Abstract

This research is motivated by student learning outcomes in the basic electricity and electronics learning process which is not as expected. Therefore, an active and innovative learning model is needed. The research method used is the experimental method, using the one-group posttest design. In the experimental class, the Blended Learning model was treated. For the sample used in the study, the students of class X TITL at SMK Negeri 1 Bukittinggi. . Learning outcomes assessment instruments use cognitive tests and the distribution of effective questionnaires. The results of the study prove that the Blended Learning learning model can effectively improve student learning outcomes as evidenced by student learning outcomes that have reached the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) of 83.42 and from affective or attitude assessments with a percentage of 64.03% in good categories in subjects Basic Electricity and Electronics, especially in the material Analyzing power and electrical energy

Abstract

This paper aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of household electrical appliance repair training that is applied to youth Adolescent Child Care Social Institutions in Lubuk Alung, Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Where this paper is an evaluation of the implementation of community service activities in the PSAABR. The subject of this activity is 15 foster children who take Electricity skills in Lubuk Alung Main Budi PSAABR 2018 Period II (July - December 2018). The instrument used is a questionnaire in terms of performance and product results. The results obtained were the average performance score of 82.3, while the results of the product assessment obtained an average value of 88.75. From the achievement of student learning outcomes in mastering the training material and the competencies obtained were in the high category (45%), and very high (55%), so it was concluded that the implementation of household electrical repairs training on youths Budi Adolescent Childcare Institution Main Lubuk Alung District of Pariama has been effective

Abstract

This study aims to produce a product in the form of an effective Basic Electrical and Electronics practicum for students of class X TITL at SMK Negeri 1 Bangkinang. This type of research is a research and development type, where this research uses a 4D development model with four stages, namely definition, design, development and dissemination. Data collection in this study was carried out using four research instruments, namely validation questionnaires, practicality questionnaires, work assessment sheets (rubrics) and distribution questionnaires. The results obtained in the limited effectiveness trial, with an average score of students who completed 90% with the number of students 9 out of 10 students who had fulfilled learning mastery according to classical mastery requirements, namely >85% with an effective category to use. Thus, the Basic Electrical and Electronics practicum worksheet is declared to have been effectively used in the DLE practicum in class X TITL at SMK Negeri 1 Bangkinang.

Abstract

The imbalance load of distribution transformers often occurs.This is due to the fact that the load time amongst consumers is not the same, so that there is a difference in the value for each R, S, and T phase. The value difference of the phase causes overload in several phases so as the current emerges in neutral transformers. The current flowing in the neutral transformers causes the losses. In this research, the identification of the overload and the calculation of the distribution transformer load with the IEC reference standard which is allowed for 80% and the calculation of the imbalance transformer load with the 5% standard, then the losses resulting from the presence of neutral currents were carried out. There are three transformers in the Hangtuah feeder that have a load exceeded the standard, namely the DRI 0157, DRI 0241, and DRI 0065 transformers. The calculations for the three transformers are taken from measurement data in the form of voltage and current values for each phase during the daytime and nighttime and are simulated using ETAP 12.6.0 software. The symmetrical component method was used to obtain the imbalance value of the transformer load based on the measurement results and the ETAP simulation. The result of this research is the imbalance load occured in the three transformers. DRI 0241 is the transformer that has the largest percentage of an imbalance load at night. At nighttime, based on the measurement results of the DRI 0241, the transformer load is 80% and 65% at daytime, while for the imbalance load at nighttime and daytime are 32.2% and 29.8%, respectively. The greater the loading of the transformer, the larger the imbalance loading of transformer becomes. The current in neutral transformer generated losses in the amount of 45 A and 2.4% at nighttime while for 33 A and 1.2% at daytime. The neutral current affects the values of losses that the higher it is, the bigger the losses appear in a transformer.

Abstract

Abstract  power is a source of strength that has a very critical role in normal existence, beginning from domestic affairs, workplaces, and so forth. If the electricity is cut off or dead, a lot of work using these electronic devices will be neglected. If a power cut occurs due to a disruption in the distribution line, the public can provide an information report in the form of a telephone call or visit the PLN office to report to the operator if in their area the electricity has problems. However, unlike people in areas such as rural areas, there is very little attention to this kind of information and it is difficult for operators to monitor distribution channels in the area. Therefore, it is necessary to make a monitoring tool for the status of electrical disturbances on an Arduino-based distribution channel, so that if there is a disturbance or disconnection in the distribution channel it can be quickly detected. Where the system works with the Arduino Mega2560 control and is monitored using Android via the Blynk programming. The system begins by activating the device and is continued by connecting (pairing) the ESP8266 with Android Wifi, with the name test wifi and password 88888888, if it is connected, the user can open the Blynk application on a Smartphone. The ACS712 sensor on the device is used to detect current and the ZMPT101B sensor is used to detect voltage and the results of the reading will be processed by Arduino Mega2560. Then if there is a short circuit / disconnection of electricity in the power line, the notification will enter the android via the Blynk application. The process of sending data from Arduino is carried out by ESP8266 which has been configured with Arduino. So that monitoring of disturbance status can be seen on Android

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan kepada pemuda putus sekolah yang berada di Panti Sosial Asuhan Anak Binaan Remaja (PSAABR) Budi Utama Lubuk Alung Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pemberian materi dan praktik pemasangan instalasi listrik domestik. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah guna peningkatan keterampilan bidang pemasangan instalasi listrik domestik sehingga dapat membantu Panti Sosial Asuhan Anak Binaan Remaja (PSAABR) Budi Utama untuk meningkatkan Kompetendi anak asuh. Materi yang diberikan dalam pelatihan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini antara lain: sambungan kabel, loop kabel dan pemasangan kabel, instalasi box sekering, saklar tunggal dan saklar seri serta merangkai lampu, instalasi saklar, dan stop kontak. Pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat tentang instalasi listrik domestic ini diawali dengan tes tertulis untuk melihat kemampuan awal peserta, rata-rata keberhasilan peserta dalam mengerjakan soal sebesar 57,5. Setelah kegiatan pelatihan juga dilakukan test tertulis dengan nilai rat-rata yang didapat 78.0, dengan demikian kegiatan ini dapat dikatakan berhasil dalam meningkatkan kompetensi peserta dibidang instalasi listrik domestik.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membangun pembangkit listrik tenaga angin (PLTAngin) sebagai sumber energi alternatif  terbarukan dengan menggunakan turbin angin sumbu horizontal untuk memenuhi kebutuhan energi rumah tangga masyarakat nelayan di Muaro Ganting Kelurahan Parupuk Kecamatan Koto Tangah yang sampai saat ini belum mampu untuk memasang dan menggunakan listrik PLN apalagi saat ini harga listrik PLN per KWh terus meningkat. Disamping itu, melalui kegiatan ini serangkaian perencanaan yang intensif akan dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektifitas pembangkit listrik dari berbagai aspek seperti pemilihan turbin angin yang sesuai dengan kondisi daerah, pemilihan material, optimalisasi instalasi,dll. Dengan kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat membantu program pemerintah dalam penyediaan listrik bagi warga Muaro Ganting Kelurahan Parupuk Kecamatan Koto Tangah untuk meningkatkan taraf hidup dan kesejahteraan masyarakat.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce a Learning Module that is valid, practical, and effective. This type of research is research and development. This study uses a 4-D model research procedure which consists of empar stages namely defining, designing, developing and disseminating. The subject of this study was the tenth grade students of Muhammadiyah 1 SMK Padang. The validation test consists of 3 validators, practicality tests carried out by 2 subject teachers and 30 students of the XTITL class of the Muhammadiyah 1 Padang Vocational High School as respondents to the development of the learning module. Data effectiveness is obtained from the assessment of student learning outcomes using post test. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the development of this module was declared successful in producing media that are valid, practical, and effective. Validity test results from 3 validators were declared valid with an average of 90.66% categorized as very valid. The practical test results by subject teachers with an average of 94.76% are very practical, while the practicality test results by students an average of 93.08% are categorized as very practical. Effectiveness test results obtained classical completeness of 86.66%. Thus the learning module as a learning medium is effectively used in the learning process at school.

Abstract

Proses pemanasan logam pada umumnya masih menggunakan tungku pemanas konvensional berbahan bakar gas, kayu, dan batu bara, dapat mengurangi kualitas logam disebabkan oleh zat- zat hasil pembakaran.  Penelitian bertujuan untuk merancang tungku pemanas logam dengan sistem induction heater berbasiskan mikrokontroller Atmega32. Tungku pemanas ini memanfaatkan arus induksi untuk memanaskan logam sehingga tidak ada zat-zat hasil pembakaran yang dapat mengurangi kualitas logam tersebut. Proses pengujian tungku pemanas logam dilakukan dengan memanaskan 3 buah logam dengan ketebalan yang berbeda-beda, sehingga dapat kita ketahui kalor dan daya rata-rata yang dapat dihasilkan oleh tungku pemanas logam. Berberdasarkan beberapa kali pengujian dapat diketahui bahwa daya rata-rata yang dibutuhkan oleh tungku pemanas logam adalah  14.8 0C / 1 Watt, dan kalor rata-rata yang dihasilkan 1.301,6 / 1 Watt

Abstract

The Department of Electrical Engineering, especially the S1 (Education) study program, has carried out an online learning process in the even semester of the 2019-2020 academic year as an option to make the learning process continue during the COVID-19 outbreak. This study aims to analyze the obstacles experienced by undergraduate students in Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Padang in the implementation of the online learning process. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. Data retrieval was carried out by distributing a googleform link in which there were 14 statements and distributed to 77 students of the 2017-2020 undergraduate study program. In this study, the results obtained indicate that the most significant obstacle experienced by students in the implementation of online learning is the lack of good delivery of material by lecturers. The online learning process really needs to be optimized and also needs to be evaluated to improve the implementation of online learning in the future.
