Abstract

Kueh Village, located in Aceh Besar District, is one of the centers of rattan handicrafts. However, the rattan production process in this village generates unmanaged solid and liquid waste, resulting in environmental pollution. This community service program aims to improve artisans' awareness and skills in waste management through the application of the Eco-Design concept. The implementation methods included socialization, training on waste processing, and the provision of supporting production equipment. The results showed that artisans successfully processed solid waste into new value-added products such as souvenirs, while liquid waste was minimized through safe storage and environmentally friendly dye alternatives. This program demonstrated a positive impact on artisan knowledge, environmental sustainability, and local economic enhancement.

Abstract

The activities of the Matang Seping Village community, Banda Mulia District, Aceh Aceh Tamiang Regency ,when carrying out civil acts such as borrowing, renting, pawning, debts, buying and selling, waqf,  or other cooperation are carried out verbally, often without witnesses to witness it. The community does not understand that letters and witnesses can clarify the problems that occur and provide evidence to resolve problems, either through customary court procedures or district courts. The partner group comes from the community. This community service activity is carried out by providing legal counseling on evidence in civil law to the community so that they prepare and use evidence in accordance with applicable law. The evidence recognized in civil cases consists of written evidence, witness evidence, suspicions, confessions, and oaths. The absence of evidence or weak evidence from the consequences of civil law acts will cause losses to one party. In addition, electronic evidence such as voice recordings, photos, videos, voice notes, or emails can also be used as evidence in court.

Abstract

Lango Village, located in Pante Ceureumen Subdistrict, West Aceh Regency, possesses significant natural resource potential, yet its utilization remains suboptimal. To enhance economic productivity and environmental sustainability, the minapolitan concept is implemented—an integrated system of agriculture and aquaculture that utilizes organic waste as fertilizer and recirculated water as a habitat for fish cultivation. This study aims to develop a minapolitan area through a participatory approach and community empowerment. The research methodology comprises several stages: initial data collection, feasibility study, design, community training, implementation, and evaluation. The development plan includes infrastructure construction, technical training, marketing strategies, and continuous monitoring and evaluation. Potential risks such as community resistance, infrastructure damage, weather dependence, and limited capital are addressed through mitigation strategies involving socialization, maintenance planning, climate adaptation, and funding resource identification. The results indicate that the local community has improved income levels, optimized the use of local resources, and established a sustainable economic system in Lango Village. The successful implementation of the minapolitan model positions Lango Village as a potential benchmark for efficient and sustainable resource management in surrounding regions.

Abstract

The local potential empowerment program through corn cracker innovation aims to improve the welfare of the community in Kampung Tengah Village, Kuala Batee District, Southwest Aceh Regency. By utilizing the abundant corn harvest, this program teaches production, packaging, and digital marketing skills to the community, especially housewives and MSME players. The methods used include participatory training, technical assistance, and the formation of joint business groups to ensure program sustainability. The program results show an increase in corn cracker production from 20 packs per day to 50 packs per day, as well as an increase in income from IDR 100,000 to IDR 250,000 per day. In addition to the economic impact, the program also strengthens social togetherness through cooperation in a joint business group. Diversification of corn crackers with different flavors and sizes has expanded the market reach outside the district. Constraints faced include product quality consistency and raw material supply chain stability, which can be overcome through collaboration with the government and related institutions. Program sustainability is ensured through the establishment of an integrated marketing network and community capacity building in business management. This corn cracker innovation is expected to become a sustainable model of local economic empowerment and can be replicated in other areas with similar agricultural potential.

Abstract

Political parties hold a strategic position and serve as a primary pillar in Indonesia's democratic system, acting as a bridge between government policies and the aspirations of the people. However, personal-oligarchic leadership and an inadequate cadre system have resulted in party decision-making being frequently dominated by the interests of individual chairpersons, thereby threatening the future of democracy. An inclusive, transparent, and tiered cadre system is essential to uphold democratic principles in political recruitment and the nomination of public officials. The phenomena of factionalism and internal patronage within parties further exacerbate the political landscape, evidenced by conflict cases in several major parties. The process of electing regional heads, as a key component of democracy, is also influenced by the failures in recruitment. The Constitutional Court's Decision Number 60/PUU-XXII/2024 abolished the discriminatory nomination threshold for regional head candidates that previously disadvantaged smaller parties and independent candidates, thereby broadening opportunities for inclusive political participation. A community-based method is employed in community service within political parties in Tegal Regency to enhance legal literacy regarding this decision, involving party cadres and community leaders through workshops and interactive socialisation. This initiative aims to promote healthy and democratic political participation at the local level, strengthen inclusive democracy, and foster legal awareness among the populace. This study provides a comprehensive overview of the political dynamics and changes in the electoral system within the context of contemporary Indonesian democracy.

Abstract

Desa Teuladan, located in kecamatan Lembah Seulawah, Aceh Besar Regency, has long been known as a center for patchouli cultivation, which has become the main source of income for the local community. However, limited processing facilities, particularly the lack of patchouli oil distillation equipment, have posed serious obstacles, leading to decreased farmer incomes. In an effort to maintain economic sustainability, some farmers have started to switch to cultivating robusta coffee, which is considered more stable in terms of market demand and selling price. Nevertheless, the desire to preserve patchouli as an identity commodity of the village remains strong. This community service activity was carried out to assist farmers in optimizing land use through the application of an intercropping system combining robusta coffee and patchouli. The stages of the activity included socialization of the intercropping concept, training on integrated cultivation techniques, preparation of seedlings, and discussions with farmers regarding the selection of appropriate planting patterns. Based on group discussions, the border method was considered easier to understand and apply, and more suitable for land conditions with existing natural shade trees. Therefore, the probability of adopting the border method as the main planting pattern is estimated at around 80%. This initiative is expected not only to help improve land productivity and diversify income but also to strengthen farmers’ capacity in managing a more adaptive and sustainable cultivation system.

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to address the lack of knowledge among vocational high school students about organizational structures required for entering the business world. By introducing students to the importance of institutions in business, the activity seeks to provide an understanding of institutional benefits and steps to establish. The approach involves delivering lectures on the definition and components of institutions, followed by a discussion on the practical steps to form an organization. Students were engaged in an interactive session where they learned about the types of institutions that can support their entrepreneurial ventures. The activity successfully increased students' awareness of the importance of institutions in business. Participants gained a better understanding of how institutions enhance bargaining power, open market opportunities, and foster collaboration among members. Students also recognized various institutional forms that can be developed to support business initiatives. This activity was limited to a single session at one vocational school, which may limit the generalizability of the findings. Future programs could involve multiple schools to gather broader insights.

Abstract

Every individual has a unique story and life background. Therefore, introducing local heroes to the younger generation in East Gane is of great importance. As part of North Maluku, South Halmahera holds the responsibility to preserve its history and elevate local figures as sources of inspiration and learning. Through educational institutions such as SMAN 4 South Halmahera, students can be nurtured to become future leaders who are not only intellectually capable but also rooted in historical awareness and local wisdom. In implementing this initiative, it is essential not only to share the heroic stories of North Maluku’s figures but also to teach the art of writing biographies. Writing a life story is one of the most effective ways to bring these values into the heart of the community. Through written texts, a person's life journey can be immortalized—not merely as a historical record, but as a reflection of courage, virtue, and a fighting spirit worthy of emulation.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the creativity and productivity of the people of Piyeung Datu Village, Montasik District, Aceh Besar Regency through training in making tote bags using ecoprint techniques based on the use of local leaves. The community service program was implemented by lecturers and students of KKN Abulyatama University by providing counseling, demonstrations, and direct assistance to the people of Piyeung Datu Village. The implementation method included material presentation, ecoprinting practice, and ongoing technical guidance. The results of the activity showed an increase in the skills of participants in producing tote bags with unique and valuable local plant leaf motifs, which were then given the product identity "Topida (Piyeung Datu Tote Bag)". This activity not only encourages community creativity, but also opens up opportunities for the formation of ecoprint-based business units with product diversification. Thus, this PKM program has the potential to support local economic empowerment and improve the welfare of the people of Piyeung Datu Village in a sustainable manner.
