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and interactive discussion sessions. This activity was attended by 15 participants consisting of housewives and local youth. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding and skills related to the concept of eco enzyme and its fermentation stages, as demonstrated by the ability of all participants to produce eco enzyme independently and the existence of plans to utilize the product for household needs and small-scale sales opportunities. The enthusiasm of the participants was reflected in their active participation during the practice and discussion. This activity had a positive impact on increasing awareness of household waste management, reducing organic waste, and strengthening household-based economic potential through continued assistance in the second and third months during the fermentation period. Thus, this community service activity successfully achieved its main objective, which was to encourage the implementation of productive, sustainable, and economically valuable organic waste management for the community.Keywords: eco enzyme, community service, organic waste.

ABSTRAK                                                                                     Kesehatan reproduksi remaja masih menjadi isu penting dalam kesehatan masyarakat di wilayah perkotaan, di mana paparan digital yang cepat serta pengaruh sosial meningkatkan kerentanan terhadap perilaku seksual berisiko. Program PERISAI (Perangi Risiko Seks Bebas Remaja) diinisiasi sebagai model promosi kesehatan perkotaan berbasis web yang bertujuan untuk memperkuat pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan self-efficacy remaja dalam mencegah perilaku seksual berisiko. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menerapkan strategi intervensi utama berupa edukasi digital interaktif, diskusi daring, pembelajaran berbasis kasus, serta simulasi berbasis web. Program ini melibatkan remaja usia 15–19 tahun dan menggunakan desain pre–post test untuk mengevaluasi perubahan pengetahuan kesehatan reproduksi dan self-efficacy. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada pemahaman peserta mengenai kesehatan reproduksi, persepsi risiko, serta kepercayaan diri dalam menetapkan batasan diri dan mengambil keputusan yang aman. Tingginya tingkat keterlibatan peserta selama kegiatan berbasis web juga menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi asertif dan kapasitas dalam mengelola tekanan sebaya. Inisiasi Program PERISAI membuktikan bahwa model promosi kesehatan berbasis web efektif sebagai strategi preventif dalam menurunkan perilaku seksual berisiko pada remaja perkotaan. Implementasi yang berkelanjutan melalui kolaborasi dengan sekolah, keluarga, dan pemangku kepentingan komunitas direkomendasikan untuk memastikan perubahan perilaku jangka panjang.Kata kunci: Perisai; Promosi Kesehatan; Seks Bebas; Web-Based. ABSTRACTAdolescent reproductive health remains a critical public health issue in urban settings, where rapid digital exposure and social influences increase vulnerability to risky sexual behaviours. The PERISAI Programme (Combatting the Risk of Adolescent Free Sex) was initiated as a web-based urban health promotion model aimed at strengthening adolescents’ knowledge, awareness, and self-efficacy in preventing risky sexual behaviour. This Community Service Programme employed interactive digital education, online discussions, case-based learning, and web-based simulations as core intervention strategies. The programme involved adolescents aged 15–19 years and applied a pre–post test design to evaluate changes in reproductive health knowledge and self-efficacy. The findings revealed a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of reproductive health, risk perception, and confidence in establishing personal boundaries and making safe decisions. High levels of participant engagement throughout the web-based activities also indicated enhanced assertive communication skills and improved capacity to manage peer pressure. The initiation of the PERISAI Programme demonstrates that a web-based health promotion model is effective as a preventive strategy for reducing risky sexual behaviour among urban adolescents. Sustainable implementation through collaboration with schools, families, and community stakeholders is recommended to ensure long-term behavioural change.Keywords: Perisai; Health Promotion; Free Seks; Web-Based.

Abstract

ABSTRAKManuskrip pengabdian ini melaporkan program utama Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Borneo Tarakan (UBT) di Desa Mendupo, Kecamatan Betayau, Kabupaten Tana Tidung, Kalimantan Utara, yang dilaksanakan pada 22 Desember 2025 s.d. 30 Januari 2026. Kegiatan dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan penguatan kapasitas desa pada aspek kesehatan keluarga, literasi anak, dan pemanfaatan sumber daya lokal yang masih memerlukan pendampingan yang lebih terstruktur. Program dilaksanakan oleh mahasiswa KKN UBT Kelompok 01 dengan mitra kelembagaan utama Pemerintah Desa Mendupo, PKK/kader posyandu, pengelola TBM, dan Karang Taruna, serta melibatkan warga, anak-anak, ibu hamil, dan keluarga balita sebagai sasaran kegiatan. Program dirancang terintegrasi pada tiga kegiatan prioritas: (1) penanaman dan penguatan kebun Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) sebagai upaya ketahanan kesehatan rumah tangga; (2) penguatan literasi anak melalui revitalisasi Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (TBM) dengan model belajar sambil bermain; dan (3) sosialisasi persuasif pencegahan stunting bagi ibu hamil serta ibu/pengasuh balita. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan critical participatory action research (CPAR) melalui tahapan koordinasi awal dan analisis situasi, perencanaan kolaboratif bersama mitra, pelaksanaan program melalui pendampingan praktik langsung, serta evaluasi-refleksi untuk menyusun tindak lanjut. Keberhasilan kegiatan tidak diukur melalui pretest-posttest formal, tetapi melalui evaluasi formatif berupa observasi partisipatif, logbook, dokumentasi, tanya jawab, tingkat partisipasi, dan refleksi bersama mitra pada akhir rangkaian kegiatan. Hasil menunjukkan meningkatnya pemahaman warga tentang manfaat dan perawatan TOGA, meningkatnya minat anak mengikuti kegiatan TBM ketika dipadukan dengan aktivitas kreatif (mendongeng, menggambar, mewarnai), serta menguatnya pemahaman bahwa stunting tidak semata faktor keturunan, melainkan terkait gizi, pola asuh, dan kebersihan lingkungan pada periode 1.000 HPK. Simpulan pengabdian menegaskan bahwa integrasi program kesehatan-literasi-pemberdayaan sumber daya lokal melalui kemitraan kampus dan desa efektif memperkuat kapasitas masyarakat dan layak direplikasi pada konteks pedesaan serupa.Kata Kunci: TOGA; TBM; Pencegahan Stunting; KKN; Pengabdian Masyarakat. ABSTRACTThis community service manuscript reports the main programs implemented during the University of Borneo Tarakan (UBT) Community Service Program (KKN) in Mendupo Village, Betayau Sub-district, Tana Tidung Regency, North Kalimantan, from 22 December 2025 to 30 January 2026. The activities were initiated in response to the need to strengthen village capacity in family health, children's literacy, and the use of local resources through more structured assistance. The program was carried out by UBT KKN Group 01 students in collaboration with four main institutional partners: the Mendupo Village Government, PKK/posyandu cadres, TBM managers, and Karang Taruna, while community members, children, pregnant women, and families with under-fives served as the main participants. The program integrated three priority activities: (1) the establishment and strengthening of a Family Medicinal Plant (TOGA) garden to support household health resilience; (2) revitalization of the Community Reading Park (TBM) through joyful literacy activities for children; and (3) persuasive education on stunting prevention for pregnant women and caregivers of under-fives. The method adopted a critical participatory action research (CPAR) approach covering initial coordination and situation analysis, collaborative planning with local partners, hands-on implementation, and evaluation-reflection to formulate follow-up actions. Program success was not measured through a formal pretest-posttest design; instead, formative evaluation was conducted through participatory observation, daily logbooks, documentation, question-and-answer sessions, participation records, and joint reflection with partners. Findings indicated that improved community understanding of the benefits and maintenance of medicinal plants, stronger children's engagement in TBM activities when reading was combined with creative tasks (storytelling, drawing, and coloring), and better awareness that stunting is not merely hereditary but is closely related to nutrition, caregiving, and environmental hygiene during the first 1,000 days of life. The manuscript concludes that integrating health, literacy, and local-resource empowerment through village-university partnership can strengthen community capacity and is worthy of replication in similar rural contexts.Keywords: TOGA; Community Reading Park; Stunting Prevention; KKN; Community Service.

ABSTRAK                                                                                     Masa pubertas merupakan fase transisi yang ditandai perubahan fisik, psikologis, dan spiritual, namun banyak siswa sekolah dasar belum memiliki pemahaman yang terintegrasi dengan nilai Islam sehingga kurang siap menghadapi perubahan dan kewajiban setelah baligh. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa dalam menghadapi pubertas sesuai ajaran Islam. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi penyuluhan melalui ceramah interaktif dan simulasi praktik mandi wajib. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi koordinasi dengan mitra, persiapan materi dan instrumen, pelaksanaan, serta evaluasi. Mitra kegiatan adalah SDIT Al Firdaus Banjarmasin dengan jumlah peserta 90 siswa kelas VI. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan pre-test dan post-test serta observasi keterampilan siswa. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan rerata nilai dari 56,22 menjadi 93,56 dengan persentase peningkatan sebesar 66,40%. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan keterampilan praktik mandi wajib. Kegiatan ini efektif meningkatkan kesiapan siswa secara holistik dan berpotensi direplikasi pada sekolah dasar berbasis keagamaan lainnya.Kata kunci: Siswa Sekolah Dasar; Edukasi; Pubertas; Nilai Islam. ABSTRACTPuberty is a transitional phase characterized by physical, psychological, and spiritual changes; however, many elementary school students still lack a comprehensive understanding integrated with Islamic values, leading to unpreparedness in facing these changes and religious obligations after reaching puberty (baligh). This community service activity aimed to improve students’ knowledge (cognitive) and skills (psychomotor) in dealing with puberty in accordance with Islamic teachings. The implementation methods included educational sessions through interactive lectures and simulation of obligatory bathing (ghusl) practices. The stages of the activity consisted of coordination with partners, preparation of materials and instruments, implementation, and evaluation. The partner in this activity was SDIT Al Firdaus Banjarmasin, involving 90 sixth-grade students. Evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test, as well as observation of students’ practical skills. The results showed an increase in the average score from 56.22 to 93.56, with a percentage increase of 66.40%. In addition, there was an improvement in students’ skills in performing obligatory bathing practices. This activity was effective in enhancing students’ readiness holistically and has the potential to be replicated in other Islamic-based elementary schools. Keywords: Elementary School Students; Education; Puberty; Islamic Values.

ABSTRAK                                                                                     Pemanfaatan sumber daya alam lokal menjadi salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemandirian masyarakat dalam memenuhi kebutuhan rumah tangga sekaligus menciptakan peluang ekonomi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat Desa Simpang Datuk dalam memanfaatkan daun pandan sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan sabun cuci piring ramah lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan tahapan kegiatan meliputi penyuluhan, pelatihan, dan evaluasi. Penyuluhan dilakukan melalui ceramah, diskusi, dan demonstrasi untuk memberikan pemahaman mengenai manfaat daun pandan serta proses pembuatan sabun cuci piring. Selanjutnya, pelatihan dilakukan dengan praktik langsung oleh peserta dalam proses pembuatan sabun menggunakan bahan daun pandan, jeruk nipis, texapon, garam, dan air. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat, khususnya ibu rumah tangga, memiliki antusiasme yang tinggi dan mampu mempraktikkan pembuatan sabun secara mandiri. Secara teknis, sabun cuci piring berbahan daun pandan dapat digunakan untuk membersihkan peralatan dapur dengan aroma alami dan relatif aman bagi kulit. Dari aspek ekonomi, biaya produksi tergolong rendah sehingga berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai usaha rumah tangga. Sementara itu, dari aspek sosial kegiatan ini mampu meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pemanfaatan bahan alami yang ramah lingkungan.Kata kunci: Daun Pandan; Sabun Cuci Piring; Produk Ramah Lingkungan. ABSTRACTUtilizing local natural resources is one strategy to enhance community independence in meeting household needs while creating economic opportunities. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of the Simpang Datuk Village community in utilizing pandan leaves as a natural ingredient for environmentally friendly dishwashing soap. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR) consisting of counseling, training, and evaluation stages. Counseling activities were conducted through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations to provide information about the benefits of pandan leaves and the process of making dishwashing soap. Furthermore, training was carried out through direct practice by participants in producing soap using pandan leaves, lime, texapon, salt, and water. The results showed that the community, especially housewives, demonstrated high enthusiasm and were able to independently practice the soap-making process. Technically, pandan-based dishwashing soap can effectively clean kitchen utensils, provides a natural fragrance, and is relatively safe for the skin. From an economic perspective, the production cost is relatively low, indicating its potential for development as a household business. Socially, this activity increased community awareness regarding the use of environmentally friendly natural products. Keywords: Pandan Leaves; Dishwashing Soap; Eco-Friendly.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPembelajaran Bahasa Inggris pada anak usia dini memerlukan pendekatan yang kontekstual, menarik, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik perkembangan kognitif anak. Namun, keterbatasan penggunaan media pembelajaran yang inovatif masih menjadi permasalahan utama, termasuk di TK Fatimah 7 Palembang, yang berdampak pada rendahnya motivasi dan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran kosakata Bahasa Inggris. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris melalui pendampingan penggunaan media audio visual serta meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik guru dalam merancang dan menerapkan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif dan kolaboratif yang meliputi tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Mitra kegiatan adalah TK Fatimah 7 Palembang dengan peserta sebanyak 5 guru dan 15 siswa kelompok A dan B. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi partisipatif dan dokumentasi selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media audio visual mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa yang ditandai dengan partisipasi aktif, kemampuan mengikuti pengucapan kosakata secara bersama-sama, serta respons terhadap instruksi sederhana dalam Bahasa Inggris. Suasana pembelajaran menjadi lebih kondusif, interaktif, dan menyenangkan. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik guru dalam menyusun materi ajar, memilih media yang sesuai, dan menerapkannya secara efektif di kelas. Dengan demikian, integrasi media audio visual terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar kosakata Bahasa Inggris anak usia dini serta memperkuat kapasitas profesional guru dalam pembelajaran berbasis teknologi.Kata kunci : Audio Visual; Bahasa Inggris; Pengabdian; Guru; TK. ABSTRACTlearner requires a contextual, engaging approach that aligns with the characteristics of children's cognitive development. However, the limited use of innovative learning media remains a major issue, including TK Fatimah 7 Palembang, resulting in low student motivation and engagement in English vocabulary learning. This community service activity aims to improve the quality of English learning through mentoring the use of audio-visual media and enhancing teachers' pedagogical competence in designing and implementing technology-based learning media. The method used is a participatory and collaborative approach, encompassing preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The activity partner was TK Fatimah in Palembang, with five teachers and 15 students from groups A and B participating. Data collection was conducted through participant observation and documentation during the learning process. The results showed that the use of audio-visual media increased student motivation, characterized by active participation, the ability to follow along with vocabulary pronunciation, and responsiveness to simple instructions in English. The learning environment became more conducive, interactive, and enjoyable. Furthermore, this activity also improved teachers' pedagogical competence in developing teaching materials, selecting appropriate media, and implementing them effectively in the classroom. Thus, the integration of audio-visual media has proven effective in increasing motivation and learning outcomes for early childhood English vocabulary, as well as strengthening teachers' professional capacity in technology-based learning.Keywords: Audio Visual; English; Community Service; Teacher; Kindergarten.

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                                     Keterbatasan akses terhadap fasilitas dan tenaga kefarmasian di Desa Semangat Bakti, Kabupaten Barito Kuala, Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan, berpotensi menyebabkan penggunaan obat yang tidak aman di tingkat rumah tangga. Salah satu permasalahan utama adalah rendahnya pemahaman masyarakat mengenai Beyond Use Date (BUD), yaitu batas waktu aman penggunaan obat setelah kemasan dibuka atau obat diracik. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai penggunaan obat yang aman dan rasional melalui edukasi BUD. Penyuluhan melibatkan mitra Ibu Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) Desa Semangat Bakti sejumlah 29 orang. Kegiatan diawali dengan koordinasi dan pemenuhan aspek legalitas di tingkat Desa. Penyuluhan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 27 Juni 2025 menggunakan metode ceramah dan diskusi interaktif yang didukung media Microsoft PowerPoint dan leaflet serta contoh produk. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest menggunakan kuesioner berisi 10 pernyataan yang dianalisis dengan uji paired sample t-test untuk membandingkan pengetahuan peserta sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan penyuluhan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan peserta yang signifikan setelah penyuluhan (p < 0,05). Kesimpulannya, kegiatan edukasi mengenai BUD efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat terkait batas waktu aman penggunaan obat dan berpotensi mendorong penerapan penggunaan obat yang lebih aman dan rasional dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.Kata kunci: Edukasi; Ibu PKK; Beyond Use Date. ABSTRACTLimited access to pharmaceutical facilities and qualified pharmaceutical personnel in Semangat Bakti Village, Barito Kuala Regency, South Kalimantan Province, may contribute to unsafe medication practices at the household level. One of the primary challenges identified is the limited community understanding of Beyond Use Date (BUD), defined as the maximum safe period for medication use after the primary packaging has been opened or the product has been compounded. This community service program aimed to improve public knowledge and awareness regarding safe and rational drug use through BUD education. The activity involved 29 members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) group in Semangat Bakti Village as participants. The program was initiated with coordination and the fulfillment of legal requirements at the village level. The educational intervention was conducted on June 27, 2025, employing lecture-based and interactive discussion methods, supported by Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, leaflets, and sample products. Evaluation was performed using pretest and posttest assessments with a questionnaire consisting of 10 statements. The data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test to compare participants’ knowledge before and after the intervention. The results demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in participants’ knowledge following educational intervention (p < 0.05). In conclusion, BUD-focused education was effective in improving community understanding of safe medication use limits and may contribute to the adoption of safer and more rational medication practices in daily life.Keywords: Education; Family Welfare Empowerment; Beyond Use Date.
