Abstract

In education, reading ability is a very important basic skill. However, not all students are able to master reading skills well, especially students who have dyslexia. Based on initial observations at SD Negeri 2 Sukamulya, it was found that several students had difficulty recognizing letters, arranging letters into words, and reading fluently, thus hampering the learning process. Therefore, learning media is needed that suits the characteristics of dyslexic students, one of which is through the use of Canva-based audio-visual media. This research aims to determine the characteristics of dyslexic students, describe the application of Canva audio-visual media, and analyze the effect of its use on improving the reading ability of dyslexic students at SD Negeri 2 Sukamulya. This research uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method and a One Group Pretest–Posttest design. The research subjects were five dyslexic students who were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through reading and observation tests, while data analysis used normality tests and hypothesis testing in the form of paired sample t-test. The results of the research showed that there was an increase in students' reading abilities after being given treatment using Canva audio-visual media. The average pretest score of 38 increased to 52 on the posttest. The results of the hypothesis test show a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.033 < 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of Canva-based audio-visual media has a significant effect on improving the reading ability of dyslexic students at SD Negeri 2 Sukamulya.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of Islamic political values ​​on the political attitudes of Muslim youth in Baubau City. Islamic political values ​​are a set of principles derived from Islamic teachings that emphasize justice, deliberation, equal rights, and trustworthiness in social and state life. This study used a qualitative approach with a literature review and descriptive analysis. The findings indicate that internalization of Islamic political values ​​contributes significantly to shaping the political attitudes of Muslim youth—particularly in terms of political participation, democratic orientation, and views on social and political norms. These values ​​also result in more inclusive, tolerant, and active political attitudes in national and state life

Abstract

Pemerintah desa dapat menyelenggarakan berbagai program, seperti pelatihan keterampilan, penyediaan akses permodalan, dan bantuan bibit/ternak, yang secara langsung berdampak pada peningkatan produktivitas dan pendapatan masyarakat. Abstract

Introduction: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a major public health problem in Indonesia. Insufficient public knowledge about transmission and prevention contributes to high disease incidence. Objective: This study aimed to assess the level of community knowledge regarding DHF transmission and prevention in the working area of Puskesmas Kota Matsum, Medan Area District. Methods: An analytic survey with a cross-sectional design was conducted involving 98 respondents who had previously experienced DHF. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis. Results: Most respondents were female (56.1%) and aged 26–35 years (51.0%). Approximately 53.0% had good knowledge of DHF. A significant relationship was found between knowledge level and DHF prevention behavior (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Community knowledge is significantly associated with DHF prevention. Continuous health education is needed to reduce DHF incidence in the Puskesmas Kota Matsum area

Abstract

The high-energy milling (HEM) synthesis method has produced activated carbon powder from rubber ore shell waste. The activated carbon was prepared using a chemical method with activation temperatures varying between 400, 500, and 600°C. Temperature optimization resulted in activated carbon with a maximum carbon content at 600°C. The activated carbon was then milled for various times: 0, 30, 60, and 90 minutes. The crystallinity and surface morphology of the samples were then confirmed using an X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) characterization. Based on the XRD graph, the percentage of structural regularity, or degree of crystallinity, of the activated carbon tended to decrease from 18.17% without milling treatment to 17.52% at 30 minutes of milling, 17.45% at 60 minutes of milling, and 17.35% at 90 minutes of milling. SEM images also show a decrease in the average pore diameter from approximately 0.45 µm to 0.20 µm with a more homogeneous intraparticle morphology structure when the milling time is increased from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. This study demonstrates the potential of rubber seed shell waste for processing into activated carbon. The HEM method can significantly reduce the grain size of activated carbon and increase its surface area and reactivity, making it more effective in applications as an adsorbent and filter.
