Abstract

Home-based MSMEs play a strategic role in supporting rural economies, yet they continue to face challenges related to strengthening product identity and limited access to digital marketing. This community service activity was carried out in Karimunting Village with the aim of empowering MSMEs through branding and digital marketing awareness. The approach was conducted directly from house to house to reach business owners personally and foster more intensive communication. The implementation method included initial observation, preparation of outreach materials, door-to-door education, and evaluation through discussions and participant feedback. The materials delivered covered the importance of creating business logos, developing product catalogs, and utilizing social media as well as marketplaces as digital marketing platforms. The results showed that the majority of MSME owners felt supported in understanding the importance of product identity and had begun to try marketing their products online. This program serves as an initial foundation for the development of digital-based home-based MSMEs.

Abstract

Effective waste management is crucial for environmental sustainability. Utilizing waste through reuse and recycle techniques serves as a solution to mitigate the negative impacts of waste. This community service aims to educate students of the Department of Anthropology, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Halu Oleo, on the reuse and recycle techniques as an environmentally friendly waste management approach. The service partners are students who participate in training and socialization on how to repurpose used materials into useful products. The methods used include socialization, training, and hands-on practices related to repurposing used items such as plastic bottles, paper, and cardboard into crafts. The results of the community service show that the knowledge transfer through the provided counseling and training has motivated the participants to utilize waste produced daily and scattered waste in their living environment. Through the two techniques taught, participants were able to produce various products from materials once considered waste, transforming them into functional, artistic, and even edible items. The products created included bags, tissue holders, accessories, and snacks.

Abstract

The basic literacy skills of lower-grade students at Kranji 4 Public Elementary School in Purwokerto remain low, with many students unable to read and write well. Despite adequate access to technology, the use of gadgets is still limited to games and is not optimal for learning. This community service program aims to improve the reading and writing skills of lower-grade elementary school students through the implementation of an innovative digital literacy program. The methods used include Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), outreach, workshops, and the application of learning technology. The program integrates the revitalization of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) with a structured schedule of 15 minutes of daily reading, followed by writing activities. The digital component includes the use of learning applications, interactive media, and educational games for English and other subjects. Teachers received workshop training to develop interactive digital learning media, while parents were actively involved in supporting literacy activities at home. The program results showed significant improvements, with 87% of students improving their reading skills and 92% of students producing written works. The program successfully produced six anthologies with ISBNs containing 156 student works. Daily GLS activities have been proven to be effective in improving vocabulary and basic literacy skills, providing a positive impact on students, teachers, and parents in understanding the importance of digital literacy as a 21st-century skill.

Abstract

Kuala Secapah Village, located in Mempawah Hilir District, Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan, has untapped MSME potential due to low digital technology adoption, a lack of understanding of financial literacy, and limited resources to channel children's creativity. The Tanjungpura University KKM-PKM program aims to increase community capacity through empowering local MSMEs, inclusive financial literacy, and developing children's creativity. Activities include training on marketplaces and MSME branding (such as Facebook Business, Shopee, and Instagram), financial literacy education using the Spreadsheet application, as well as key chain and bracelet craft workshops for children. Using a participatory approach, this program seeks to improve MSME competitiveness, community financial management skills, and the creativity of the younger generation. The program's results indicate an increase in participants' understanding of digital marketing and financial literacy, which supports local economic independence.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve financial literacy and basic accounting skills for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Aceh Tamiang Regency. The results of the identification show that most MSMEs still face obstacles in recording and preparing financial reports that meet standards, thereby hampering access to financing and effective decision-making. The activity was carried out through basic accounting training covering transaction recording, profit and loss statement preparation, capital changes, and balance sheets. The implementation methods included seminars, report preparation simulations, and individual mentoring. Participants came from various sectors, such as culinary, handicrafts, services, and trade, spread across the sub-districts of Rantau, Karang Baru, Manyak Payed, and Kota Kuala Simpang. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' understanding and skills, as seen from the pre-test and post-test results and their ability to prepare financial reports more systematically. This activity is expected to improve business management efficiency, expand access to financing, and strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs in Aceh Tamiang. More broadly, this programme contributes to the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly in poverty reduction and inclusive economic growth.

Abstract

The Integrated Community Service Program (PKM) in Mekarbuana Village, Tegalwaru District, Karawang Regency, was implemented to enhance community character through education, digitalization, and social activities. The program included training on village website management, digital population census, environmental education, and the non-formal learning activity “Belajar Ceria”. The results indicate an improvement in digital literacy, social participation, and environmental awareness among villagers. The establishment of the village website and population data digitalization strengthened technology-based governance, while social and religious activities fostered solidarity and moral values in the community. This program demonstrates that collaboration between universities, local government, and the community can create sustainable social transformation.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (PKM) in Kertawangi Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, aims to strengthen the village’s tourism branding through digital education and community-based social engagement. The program was implemented using a participatory approach involving residents in installing street name signs, conducting educational activities at the elementary school, providing digital tourism promotion training, and organizing interactive social events. The results show an increase in digital literacy, students’ learning motivation, and community participation in managing local potential. The publication of tourism promotion content on social media has enhanced the village’s visibility as an educational tourism destination. Beyond its physical outputs, the program strengthened social cohesion, local cultural values, and residents’ capacity to utilize information technology. This PKM initiative demonstrates that collaboration between universities and rural communities can foster sustainable empowerment through education and digitalization.

Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology demands that Vocational High School (SMK) students, particularly those majoring in Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ), master basic programming skills and understand the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT). However, many students still struggle to systematically construct algorithmic logic and understand programming syntax. The Python language, known for its simple syntax, high flexibility, and broad community support, is a suitable alternative for introducing programming basics and practical IoT implementation. This community service activity aims to provide algorithm and programming training using Python, while introducing IoT concepts and practices to students of SMK Negeri 1 Bengkayang. The training was conducted in four stages: preparation, theoretical introduction, practical implementation, and evaluation. Evaluation was conducted with pre- and post-tests to measure the improvement in participants' understanding. The pre-test results showed an average score of 41.54 points, while the post-test increased to 66.67 points. In addition to the improved scores, participants also showed high enthusiasm and provided positive feedback on the interactive and hands-on training method. This activity has had a tangible impact on improving participants' digital literacy and technical skills, and provides an initial foundation for developing competencies in programming and IoT technology. This training also has the potential to be replicated in other schools as a technology-based applied learning model relevant to industry needs

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas optimalisasi pengelolaan website Kantor Desa Semenok sebagai upaya meningkatkan pelayanan publik. Kegiatan KKM-PKM ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan kapasitas aparatur desa dalam mengelola sistem administrasi digital serta memperluas akses masyarakat terhadap informasi publik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan langsung kepada perangkat desa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan digital aparatur desa dalam mengelola data, berita, dan informasi melalui website desa. Website desa berfungsi sebagai sarana transparansi dan media informasi masyarakat, mendorong partisipasi warga serta meningkatkan efisiensi layanan publik. Implikasi kegiatan ini menegaskan pentingnya literasi digital dalam mewujudkan tata kelola pemerintahan desa yang efektif dan transparan.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the competencies of students at SMKN 7 Padang in smartphone-based video production. The training was designed to bridge the skills gap between the creative industry’s demands and the students’ current abilities, particularly those in the Broadcasting and Filmmaking department. The implementation used a participatory approach through several stages: needs assessment, material development, technical training, production practice, editing using CapCut, and evaluation through questionnaires. A total of 40 students participated and were divided into four groups to support collaborative practice. The results show significant improvement in both technical skills and creativity. Participants successfully produced audiovisual works based on scripts and demonstrated progress in shooting, editing, and digital publication. Questionnaire results indicated very high satisfaction levels, with implementation indicators above 71% and outcome indicators above 90%, reflecting the program’s effectiveness in enhancing students’ knowledge and skills. Recommendations include advanced training on directing, advanced editing, YouTube channel management, and strengthened collaboration between higher education institutions and schools.
