Abstract

Sweet potatoes have been used in various processed products such as flour, flakes, crackers and cakes. However, sweet potato leaves are still limited to animal feed. Sweet potato leaves contain fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidant compounds such as flavonoids, saponins and polyphenols, which have health potential. This community service was carried out in Kwagean Village, Nganjuk Regency, especially residents of RW 007. This community service aims to develop sweet potato cultivation in the yard and process sweet potato leaves into chips. The stages of this activity include situation analysis, licensing, outreach, cultivation practices, chip of sweet potato leaf processing practices, and mentoring for one year. The results of this activity were expected to increase knowledge and family income in Kwagean Village. This activity provided positive benefits in introducing sweet potato cultivation and sweet potato leaf processing to the Kwagean Village community, as well as enabling the transfer of knowledge and skills that can improve the welfare of residents Ubi jalar telah digunakan dalam berbagai produk olahan seperti tepung, flakes, kerupuk, dan kue. Namun, pemanfaatan daun ubi jalar masih terbatas pada pakan ternak. Padahal, daun ubi jalar mengandung serat, vitamin, mineral, dan senyawa antioksidan seperti flavonoid, saponin, dan polifenol yang memiliki potensi kesehatan. Penngabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan di Desa Kwagean, Kabupaten Nganjuk khususnya warga RW 007. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan budidaya ubi jalar pada pekarangan dan pengolahan daun ubi jalar menjadi keripik. Tahapan kegiatan ini meliputi analisis situasi, perizinan, sosialisasi, praktek budidaya, praktek pengolahan keripik daun ubi jalar, dan pendampingan selama satu tahun. Hasil kegiatan ini diharapkan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pendapatan keluarga di Desa Kwagean. Kegiatan ini memberikan manfaat positif dalam mengenalkan budidaya ubi jalar dan pengolahan daun ubi jalar kepada masyarakat Desa Kwagean, serta memungkinkan transfer pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan warga

Abstract

AbstrakPT XYZ adalah salah satu produsen pakan unggas di Kabupaten Banyuwangi, Jawa Timur. Permasalahan dalam pengembangan pakan unggas di PT XYZ adalah harga pakan unggas yang berfluktuasi. Komponen terbesar bahan baku pembuatan pakan unggas adalah jagung dan bungkil kacang kedelai (BKK). Permasalahan fluktuasi harga pakan unggas dapat diatasi dengan prakiraan harga jagung dan BKK. Prakiraan yang tepat dapat membantu PT XYZ untuk optimalisasi alokasi sumber daya perusahaan. Optimalisasi sumber daya bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keuntungan yang diperoleh perusahaan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah pengembangan model jaringan syaraf tiruan (JST) backpropagation untuk prakiraan harga jagung dan BKK. Model JST dikembangkan dengan perlakuan jumlah lapisan tersembunyi (node hidden layer), fungsi aktivasi, dan laju pembelajaran (learning rate). Data penelitian yang digunakan adalah harga jagung dan BKK pada periode Januari 2016-Oktober 2018. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model JST terbaik untuk prakiraan harga jagung adalah 12 node input, 5 node hidden layer, dan 1 node output dengan kombinasi fungsi aktivasi sigmoid biner (logsig)-sigmoid biner (logsig) dan learning rate 0,005. Model JST terbaik untuk prakiraan harga BKK adalah 12 node input, 10 node hidden layer, dan 1 node output dengan kombinasi fungsi aktivasi sigmoid bipolar (tansig)-pure linier (purelin) dan tingkat learning rate 0,006.Kata kunci: harga jagung dan bungkil kacang kedelai, Jaringan Syaraf Tiruan, pakan unggas AbstractPT XYZ is one of the poultry feed producers in Banyuwangi Regency. The problem in developing poultry feed at PT XYZ was related to the fluctuative price of poultry feed itself. The biggest component of raw material for producing poultry feed that affect prices were maize and soybean meal. The problem of poultry feed price fluctuations can be overcome by forecasting the price of maize and soybean meal. The accurate forecast can be used as a reference for PT XYZ in optimizing the allocation of resources so as to increase the profits of the company. The aim of this study was developing a backpropagation neural network (ANN) model. The ANN model was developed by number of hidden layers, activation function, and learning rate. The price of maize and soybean meal in the period January 2016-October 2018 was used as data in this study. The best model for forecasting maize price was 12 input nodes, 5 hidden layer nodes, and 1 output node with a combination of the sigmoid binary (logsig)-sigmoid binary (logsig) activation function and 0.005 learning rate. The best model for forecasting soybean meal was 12 input nodes, 10 hidden layer nodes, and 1 output node with a combination of sigmoid bipolar (tansig)-pure linear activation function (purelin) and 0.006 learning rate.Keywords: Artificial Neural Network, maize and soybean meal prize, poultry feed

Abstract

Pemanfaatan teknologi yang ada serta perkembangan inovasi yang cukup pesat, menjadikan masyarakat lebih suka mengonsumsi minuman instan karena dinilai lebih praktis. Antusiasme masyarakat Indonesia yang sangat tinggi terhadap boba memberikan peluang dalam berinovasi. Davocas merupakan bisnis produk boba yang diracik dengan ekstraksi atau saripati dari biji kurma dan biji alpukat. Pengolahan Boba Davocas ini memiliki peluang yang cukup besar untuk diindustrialisasikan. Strategi yang dilakukan berdasarkan analisis SWOT meliputi strategi Strength-Opportunity, Weakness-Opportunity, Strength-Threat, dan Weakness-Opportunity. Mengacu pada beberapa analisis tersebut terdapat beberapa metode yang diterapkan diantaranya yaitu memperluas daerah pemasaran melalui media e-commerce, terus berinovasi dalam pengembangan rasa produk, menggencarkan promosi dan pengenalan produk, membangun relasi dengan para penjual jus buah, memberikan berbagai penawaran menarik pada produk, dan menjalin kerjasama dengan pemasok bahan baku dalam upaya menekan harga.

Abstract

Batik ecoprint ini merupakan salah satu jenis batik yang metode pembuatannya memanfaatkan pewarna alami dari tanin atau zat warna daun, akar atau batang yang diletakan pada sehelai kain. Ecoprint tidak membutuhkan modal besar, cukup dengan memanfaatkan bahan-bahan organik yang ada di sekitar, produk ecoprint dapat bernilai jual cukup tinggi. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan pada bulan September 2023 di Jalan Kedung Rahmat Gang 1, Desa Sepande, Sidoarjo, Jawa Timur. Peserta yang menjadi target dari kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu ibu-ibu kelompok Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) RW 05 di Desa Sepande. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian dilakukan dalam bentuk sosialisasi dan demonstrasi pelatihan pembuatan Batik Ecoprint. Hasil dari kegiatan ini diharapkan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan ibu-ibu PKK dalam memanfaatkan limbah dedaunan ataupun tanaman yang tidak digunakan sehingga menjadi lebih bermanfaat dan produktif. Manfaat lebih lanjut diharapkan dapat meningkatkan ekonomi melalui peningkatan penghasilan dari penjualan Batik Ecoprint.

Abstract

Purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas var Ayumurasaki) has deep purple flesh and tuber skin. The variety of processed purple sweet potato products is increasingly diverse as purple sweet potato production increases, such as cookies and chips. Therefore, a process is needed to turn purple sweet potato into flour before being made into a variety of processed products, namely the drying process. Drying is a process of reducing the water content of a material to a certain level. To determine how much fuel is used by dryer machine, it is necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of the machine. So that in this study the aims were to determine the amount of energy needed to dry purple sweet potatoes, calculate the efficiency of the flash dryer machine and find out the temperature distribution on each tray of the drying machine. Based on the research results of the rack-type flash dryer drying machine, it can be concluded that the mechanism of the heat transfer rate in the purple sweet potato drying process occurs by forced convection heat transfer from the drying air to the purple sweet potatoes and a mass flow rate value of 0.1272 kg/s is obtained, the convection transfer rate in the drying chamber is 836.84 W and the sensible heat value is 1033.84 W. Hence, the amount of heat to dry 3 kg of purple sweet potato for 4 hours is 1870.68 W and an efficiency value of 55.26% is obtained. The total energy required to dry 3 kg of purple sweet potato in 4 hours is 5712.86 kJ.

Abstract

Household waste has become a crucial issue that demands serious attention to preserve environmental sustainability. Every year, waste management programs are implemented to create a clean and healthy environment. One of the regions that has intensified its efforts in addressing this issue is Sidoarjo Regency, East Java. Among the areas facing challenges in waste management is Sepande Village, particularly RW 05 in Candi District. The primary issue in this village is the poor handling of waste from small-scale industries, such as tempe production, which often ends up on the streets, polluting the environment. To address this problem, educational efforts involving community participation are essential. These efforts aim to realize a clean and green Sepande Village through several strategic steps. First, household waste revitalization techniques are taught to residents to help them understand proper waste management methods. Second, the introduction of community- based waste banks provides an effective solution. Residents are trained to separate organic and inorganic waste and to record the collected recyclable waste. Through this community-based approach, Sepande Village is expected not only to become cleaner and healthier but also to inspire other villages to manage their waste independently and sustainably. Sampah rumah tangga menjadi isu penting yang memerlukan perhatian serius demi menjaga kelestarian lingkungan. Setiap tahun, program pengelolaan sampah terus dilakukan untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang bersih dan sehat. Salah satu daerah yang semakin intens dalam mengatasi persoalan ini adalah Kabupaten Sidoarjo, Jawa Timur. Di antara wilayah-wilayah yang menghadapi tantangan dalam pengelolaan sampah, Desa Sepande, khususnya RW 05 di Kecamatan Candi, menjadi sorotan. Masalah utama di desa ini adalah penanganan limbah industri kecil seperti pengolahan tempe yang belum tertata dengan baik, sehingga limbah sering berakhir di jalanan dan mencemari lingkungan. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, diperlukan upaya edukasi yang melibatkan partisipasi komunitas setempat. Edukasi ini bertujuan mewujudkan Desa Sepande Asri melalui beberapa langkah strategis. Pertama, teknik revitalisasi sampah rumah tangga diajarkan kepada masyarakat, agar mereka memahami cara mengelola sampah dengan bijak. Kedua, pengelolaan sampah berbasis bank sampah diperkenalkan sebagai solusi yang efektif. Masyarakat diajarkan cara memilah sampah organik dan anorganik, serta mencatat hasil pengumpulan sampah yang dapat didaur ulang. Dengan pendekatan berbasis komunitas ini, diharapkan Desa Sepande tidak hanya menjadi lebih bersih dan sehat, tetapi juga dapat menginspirasi desa-desa lain untuk mengelola sampah secara mandiri dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The use of enzymes in Indonesia is increasing rapidly and is used in various industries, especially FCMG. One of the enzymes that is widely used is xylanase, which is an extracellular enzyme that can hydrolyze xylan into xylose and xylo-oligosaccharides. This research aims to determine the optimum conditions for the xylanase production process from coffee cherry processing waste (CCPW) using Trichoderma viride through solid fermentation. The research method used was experimental using central composite design (CCD) in Design Expert 13.0 software. The treatment designs used were fermentation times of 24 hours, 48 ​​hours, and 72 hours; and substrate concentrations of 25%, 50%, and 75%. The experimental response analysis design was enzyme activity, protein content, and specific activity. The results of the research show that the optimum conditions for xylanase production are at a substrate concentration of 75% and a fermentation time of 24 hours with a desirability value of 0.742, which produces an enzyme activity value of 36.388 U/mL and a dissolved protein content of 0.494 mg/mL with a specific activity of 73.660. U/mg. The verification results show conformity with the formula predicted by the Design Expert 13.0 software, namely enzyme activity of 36,292 U/mL and protein content of 0.488 mg/mL with a specific activity of 74,369 U/mg

Abstract

Tembakau merupakan komoditas strategis dan salah satu tanaman perkebunan di Indonesia. Produksi tembakau Indonesia pada tahun 2021 diperkirakan mencapai 261.011 ton. Produksi yang besar menjadikan tembakau sebagai sumber pendapatan negara salah satunya melalui devisa negara. Pengolahan tembakau yang dikenal luas saat ini yaitu pembuatan rokok. Bagian tembakau yang diolah menjadi rokok adalah daun sedangkan batang tembakau tidak diolah dan menjadi limbah. Penanganan limbah batang tembakau saat ini hanya dengan proses pembakaran. Penanganan ini dapat menimbulkan pencemaran asap batang tembakau yang masih mengandung nikotin sehingga memiliki dampak buruk bagi Kesehatan. Kandungan dalam batang tembakau memiliki potensi pemanfaatan limbah batang tembakau sebagai solusi mengatasi limbah batang tembakau dan menjadi produk bernilai tambah tinggi. Peningkatan nilai tambah dapat dilakukan dengan mengolah limbah batang tembakau menjadi xylitol sebagai pemanis alami. Paper ini bertujuan untuk melakukan kajian potensi pengembangan agroindustri olahan limbah batang tembakau. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu berupa analisis matriks SWOT dan analisis nilai tambah metode Hayami. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa olahan limbah batang tembakau menjadi xylitol memiliki potensi untuk memajukan industri tembakau.

Abstract

Lamongan Regency is known as one of the largest rice producers in East Java with a contribution of 8.76 percent to total rice production in East Java. The use of computer-based technology really supports planning, one of which is mapping. The aim of this research is to map rice production in Lamongan Regency using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology. This research uses spatial data in the form of administrative maps of Lamongan Regency in 2017, sea depth maps in 2018 and rice production data in Lamongan Regency in 2017 and 2019. The results of the research show that rice production in Lamongan Regency is not much different in 2017 and 2019. There are fluctuations in rice production in each sub-district. The largest rice production is in Sugio District while the smallest production is in Paciran District. Factors that influence rice production include the area of ​​rice fields, land characteristics, and Lamongan Regency Government policies. Based on spatial analysis with maps, the largest rice production is in Sugio District because it is lowland with a high level of fertility and has the largest area of ​​rice fields. Meanwhile, the lowest rice production is in the Brondong, Paciran, Solokuro, Kalitengah and Deket sub-districts because the limestone mountains are rocky and areas prone to flooding and have limited rice fields. Apart from that, Paciran, Solokuro and Brondong sub-districts are more prioritized in developing the industrial, tourism and trade sectors

Abstract

Agromart is an effort to utilize local potential in Sidoarjo Regency as a form of Teaching Factory (TEFA) at the Jember State Polytechnic PSDKU Sidoarjo. Agromart is also a means of learning for students through activities in business processes, ranging from product planning, operational management, and marketing to financial management. This research aims to plan the development of the Agromart business at the Jember State Polytechnic PSDKU Sidoarjo. This study employs a quantitative descriptive approach, utilizing primary and secondary data sources. The analysis methods used in this study include the Business Model Canvas (BMC) and SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analyses. The study results show that Agromart business has product type and quality advantages. The products offered are quality items that emphasize the local wisdom of Sidoarjo Regency. The SWOT analysis results show that Agromart business is in quadrant one. This quadrant indicates that the business is in a position of strong internal strength and has excellent external opportunities. So, a suitable strategy is to use strength to take advantage of opportunities.
