Abstract

Stunting, characterized by impaired growth and development in children under five, is a major health issue caused by chronic malnutrition and recurrent infections during the first 1000 days of life. Protein intake is crucial for the provision of essential amino acids necessary for optimal growth and immune function. This study aimed to analyze the effect of whey protein-based high-protein biscuits on short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) levels in stunted children. A quasi-experimental design with a pre-post test group was used. Thirty-six stunted children were divided into two groups: the intervention group received whey protein-based high-protein biscuits, while the control group received an equivalent protein source from eggs and tempeh. SCFA levels were measured before and after the intervention. Paired T-tests and Wilcoxon tests were used for statistical analysis. The study found that high-protein biscuits significantly increased SCFA levels (acetate, propionate, and butyrate) in the intervention group (p-value < 0.001). These findings suggest that high-protein biscuits can positively influence gut microbiota and overall health in stunted children. High-protein biscuits can effectively increase SCFA levels in stunted children, contributing to improved gut health. Future studies should explore the long-term effects and potential risks associated with this intervention

Abstract

The prevalence of non-communicable diseases in Indonesia showed a significant increasing trend, from 25% at the end of 2013 to 35% at the end of 2018. Prevention efforts in a community had to be conducted through healthy lifestyle implementation characterized by four indicators, namely physical activity, daily fruit and vegetable intake, not smoking, and routine health checks. Public awareness of healthy life is shallow, even though they have a high educational background. The research aimed to know the role of cross-sector support programs as a solution in improving the Healthy Life Behavior of the citizen. This research was conducted in July-August 2018 in 22 working areas of the Bandung City Health Center. The research used a cross-sectional approach design. The respondents were 205 people, using the purposive random sampling technique. The analysis used chi-square test. The results showed that respondents had poor knowledge about GERMAS, 60.4% of whom were also bad at implementing GERMAS. The respondents whose attitude towards GERMAS was poor, 61.0% of them were also poor in implementing GERMAS. Most people had not felt cross-sector support. There was a significant relationship between cross-sector support and the improvement of people's healthy clean living behavior. The research concluded that almost all people have good knowledge and attitudes about GERMAS, but most people were not good at implementing GERMAS, and there were most people who do not feel any cross-sectoral support in implementing GERMAS. There was a meaningful relationship between cross-sectoral support, both government and private, and the implementation of GERMAS.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to increase the competence of observers towards the transformation of education in non-formal education units in Sukabumi Regency. The lack of optimal observers in carrying out the main tasks of quality control of the PAUD and Dikmas programs, limited time to obtain opportunities to improve competence, limitations in the types of training for observer functional positions that can reach the dimension of space and time as well as the variety of profiles and characteristics of observers are some of the problems that exist in observers. Specifically, this service aims to: 1) describe the planning of training activities for observer functional positions towards educational transformation in non-formal education units in Sukabumi Regency, West Java, 2) describe the implementation of training activities for observer functional positions towards educational transformation in non-formal education units in Sukabumi Regency, West Java, and 3) describe the evaluation of training activities for observer functional positions towards transformation education in non-formal education units in Sukabumi Regency, West Java. The results of the service show that the training activities begin with the planning stage by conducting an analysis of the identification of training activities, including the tools that must be prepared in the training activities, namely preparation, human resources, such as participants, resource persons, and other parties involved, infrastructure, guidelines for the implementation of training in planning training activities for observer functional positions towards educational transformation in non-formal education units in Sukabumi Regency, West Java. The implementation stage of training activities is the implementation of the plan that has been prepared related to the training implementation model, approaches, strategies, methods, techniques and media used in the activity, as well as the time and place of the training. The evaluation stage is a stage to find out the extent of success in activities at the planning and implementation stage of the training activities, including reflecting on activities, distributing evaluation instruments and processing the results of the evaluation. Abstract

This research is motivated by the outbreak of the Corona virus since May 2020 causing fear and anxiety for everyone in various aspects of life, including the world of education, students, parents and teachers are also the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. Moreover, the massive spread of this virus has penetrated throughout the country so that it is declared a pandemic condition. One solution that is highly recommended by WHO and supported by health experts and government policies is to maintain physical social distance. These conditions have an impact on the implementation of the program at home only. This requires all activities that were originally carried out outside the home to move into the house. Of course, this adaptation change presents quite a serious polemic, especially in the process of implementing learning, the term school from home (SFH) has become a new order in the world of education. So there are various innovations in the learning process from home, so that children continue to absorb knowledge even though they do not come to school. One of the educational services that serve the implementation of learning from home, especially in conducting guidance is homeschooling. This learning implementation service through homeschooling is an alternative to implementing learning that strongly supports the absorption of knowledge for children who do not have the opportunity to attend formal schools. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. Ways to obtain data in this study include observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of research findings in the field, it can be concluded that the learning process through homeschooling based on learning services from home is considered effective during the Covid-19 pandemic, where parents, teachers can work together in monitoring children while studying from home more effectively on children's development in learning. study from home.

Abstract

Abstract

Background - Community Learning Centers (PKBM) serve as critical non-formal education institutions in Indonesia, yet governance challenges persist across leadership, collaboration, accountability, policy alignment, and digital dimensions. Research Urgency - Despite growing research on PKBM, a comprehensive synthesis focusing specifically on governance dimensions remains limited. Post-pandemic digital transformation introduces new governance dynamics requiring systematic analysis. Research Objectives - This study aims to: (1) systematically review literature on PKBM governance in Indonesia; (2) identify key governance dimensions influencing implementation; (3) develop an integrated multi-level governance framework; (4) identify critical challenges; and (5) provide evidence-based recommendations. Research Method - Following the PRISMA framework, 18 studies from Google Scholar, Scopus, and ERIC (2022–2026) were analyzed using a multi-level governance theory. Thematic analysis employed an integrated deductive-inductive approach. Research Findings - Results reveal five key governance dimensions: transformational leadership capacity, multi-stakeholder collaboration, accountability mechanisms, policy alignment, and digital governance. Cross-study synthesis identifies three structural contradictions: the standardization-flexibility paradox, the accountability pluralism dilemma, and the digital equity tension. Research Conclusion - Governance plays a decisive role in shaping PKBM effectiveness, quality, and sustainability. The integrated multi-level framework illustrates complex interdependencies across micro, meso, and macro governance levels, advancing governance theory for community-based non-formal education in developing country contexts. Research Novelty/Contribution - This study provides the first comprehensive multi-level governance framework specifically tailored to community-based non-formal education in developing country contexts, synthesizing fragmented literature into a coherent theoretical model and offering evidence-based policy recommendations for strengthening inclusive lifelong learning ecosystems.
