Abstract

Terdapat 86,5% mengalami anemia.

Abstract

COVID-19 is a problem throughout the world, including Indonesia. One of the efforts to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic is vaccination. A follow-up or booster dose was needed to increase individual protection because there was a decrease in antibodies 6 months after receiving vaccination. This study aimed to determine SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibody levels before and after 8 months of the third booster vaccination. This research method was observational with a longitudinal, cohort approach to 27 samples using a consecutive sampling technique at the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health, Jakarta III in April-November 2022. The data collection techniques used questionnaires and venous blood sampling to examine quantitative Anti-SARS CoV-2 Ig G levels using the CMIA (Chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay) method with the Architect tool which was carried out twice, namely before administration and 8 months after the third booster vaccination with a heterologous vaccine. Data were analyzed using a statistical test of the difference between the means of two groups. Based on the research results, although statistically there was no significant difference between before and 8 months after vaccination (p=0.055), there was a decrease in the mean quantitative Anti-SARS CoV-2 IgG level of 5301.24 AU/mL. As many as 63% of subjects experienced a decrease in antibody levels 8 months after vaccination compared to before the third booster vaccination. Longitudinal studies are needed to determine protective antibody levels.

Abstract

Hospitalized patients with malnutrition are at risk of experiencing prolonged healing processes, extended hospital stays, and a decline in quality of life. One effort to enhance energy and protein intake is through oral administration using Oral Nutrition Supplements (ONS). ONS can be developed as a liquid food formula based on local ingredients, such as tilapia fish and sweet potato. This research aimed to determine the impact of tilapia fish flour and sweet potato flour formulations on the quality of ONS, including organoleptic properties, nutritional value, physical quality, microbiology, and shelf life. The experimental design involves three formulations of tilapia fish and sweet potato flour: 80%:20% (F1), 60%:40% (F2), and 40%:60% (F3). Organoleptic properties are analyzed using hedonic tests by 30 semi-trained panelists. The results showed that ONS with the best organoleptic properties was F2, with an average hedonic score of 5.60 (overall). Kruskal-Wallis test results showed that the formulation significantly influences the taste, aroma, color, and overall of ONS. Nutritional analysis revealed that ONS F2 per 100 mL contains 112 Kcal of energy, 5.4 g of protein, 3.8 g of fat, and 14.1 g of carbohydrates. The viscosity of ONS F2 was 226.5 cP, and the osmolality was 589 mOsmol/kg H2O. ONS F2 also complied with microbiological quality standards. The shelf life of ONS F2 at 2°C was estimated to be 24 days, with an expected selling price of Rp. 23,000 per serving. The research results are expected to apply to malnourished patients in hospitals.

Abstract

Multi Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) is still a global health problem. Indonesia is the 3rd country with an average of 5% cases per 100,000 population. For the Papua region, MDR-TB is still a major problem because the treatment success rate has not reached the WHO indicator (68.7%). The treatment of MDR-TB is complex and time-consuming, making patients non-compliant. Reports of low patient visits have made it possible to develop a promotive service program based on applying the Transtheoretical Model (TTM) of Behavioral Change. The TTM Model focuses on changing behavior with the main component of self-efficacy. The study aimed to determine the characteristics of patients, treatment compliance of MDR-TB patients, analyze the effect of applying the TTM behavioral change model with the level of treatment compliance of MDR-TB patients. The research method used a pre-experiment design with a one-group pre-test-post-test design. The study population was 35 patients at the city and district health centers of Jayapura. The instruments used were the Self-Efficacy For Appropriate Medication Use Scale (SEAMS) and TB Medication Adherence Scale (TBMAS). The effect test used a paired sample t-test with significance level p-value=0.05. This indicates an effect of changes in compliance behavior after being given health promotion by applying the Transtheoretical Model. Substantially, the level of adherence to taking medication in MDR-TB patients is also influenced by belief and motivation to recover. There is support from nurses at the puskesmas who often provide behavior change promotions, so patients have the strength and support of a good system that has a positive impact on increasing thoughts to achieve recovery. The importance of Increasing health promotion based on behavior change in MDR-TB patients can increase self-efficacy to recover so that it has an impact on adherence to taking medication.

Abstract

Abstract

COVID-19 infection causes various clinical manifestations so the treatment method is also different for each individual. Patient isolation is one of the treatments to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19. Asymptomatic to moderate symptomatic patients are usually asked to self-isolate, while those with severe and critical symptoms are isolated in hospital. Leukocyte examination is an important parameter and plays a role in determining patient follow-up. The aim of this study was to find out whether there were differences in leukocyte differential-counts in COVID-19 patients who were self-isolating and those isolated at Melawi Regional Hospital. This study had a cross-sectional design by taking data from medical records of COVID-19 patients at Melawi Regional Hospital during October 2021 to July 2022. The data taken were from 399 COVID-19 patients, consisting of 182 patients are self-isolating and 217 patients are isolating at Melawi Regional Hospital. In self-isolated patients, the average value of leukocyte count was 7.04 x 10³ cells/µL, and the leukocyte differential-counts was neutrophils 58.45%, lymphocytes 21.81%, monocytes 13.84%, eosinophils 1.52%, and basophils 4.38%. In isolated patients at Melawi Regional Hospital, the average value of leukocyte count was 9.89 x 10³ cells/µL, and the leukocyte differential-counts was neutrophils 75.09%, lymphocytes 12.97%, monocytes 8.38%, eosinophils 0.46%, and basophils 3.11%. The Mann-Whitney U test obtained a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means there is a significant difference in the results of leukocyte counts between self-isolated patients and those isolated at Melawi Regional Hospital.
