Abstract

This study aim to determineeffect of barrier hops and bench jumping exercises on increasing Inkado athletes’ speed in mawashi geri. This study employed an experimental method with a two groups pretest-posttest design. The research population was athletes form Inkado Tanjungpinang City. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, with the criteria that (1) attendance was at least 75% (actively participating in training). (2) sampel were athletes who participated in training at Dojo Inkado Tanjungpinang City with an age range of 9-19 years, (3) gender male and female. (4) the length of the training period is at least 6 months. Based on these criteria, there were 24 people. Tthe barrier hops hypothesis test with a significant value of 0.000, jumping up and down the bench is 0.000, and the corparison of the two experiments is 0.119. The results showed that based on the T test found a significant value of 0.119 greater than 0.05. These results explain that there is no significant difference between the Posttest Barrier Hops Exercise and Bench Jump Exercises for Mawashi Geri in Karate. The Posttest average of the Barrier Hops group was 72.83 and the group Jumping Up and Down the Benc had an average of 74.00. seen from the difference in the posttest value of barrier hop and jumoing up and down the banch is 1.167. Thus the duffereence in the posttest shows that jumping up and down the bench is better than barrier hops exercise to improve mawashi geri in karate.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the coach roles in youth football coaching at ASIFA (Aji Santoso International Football Academy) through an instructional communication framework. This research uses an approach method with two data collection techniques which include: Interviews with ASIFA coaches, and participant observations at ASIFA football coaching. The data analysis technique combines interactive analysis models and the theory of instructional communication. The results of this study showed that the role of coaches at ASIFA in the instructional communication framework can be classified into two types, namely: 1) Coach as communicators-instructors; and 2) Coach as communicator-facilitator. The difference in type has implications for the communication approach used by the coaches, which is mapped into a rhetorical approach and a relational approach. However, the type of coaches and the communication approach used by the coaches has a relationship with the coaching context that occurs. This research contributes to the formulation of an instructional communication quadrant model that can be carried out by coaches in youth football coaching.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of weight training using circuit methods on aerobic fitness, body fat percentage, muscle mass percentage, and hand grip strength. This study is a one-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental study with a sample of the elderly gymnastics group Sehat Bugar Ceria in Karanganyar Regency, Indonesia. Twenty-seven study subjects aged 60–75 participated in the exercise for 12 meetings. All research subjects can take all pretests and posttests in the form of a six-minute walk test, a hand grip strength test using a handgrip dynamometer, and body composition testing using bioelectrical impedance analysis. Changes that occurred before and after exercise were analyzed using paired t-tests. This study showed that aerobic fitness increased significantly (p = 0.001), body fat percentage decreased significantly (p = 0.008), but there was no significant change in the percentage of muscle mass (p 0.05) or hand grip strength (p 0.05). The results of this study showed that weight training using circuit methods can improve aerobic fitness and reduce body fat percentage in the elderly group.

Abstract

Decreased cognitive function in the elderly is the leading cause of inability to carry out normal daily activities, as well as a high level of reliance on others in caring for themselves. The many problems that arise due to decreased cognitive function require a healthy aging process so that decreased cognitive function does not cause health problems in the lives of the elderly. Decreased cognitive function in the elderly is the biggest cause of inability to carry out normal daily activities and is also the cause of the elderly experiencing a high level of dependence on others in caring for themselves. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of tandem walking exercises in improving the cognitive function of the elderly. This research is experimental with a one-group pre and post-test design. Target population in this study were the elderly who experienced cognitive impairment in Dangin Puri Kauh Village, Denpasar Utara District. Sampling method used in this research is purposive sampling. The research sample consisted of 24 people who were given tandem walking exercise. Measurement of cognitive function was carried out using the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE), which was measured before and after being given training. Data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS Version 25.0 application. The results of testing the hypothesis using the wilcoxon rank test obtained an average before training of 22.46 and an average after training of 27.08 with a value of p = 0.000. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that tandem walking exercises can improve cognitive function in the elderly

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the role of parents and coaches on the character of junior tennis players in Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). This research is a correlational study using a quantitative approach. Data colection techniques using a questionnaire. The sample for this study consisted of 32 junior tennis respondents in DIY using a purposive sampling technique. The reliability and validity of the instruments used in this study have been examined, and experts have been consulted. Technique for data analysis based on multiple regression. Based on the results of the t-test analysis, the significant value of the variable role of parents is p 0.05 and coaches is p 0.05. This shows that partially the role of parents and coaches influences the character of DIY junior tennis players. Using the F test, the analysis yielded a significance level of p less than 0.05, while the value of Rsquare=0.719, meaning that 71.9% of the characteristics of DIY junior tennis players are influenced by the role of parents and coaches. Thus, it can be concluded that the roles of parents and coaches simultaneously have an influence on the character of DIY junior tennis players. Therefore, in providing character education to junior tennis players both inside and outside the field, external encouragement is needed, both from parents and coaches.

Abstract

pplying the right training methods can lead to optimal athlete performance. The use of one training method is common, and the use of a combination of two training methods is something new in training. The purpose of this study was to reveal the effectiveness of the combination of split jump training as a plyometric exercise with short sprint training on the leg muscle power capacity and agility of volleyball players. The research method in this research is a quasi experiment involving 40 samples (age: 20.85 ± 0.89 years, height: 178.69 ± 6.51 cm, and weight: 72.47 ± 8.02 kg). This study used a modified randomized pre-test and post-test design without a control group. The population of this study were volleyball players at Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha). Purposive sampling was chosen to determine the sample, namely 40 male student players. The sample was given training combining split jumps with short sprints for 4 weeks with details of 12 training sessions (3 times a week). The Jumpa DF and agility t-test were chosen as instruments to measure leg muscle power and agility. The collected data was analyzed using a paired t-test with a significance level of 5%. Before testing the hypothesis, start by testing the normality of the data using the Kolmogorov-Smirnova test and the homogeneity of the data using Levene’s with the help of SPSS 16.0. The results achieved show that there is a significant influence on the leg muscle power (sig 0.05) and agility (sig 0.05) of volleyball players. Based on the results of this data analysis, it can be concluded that the combination of split jump and short sprint training for 4 weeks has a significant effect on the results of leg muscle power and agility in male volleyball players. Seeing the findings above, it is hoped that volleyball coaches can apply this training method, specifically in the pre-competition phase, which requires a short time to improve leg muscle strength and agility at the same time.

Abstract

In the education curriculum in Indonesia, physical education is a medium for developing the potential of student learning outcomes in a comprehensive (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor) and sustainable manner. However, at the same time, teachers have not maximized analytical thinking supplements in learning and mastering student movements to optimize their physical education learning outcomes. This research used quantitative methods to examine the effect of analytical thinking skills on student learning outcomes. The participants were 24 elementary school students (mean age = 10.17+0.38) who were determined using a purposive sampling technique. Data on thinking skills were collected using instruments and rubrics for assessing analytical thinking skills. While the learning outcomes data use the final value of physical education learning. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and simple linear regression analysis. Descriptive analysis showed that students' analytical thinking skills were moderate (58.34%), and learning outcomes were good (100%). There is a significant influence between analytical thinking skills on student learning outcomes (t = 2.312, α = 0.031) with a determination value of 19.6%. Considering the essence of analytical thinking skills for learning outcomes and supporting students' life skills, the orientation of physical education learning outcomes parameters and the comprehensive and sustainable integration of analytical thinking into students' physical activities must be discussed further.
