Abstract

This paper has analyzed dominant zinc element in sphalerite naturally found together with galena in mineral ore. Since pyrometallurgical route related to roasting process is very common to mineral dressing, therefore, this investigation has studied the effect of varied roasting time (30 min, 60 min, and 90 min) and temperature (500oC, 600oC, and 700oC) on zinc mineral examination using XRD (X-Ray Diffraction) and zinc element using XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) analyses. Previous studies usually applied cheaper AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrometer) for zinc analysis in aqueous solution, however, sphalerite is a solid matrix and therefore, this study has applied XRF to analyze zinc. Pyrometallurgical process of zinc mineral in sphalerite is related to mineral transformation in the form of ZnSO4, ZnS, and ZnO that cannot be detected by XRF. Therefore, this study has used XRD that can observe mineral transformation.   The XRD pattern shows four intense peaks at 2θ (28o, 47o, 56o, and 76o) justified sphalerite (ZnS) sample with little amount of pyrite (FeS2) and galena (PbS) as impurities. The XRF analysis shows from 30 min to 90 min, the Zn content has increased remarkably at 700oC and Zn content looked stagnant at 500oC, while Zn content increased dramatically from 60 min to 90 min at 600oC. During roasting process at high temperature, ZnS mineral converted to ZnO and expelled SO2 gas due to oxidation reaction causing weight reduction. The study is valuable for mineral processing in searching for optimization.

Abstract

Desa Bantar Karet, Kecamatan Nanggung, Kabupaten Bogor, Jawa Barat, merupakan wilayah di sekitar area pertambangan emas yang rentan terhadap dampak negatif aktivitas penambangan ilegal, terutama pasca berakhirnya operasional Tambang Emas Pongkor. Kondisi ini memerlukan upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat agar mampu mengelola sumber daya lokal secara berkelanjutan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat lingkar tambang melalui pemberdayaan berbasis potensi lokal non-tambang serta mendorong partisipasi masyarakat dalam pengelolaan lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif melalui sosialisasi, diskusi kelompok, pelatihan keterampilan, dan konseling lingkungan yang melibatkan masyarakat serta aparat pemerintah desa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap dampak pertambangan ilegal dan konsep pemberdayaan masyarakat lingkar tambang. Kegiatan yang diikuti sekitar 50 peserta ini memperoleh respons sangat positif, dengan hasil angket menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat mencapai 100%. Program PKM ini diharapkan menjadi model pemberdayaan masyarakat berkelanjutan di wilayah sekitar pertambangan serta memperkuat kolaborasi antara masyarakat, pemerintah, dan akademisi.

Abstract

Produktivitas dalam kegiatan penambangan sangat dipengaruhi oleh kondisi operasional, terutama pada proses pengupasan tanah penutup (overburden). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan produktivitas alat gali muat Komatsu PC1250SP- 8 melalui perbaikan kondisi jalan tambang dengan metode Unsurfaced Road Condition Index (URCI). Evaluasi dilakukan pada jalan hauling dari front menuju disposal di PT Antareja Mahada Makmur, Kalimantan Timur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbaikan kondisi jalan secara signifikan meningkatkan nilai URCI dan menurunkan waktu edar (cycle time), yang bertujuan untuk peningkatan produktivitas alat berat. Dengan strategi perbaikan jalan yang terukur berdasarkan parameter URCI, efisiensi alat angkut meningkat dan waktu tunggu berkurang untuk excavator dapat diminimalkan.

Abstract

Produktivitas alat angkut pada kegiatan tambang terbuka sangat dipengaruhi oleh kondisi jalan angkut, terutama geometri jalan seperti kemiringan (grade) dan lebar. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Pit Batinmurung, PT. Tunas Muda Pertiwi Site Obi, untuk mengevaluasi dampak geometri jalan terhadap waktu edar (cycle time) dan produktivitas alat angkut. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara primer melalui observasi lapangan dan pengukuran kondisi jalan, serta data sekunder berupa catatan ritasi dan produksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa beberapa ruas jalan memiliki grade >12% dan lebar

Abstract

Land subsidence has long occurred around the Special Capital Region of Jakarta. It is important to know and deal with Land subsidence events which also cause various negative impacts. Aim: When large amounts of groundwater are withdrawn from certain types of rocks, such as fine-grained sediments, land subsidence occurs. The rock compacts because the water helps to keep the ground in place. When the water is removed, the rocks collapse in on themselves.The immediate impact is the building collapse around the Kota Tua of DKI Jakarta. Methodology and Results: The research method used is a quantitative descriptive survey method by observing the amount of land subsidence that occurs in the Kota Tua area and its surroundings. The results showed that there has been a vertical land subsidence that varies between 20-60 cm. Based on the results of the resistivity values and coordinates plotted on the Regional Geological Map (Jakarta and Kep Seribu), the research location is classified into Lithology: Clay, Sand Silt, Gravel, and Pebbles (Quartenary deposits). The phenomenon, land subsidence, is caused by a combination of various parameters, including natural consolidation of alluvial soils, excessive groundwater extraction, and also building loads from infrastructure development and tectonic factors. Conclusion, significance, and impact study: Knowing the value of land subsidence and its location is expected to support urban planning, basic infrastructure planning and development, housing, settlement planning, and local financial improvement in efforts to mitigate land subsidence disasters.
