Focus and Scope Journal of Computer Interaction in Education (JCIE) publishes academic articles that recognize successful engaged learning depends on effective partnerships between students, faculty, community agencies, administrators, disciplines, and more. The journal invites submission of 1) Research that emanates from or informs campus-community partnerships; 2) Studies co-authored by faculty, students, and/or community partners; 3) Literature and Teaching English as Foreign Language; and 4) Commentary on emerging trends, developments, and/or challenges. The publication of this journal aims to spread conceptual thinking or ideas and the research findings obtained in the field of English Education and Literature.

<![CDATA[This research aimed to find out the implementation of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) in EFL classroom at SMPN 4 Sungguminasa and the teachers perception on the implementation of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) in EFL classroom. The data was collected in September from two teachers of seventh and eighth grade of SMPN 4 SUNGGUMINASA. This research used a descriptive qualitative method, and the instruments used observation and interview. The observation was used to observe the implementation of TPACK in EFL classroom and the interview used to get the data related the teachers’ perception on the implementation of TPACK in EFL classroom.The result of this research showed that the teachers in SMPN 4 SUNNGUMINASA have a good level of TPACK they can operate technology variance and manage classes in teaching EFL classroom, namely learning tools and applications such LCD projectors, power point, Laptops, Google Classroom, WhatsApp, mantimeter.com and YouTube. They have done quite well in the teaching and learning process. The result of the interview of this research showed that mostly the teachers gave positive perception and agreed that teachers use Information Communication and Technology (ICT) in EFL classroom, students more motivated to study and easy to understand the material. ]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the dominating level of substitution, augmentation, modification and redefinition (SAMR) use by the teachers in teaching English and the reasons of the English teachers use that level, namely substitution, augmentation, modification and redefinition (SAMR). This research was conducted in January 2023 from 3 English teachers at SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa. This research used descriptive qualitative method, and the instruments used are observation and interviews.The findings of this study indicate that of the four levels of the SAMR model, the most dominant used by English teachers is at the substitution level. And the lowest usage is redefinition. The second finding is the reason why the English teachers are at this level is due to a lack of IT-related knowledge, insufficient school facilities, and a lack of spaces that can assist teachers in improving their IT skills. ]]>

<![CDATA[The aim of this research is to find out the Effect of Smartphone on Students’ Speaking Skill. The research design was used pre-experimental research with one group pre-test and post-test. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Pattallassang sub-district of gowa. The researcher was used total sampling technique. The researcher uses this technique because all the members of the selected had similar characteristic and the same relatively baseline knowledge based on their test examination average scores. The total number of samples was 30 students from class VII-5. The Speaking tests were administered in the pretest and posttest. The instrument was intended to measure the students’ enrichment of speaking. The test Speaking aspects in this research are: fluency, vocabulary, pronunciation, accuracy and comprehensibility. Based on the research findings and discussion in the previous chapter, the researcher concludes that the use of Smartphone enriches the students’ speaking skill; it is proved by the mean score of the students’ posttest. The t-test of the students’ speaking achievement in posttest was smaller than α (0.000 < 0.05). It meant that the H1 of the hypothesis was accepted.]]>

<![CDATA[The aims of this research was to find out the improvement of the student about reading comprehension after using Google Classroom media. This research conducted by used Quantitative method with CAR (Class Action Research). This research population consisted of eighth grade students at UPT SPF SMP Negeri 4 Makassar, with the research sample being Class VIII.8, which consisted of 30 Students, selected by purposive sampling technique. The data from this research gathered through the supply of diagnostic test, test 1 & test 2 to find out an improvement of students' reading comprehension after using Google Classroom as teaching/learning media.The result of this study was significant improvement in reading comprehension of students. This can be shown in the average value of the students of the D-test in the first cycle and the test in the second cycle. The average value of the first cycle test on the aspect of the main idea (94.33) was higher than the D-test (4.17). Then in the aspect of supporting ideas, the mean test cycle I (90.63) was higher than the D-test (26.13). The average test cycle II on aspects of the main idea (98.83) was higher than the first cycle (94.33). While the mean test cycle II in supporting aspects of the idea (93.37) was higher than the first cycle (90.63). The results showed that there was a significant increase in students ' reading comprehension skills after using Google Classroom as an English learning media]]>

<![CDATA[This research aimed to know the speaking ability students when use the Screencast-O-Matic Application at the second grade of MA Darul Fath Pangkep. This research utilized a pre-experimental research method with a quantitative approach which involved 15 samples of the students in the Eleven class IPS at MA Darul Fath Pangkep. This research instrument is a picture of place they had to describe with oral presentation. The research result shows an improvement in the students' speaking ability expecially in fluency after recognize and use the Screencast-O-Matic Applications. It proved the post- test mean score was more significant than the pre-test (71.66>65.33). From the t- test researcher found, the value of the t-test was more excellent than the t-table (4.03>2.14479) at the level of significance 0.05 with the degree of freedom (df) = 14, which means that there was a significant difference between students' speaking before and after applying Screencast-O-Matic. It is also said that the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. The result of the research was effective in students' speaking fluency.]]>

<![CDATA[This research was conducted to find out whether Instagram can increase the students’ Pronunciation skill. The research was obtained at the eighth-grade students of SMPN 33 Makassar. Using Quasi Experimental by taking 2 classes as samples and each class including 28 students. So, the total number of all samples are 56 students. This research found that Instagram videos can increase the students’ Pronunciation skill. The improvement can be seen by mean score of Pre-test in Experimental class was 44.64 and mean score of Post-test was 66.43. Meanwhile, mean score of Pre-test in Controlled class was 47.50 and mean score of Post-test was 42.50. This research Hypothesis concluded that Ha was accepted and Ho was refused showed by the T-test value was greater than the T-table (6.461>1.703), it means that using Instagram videos can increase the students’ English Pronunciation skill.]]>

<![CDATA[This thesis aims at finding out whether or not the use of Electronic U-Dictionary effective to improve non English students’ vocabulary mastery. This research is pre-experimental research with pre-test and post-test design. The pretest was given before giving treatment and the posttest was given after giving treatment. The population of the research was the fourth semester students of PGSD Study Program in Muhammadiyah University of Makassar academic year 2022-2023. There are thirteen classes where each class consist of 25 students, so the sum of the population is 325. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling. The researcher used one class as the sample which contained 25 students. To get the data, the researcher used vocabulary test as the instrument. The data were then analyzed by using SPSS. The results of the statistical analysis shows that the mean score of the pre-test is 53,5 and post-test is 81,6. The result of P=0.00 while α=0.05. it could be that α is higher than P with degree of freedom (df) = 25-1 = 24. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and null hypothesis (H0) rejected. Based on analysis of the result, it could be summed up that the use of Electronic U-Dictionary is effective in teaching vocabulary.]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of this research was to find out the students’ perception toward wattpad as media to enhance reading skill at fourth semester in English Education Department Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. The researcher used descriptive quantitative research. The sample of this research was D Class of English education department students Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar which consist of 10 students. The Data was taken by using questioner with Google form .The data from questionnaire shows that mostly students considered the wattpad application to be a helpful for enhancing students' reading kills. It means reading in wattpad has a good impact on English learning activities in fourth semester students of the English Deparment of Muhammadiyah Makassar.]]>

<![CDATA[This research used a qualitative approach to know students' perspectives on the implementation of hybrid learning models in the subject of seminars on ELT at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. The research subjects were BGE19 class students totaling 10 people. Data collection was carried out by conducting interviews and presented in descriptive form.The results of this study show 3 different views in several aspects. Some students have positive, neutral, and negative perspectives on the implementation of hybrid learning models on the subject of seminars on ELT at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. But most students have a positive perspective stating that this hybrid learning model is favored and expected to be applied to other subjects. It can be concluded that the implementation of hybrid learning models on the subject of seminars is preferred and expected by students. The hybrid learning model should be improved and applied to other subjects by utilizing increasingly adequate technology to make the learning process more effective.]]>

<![CDATA[This study investigated the effects of incorporating Wattpad, an online storytelling platform, on students' literal, interpretative, and reading comprehension skills. A total of 22 students participated in the study, and their comprehension abilities were assessed through pre-test and post-test scores. The findings revealed significant improvements in students' comprehension skills across all three categories after the intervention. In terms of literal comprehension, the majority of students initially struggled with understanding explicit information but demonstrated noteworthy progress in the post-test. Similarly, students exhibited enhanced interpretative comprehension skills, with increased ability to infer implicit meanings. Moreover, students' reading comprehension abilities notably improved, as reflected in higher scores and a reduced percentage of students in lower score ranges. These findings highlight the potential benefits of integrating Wattpad as a tool for enhancing students' comprehension skills and engaging them in reading activities. Further research is warranted to explore the long-term effects and optimal instructional strategies for utilizing Wattpad in promoting comprehensive literacy development among students.]]>
