Abstract

Selecting a business location is a important strategic decision for UMKM, often hindered by subjectivity. This research aims to determine the best business location in Dumai City for UMKM owners. The methodology integrates the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for criteria weighting and the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) for alternative ranking. Data were collected from 20 respondents via questionnaires and interviews. Evaluation criteria included rental cost, accessibility, number of competitors, and location crowdedness . AHP results identified "nearby competitors" as the most significant criterion with a weight of 0.34. TOPSIS analysis selected "Near Offices" as the best alternative with a preference value of 0.63, followed by the city center (0.56), residential areas (0.33), and campus areas (0.29). These findings provide an objective basis for entrepreneurs in location decision-making to minimize investment risks.

Abstract

Abstract

The rapid growth of e-commerce platforms demands recommendation systems capable of delivering relevant and personalized product suggestions to users. Collaborative filtering has emerged as a dominant approach due to its ability to leverage user interaction patterns without relying on explicit product content information. This study aims to examine and design an e-commerce product recommendation system using collaborative filtering by integrating empirical findings from previous studies. A quantitative approach based on recommendation system modeling was employed, utilizing user interaction data such as purchase history, ratings, and browsing behavior. The results indicate that collaborative filtering significantly improves recommendation accuracy, user engagement, and sales potential, despite challenges such as cold start and data sparsity. The integration of hybrid models, machine learning techniques, and neural networks has proven effective in addressing these limitations. This study contributes both conceptually and practically to the development of adaptive and sustainable e-commerce recommendation systems.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed creative industries by enabling machines to generate aristic works such as images, designs, and logos used in commercial activities. The increasing use of AI-generated content raise important legal questions concerning authorship, ownership, and legal protection under intellectual property law. This study aims to analyze the legal status of AI-generated logos within the Indonesian intellectual property framework and to identify the most appropiate legal mechanism for protecting such works. This research applies a normative legal research method using statutory, conceptual, and comparative approach. The study examines Indonesian copyright law under Law No. 28 Of 2014 Concerning Copyright and Trademark Protection under Law No. 20 Of 2016 Concerning Trademarks and Geographical Indications. The results indicate that Indonesia copyright law remain human-centered, meaning that works generated autonomously by artificial intelligence do not fully meet the legal requierements for copyright law. However, AI-generated logos may still obtain legal protection through trademark registration under the first-to-file principle. This study concludes that trademark law currently provides the most effective legal mechanism for protecting AI-generated logos in Indonesia. The research also highlights the need for future legal reform to address the growing role of artificial intelligence in creative industries.
