Abstract

Mahasiswa adalah kelompok yang rentan terhadap gangguan psikologis. Gangguan psikologis yang sering terjadi pada mahasiswa yaitu stress, depresi dan juga kecemasan. Banyak faktor yang dapat menyebabkan stres, depresi dan kecemasan pada mahaiswa salah satunya adalah pengalaman masa kecil yang kurang menyenangkan (Adverse Childhood Experiences). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengukur hubungan Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) dengan stres, depresi dan kecemasan pada mahasiswa keperawatan Universitas Andalas. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan rancangan korelasional yang menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 259 responden yang dipilih menggunakan stratified random sampling sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi yang telah ditetapkan. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah  Depression, anxiety stress scale (DASS-21)  dan Adverse Childhood Experiences International Questionnaire (ACE-IQ). Pada analisa univariat didapatkan rerata skor ACEs pada mahasiswa Keperawatan Universitas Andalas adalah 2.47 rerata skor kecemasan pada mahasiswa  Keperawatan Universitas Andalas adalah 7.09, rerata skor stres 9.96, dan rerata skor depresi adalah 6.40. Analisa bivariat dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) dengan stres, depresi dan kecemasan (p-value = 0.000) yang memiliki arah korelasi positif atau searah dengan kekuatan korelasi yang lemah. Diharapkan kepada institusi pendidikan keperawatan untuk memaksimalkan program konseling dan meningkatkan intervensi keperawatan untuk mencegah dan mengatasi masalah kecemasan pada mahasiswa keperawatan.

Abstract

Peer support programmes have been shown to have a substantial impact on overall HIV outreach efforts. Peer educators have played an essential part in the HIV response, despite a number of challenges and negative experiences throughout implementation. These adverse experiences are often ignored and poorly documented, leaving peer educators vulnerable. The aim of this study is to explore the negative experiences of peer educators in reaching out to men who have sex with men (MSM). This research used a qualitative phenomenological study design. This study involved thirty-six peer educators that work in several non-government organizations. Three focus group discussions were conducted in September 2023 to Desember 2023. The Stevick-Colaizzi-Keen data analytical method was used for data analysis. Five themes regarding the peer educators’ negative experiences whilst interacting with the MSM population were obtained from the data analysis. The themes were experiencing discriminatory conduct, abuse, humiliation, cancel the meeting, and incurred personal expenses. In order to accomplish HIV prevention through case finding and treatment milestones, peer educators are dedicated to working with a wide range of MSM groups. Peer educators may need to develop certain coping mechanisms to get through uncomfortable circumstances. In order to deal with unpleasant situations sensibly, it is vital to provide adequate support and protection recommendations, as well as having awareness of self-defence mechanisms.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is one of the mental disorders with the highest number when compared with other mental disorders. The problem faced today is the high rate of relapse in patients with schizophrenia. Some of the factors that affect treatment compliance is the effect of drugs taken, drug dosage, duration of treatment and the cost of treatment. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors associated with treatment compliance. The study was conducted in Prof.Dr.Hb.Saanin Mental Hospital Padang; the number of respondents as many as 75 people, cross-sectional design, the data collected using questionnaires. The results showed that there is a significant relationship (p <0.05) between the side effects of medication and dosage to the patient's adherence to treatment, and there was no significant relationship (p> 0.05) between duration of treatment and the cost of treatment with patient compliance with treatment. The most influential factor is the dose of the drug. It is recommended for nurses to constantly monitor the patient in taking medication and for patients to always communicate the perceived effects while taking the drug.

Abstract

Mental health remains a significant global challenge, including in Padang City, where community-based services are not yet fully optimized. In Ganting Village, posyandu cadres have limited capacity to conduct early detection of mental health disorders, which may hinder timely intervention. This community engagement initiative was designed to enhance mental health literacy and strengthen cadres’ competencies through the Community Mental Health Nursing (CMHN) approach. The program employed a combination of socialization, structured health education on the concept of mental well-being, hands-on training in the use of validated screening tools (PHQ-2, GAD-2, and EPDS), and field-based mentoring. Evaluation was carried out using pre- and post-tests as well as observational assessments of cadre participation was conducted on August 8, 2025.Findings revealed an increase in the average knowledge score from 6.0 to 8.0 (33% improvement). Cadres demonstrated improved soft skills in conceptual understanding and hard skills in administering screening instruments. Importantly, they were able to identify cases of postpartum depression, underscoring the practical relevance of the intervention. Overall, the program proved effective in preparing cadres as community change agents in mental health promotion. Empowering local cadres through CMHN contributes to strengthening preventive strategies and advancing Ganting Village toward a mental health–ready community.

Abstract

Abstrak: Masa remaja merupakan masa krusial dalam perkembangan aspek psikososial. Pada fase ini terjadi perubahan kognitif dan psikososial yang signifikan yang dapat berdampak pada hubungan sosial remaja dan kemampuannya dalam membentuk identitas diri. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pendidikan kesehatan pada remaja sebagai upaya meningkatkan pemahaman mereka tentang tugas-tugas yang berkaitan dengan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan psikososial selama tahap kehidupan ini. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 163 peserta remaja SMA Negeri 6 Padang dan disusun dalam empat tahap berurutan, yaitu: sosialisasi, pre-test untuk mengukur pengetahuan, pemberian pendidikan kesehatan dengan pendekatan presentasi dan diskusi, dan post-test untuk mengukur pengetahuan setelah intervensi. Baik pre-test maupun post-test menggunakan angket yang sama, yang dikembangkan oleh tim PKM dan berdasarkan materi yang diberikan, khususnya mengacu pada konsep tumbuh kembang psikososial Erickson. Hasil intervensi menunjukkan rata-rata skor pengetahuan peserta sebelum mendapat pendidikan kesehatan adalah 6,09 (SD = 1,463), meningkat menjadi 8,25 (SD = 1,264) setelah intervensi. Peningkatan rata-rata skor pengetahuan peserta ini menunjukkan adanya dampak positif intervensi pendidikan kesehatan terhadap pemahaman peserta tentang pertumbuhan dan perkembangan psikososial remaja. Lebih lanjut, hasil uji Paired t-test menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan pada pengetahuan peserta tentang pertumbuhan dan perkembangan psikososial remaja sebelum dan sesudah mendapat pendidikan kesehatan. Hasil kegiatan ini menggarisbawahi efektivitas pemberian pendidikan kesehatan dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja tentang pertumbuhan dan perkembangan psikososial selama masa remaja. Hasil ini memberikan wawasan berharga mengenai potensi intervensi pendidikan kesehatan untuk memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap perkembangan psikososial remaja, dan menekankan pentingnya mengatasi aspek kesejahteraan remaja ini. Inisiatif-inisiatif tersebut dapat berfungsi sebagai langkah-langkah preventif untuk mengurangi masalah kesehatan mental di kalangan remaja.Abstract: The period of adolescence is a crucial stage in the development of psychosocial aspects. During this phase, significant cognitive and psychosocial changes take place, which can have an impact on adolescents' social relationships and their ability to form a sense of self-identity. The objective of the activity was to impart health education in adolescents with the aim of enhancing their understanding of the tasks associated with psychosocial growth and development during this stage of life. This activity involved 163 teenage participants from Public Senior High School 6 Padang and was structured into four sequential stages: socialization, pre-test to measure knowledge, health education delivery using presentation and discussion approach, and post-test to measure knowledge after the intervention. Both the pre-test and post-test utilized the same questionnaire, which was developed by the PKM team and based on the material provided, specifically referring to Erickson's concept of adolescent psychosocial growth and development. The results of the intervention indicated that the average knowledge score prior to receiving health education was 6.09 (SD = 1.463), which increased to 8.25 (SD = 1.264) after the intervention. This increase in average knowledge scores suggests a positive impact of the health education intervention on the participants' understanding of adolescent psychosocial growth and development. Furthermore, the results of the Paired t-test demonstrated a significant difference in participants' knowledge about adolescent psychosocial growth and development before and after receiving health education. These findings underscore the effectiveness of providing health education in enhancing teenagers' knowledge about psychosocial growth and development during adolescence. This study provides valuable insights into the potential of health education interventions to positively influence the psychosocial development of teenagers, emphasizing the significance of addressing this aspect of adolescent well-being. Such initiatives can serve as preventive measures to mitigate mental health issues among adolescents.

Abstract

The provision of HIV prevention programs targeting key populations, particularly men who have sex with men (MSM), has been expanding rapidly. HIV self-testing (HIVST) has emerged as an accessible and convenient method for individuals to determine their HIV status independently. However, its utilization remains suboptimal, one potential barrier is the fear of stigma related to sexual behavior experienced by MSM. This study aimed to examine the association between sexual behavior stigma and willingness to undertake HIV self-testing among MSM. A quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted using a non-probability (accidental) sampling technique. The study included 83 MSM participants affiliated with non-profit organization in Padang City. Data collection was carried out from February to May 2025.Two instruments were employed: The Sexual Behavior Stigma (SBS) Scale to assess sexual behavior stigma and a structured questionnaire to measure willingness to perform HIV self-testing. Data were analyzed using Spearman’s rank correlation test. The results showed that the mean score of sexual behavior stigma was 4.15, while the mean score for willingness to undertake HIV self-testing was 0.458, indicating that 45.8% of respondents expressed willingness to perform HIVST. Statistical analysis revealed a significant correlation between sexual behavior stigma and willingness to undertake HIV self-testing (p = 0.000; r = 0.486; r² = 0.236). These findings suggest that higher levels of sexual behavior stigma are associated with lower willingness to perform HIV self-testing. Sexual behavior stigma will lower the success of achieving HIV eradication. It is crucial to reactivate stigma elimination programs to create a safe and supportive environment for MSM as key populations, enabling them to protect themselves from the risk of HIV transmission.

Abstract

Abstrak: Remaja merupakan kelompok usia yang rentan mengalami tekanan emosional akibat tuntutan akademik, hubungan sosial, dan ekspektasi keluarga. Kondisi ini dapat menimbulkan masalah kesehatan mental seperti stres dan kesulitan mengelola emosi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan remaja dalam mengelola emosi dan stres melalui pelatihan edukatif. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Andalas dengan melibatkan 41 remaja dengan usia rata-rata 14,92 tahun. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi pemberian materi, demonstrasi, praktik, dan diskusi interaktif. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata pengetahuan peserta meningkat dari 6,66 menjadi 9,22 setelah pelatihan, dengan peningkatan pemahaman mencapai lebih dari 80% perserta. Kegiatan ini berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan soft skill remaja dalam mengelola stres, sehingga direkomendasikan untuk diintegrasikan dalam kegiatan Posyandu Remaja dan program UKS secara berkelanjutan.Abstract: Adolescents are an age group that is vulnerable to emotional pressure due to academic demands, social relationships, and family expectations. These conditions can lead to mental health problems such as stress and difficulty in managing emotions. This community service activity aimed to improve adolescents’ knowledge and skills in managing emotions and stress through educational training. The activity was carried out in Andalas Subdistrict, involving 41 adolescents with an average age of 14.92 years. The implementation methods included material delivery, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and interactive discussions. Evaluation was conducted through questionnaires administered before and after the training. The results showed that the participants’ average knowledge score increased from 6.66 to 9.22 after the training, with more than 80% of participants able to correctly explain the steps of emotional regulation and simple relaxation techniques. This activity had a positive impact on enhancing adolescents’ soft skills in stress management and is recommended to be integrated into youth health programs such as Posyandu Remaja and School Health Units (UKS) to ensure sustainability.
