Abstract

Nowadays, the trend of cosmetic usage is not only significant for women, but men have also become a substantial segment of the cosmetic market. “Along with this, maintaining consumer loyalty has become a major challenge for many companies. Previous studies have examined the factors influencing repurchase intention, but there has been no research on the role of consumer satisfaction in mediating the influence of these factors. Empirical data were gathered using questionnaires provided to 168 respondents and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach with SmartPLS. The findings of this study demonstrate that consumer satisfaction can strengthen the connection between product quality, service quality, and brand image and their influence on repurchase intention. These findings are expected to provide valuable contributions to cosmetic industry players in formulating effective strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and promote purchase loyalty.” This study is also anticipated to serve as a valuable resource for future researchers who aim to explore and analyze the various factors that impact consumers' intention to make repeat purchases within the cosmetics industry.

Abstract

Digital transformation in government governance is one of the main strategies for increasing the efficiency and quality of public services. The smart city concept is present as an innovative solution in facing various urban challenges by utilizing digital technology. This research aims to analyze the implementation of the Electronic Based Government System (SPBE) as a policy in supporting smart cities in Klungkung Regency and identify factors that hinder its implementation. The research method used is a qualitative approach using interview, observation and documentation techniques. The research results show that although SPBE has been implemented to support the integration of government services, there are still significant obstacles, especially in the aspects of infrastructure and human resource readiness. The geographical constraints of Klungkung Regency, which consists of land and islands, also pose a challenge in equalizing digital access. By improving infrastructure, strengthening human resource capacity, and optimizing policy coordination between the central and regional governments, it is hoped that the implementation of smart cities in Klungkung Regency can run more effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges of recruitment and retention of weavers in the Balinese endek weaving industry using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Endek as one of Bali's cultural heritages has high aesthetic, historical, and economic value, but its sustainability faces serious challenges due to the regeneration crisis and the low attractiveness of the weaving profession. This study involved six main criteria, namely: work environment, stability, salary, compensation, career development, and involvement. The AHP results show that the work environment has the highest weight (0.188), followed by work stability (0.148), and compensation (0.225) which, although high in weight, are not consistent in perception. These findings indicate that the main challenges in retention lie in the structural aspects and work welfare, while challenges in recruitment are closely related to the low interest of the younger generation and the lack of career development. Based on these findings, a strategy for strengthening recruitment is formulated through cultural campaigns, regenerative training, and educational collaboration, as well as a strategy for increasing retention through improving the work environment, guaranteeing stability, and productivity-based incentives. This study suggests strengthening the endek weaving industry ecosystem sustainably through a pentahelix approach involving the government, academics, communities, business actors, and the media.

Abstract

The globalization era encourages Indonesia to improve the quality of human resources (HR) as the primary driver of national development. Udayana University, as a Public Service Agency, relies heavily on lecturers and educational staff; however, the increasing number of retired civil servants and reliance on contract employees have created challenges in maintaining performance. This study aims to evaluate the effect of organizational justice, financial compensation, and leadership on job satisfaction and employee performance. A quantitative survey was conducted with a saturated sample of 169 contract employees in the General Bureau of Udayana University. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) with SmartPLS 4.1.0. The results show that job satisfaction has a significant positive effect on employee performance, and leadership has a significant positive effect on job satisfaction. In contrast, organizational justice and financial compensation do not have a significant direct effect on either employee performance or job satisfaction. These findings highlight the importance of non-financial and cultural factors in enhancing employee outcomes and provide practical implications for university management to strengthen leadership practices, intrinsic motivation, and organizational culture.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia’s economic growth has transformed consumer behavior, driving demand for malls that serve not only as retail centers but also as hubs for leisure, dining, and social interaction. In Bali, this trend is intensified by the mix of local residents and tourists with diverse expectations. The growing number of malls and rising competition highlight the need to identify key attributes that shape customer satisfaction and preferences, as misalignment may reduce competitiveness in the tourism-driven market.Purpose: This study aims to examine how design, service quality, and facilities influence customer satisfaction and preferences in modern shopping malls in Bali, and to assess the mediating role of customer satisfaction in these relationships.Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative research approach was adopted to test the conceptual framework. Data were obtained from 218 respondents who had visited three major shopping malls in Bali, selected through purposive sampling to ensure familiarity with multiple mall environments. A structured online questionnaire was using a Semantic Differential Scale captured perceptions of five latent variables: design, service quality, facilities, customer satisfaction, and customer preferences. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0, enabling the assessment of direct, indirect, and mediating effects in line with the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) framework.Findings/Result: The results indicate that design and service quality significantly enhance customer satisfaction but do not directly influence customer preferences. Facilities emerge as the most influential factor, exerting a direct positive impact on preferences and an indirect effect through satisfaction. Customer satisfaction itself has a significant effect on preferences, underscoring its mediating role in linking mall attributes to behavioral intentions such as loyalty and revisit decisions. Conclusion: Customer satisfaction serves as a central bridge between mall attributes and customer preferences, underscoring the need for mall operators to invest in comprehensive facilities while maintaining high design standards and service quality to foster positive shopping experiences. In Bali’s tourism-driven retail sector, facilities that combine convenience, comfort, and leisure potential are pivotal to securing competitive advantage and encouraging repeat visits.Originality/value (State of the art): This research contributes to retail management literature by applying the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework to integrate design, service quality, and facilities into a unified behavioral model explaining both satisfaction and preference formation. By focusing on a tourism-driven market, this study offers practical insights for mall operators, investors, and policymakers aiming to enhance customer experiences and strengthen brand loyalty. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of Shopee Paylater's user-friendliness, risk perception, lifestyle choices, and trust on Indonesian millennials and Generation Z consumers' buying habits. The study involves 250 participants chosen through purposive sampling and gathers data through online questionnaire surveys conducted via Google Forms. Quantitative analysis in this research is conducted using the Smart PLS 4.0 software platform. The findings of the research reveal that ease of use, risk perception, and lifestyle choices positively and significantly influence trust. Additionally, Certainly, a strong and meaningful link exists between lifestyle decisions and their impact on influencing spending habits. It's worth emphasizing that the direct impacts of user-friendliness and perceived risk on spending behavior are relatively limited. Importantly, the primary driver of spending behavior is lifestyle choices, while the influence of ease of use and risk factors is channeled indirectly through trust.
