Abstract

Fish + moringa biscuits are a functional local food innovation that is easy to obtain and can be a healthy snack that is rich in nutrients to support the growth of toddlers. The dissemination of the use of fish + biscuits is one of the efforts to increase the knowledge and nutritional status of toddlers. The aim of this service is to increase mothers' knowledge about the benefits of sori fish + moringa made into biscuits. The service method is carried out through lectures and questions and answers. This dedication was carried out on December 19 2023 in Kasilampe Village. The target of this activity is 25 mothers who have toddlers who live in the coastal area of ​​Kasilampe Village. Knowledge data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed descriptively. The results of this community service are that knowledge before counseling about the importance of fish biscuits + moringa is that 40% of mothers do not understand that moringa biscuits can be given from 6 month old babies and do not understand that fish is an animal protein and after counseling 100% of mothers have know that moringa biscuits can be given from babies as young as 6 months and know that fish is a source of animal protein. The conclusion of this community service was that there was an increase in mothers' knowledge after being given counseling about the benefits of fish biscuits + moringa.

Abstract

Sori fish is one of the seafood sources of animal protein which is a local food in coastal areas that is still rarely consumed by the community, likewise with moringa is a functional food that is easy to obtain and process for malnutrition (wasting), KEK and anemia. Providing Moringa Biscuits is an innovation that is useful for preventing adolescent nutritional problems. The purpose of this service is to provide counseling and additional food in the form of Sori Fish + Moringa biscuits as Functional food for Adolescents in the Coastal Area of ​​Bajo Indah Village. The service method is carried out by lectures and questions and answers. This service was carried out on August 28, 2024 in the coastal area of ​​Bajo Indah Village, precisely at SMPN Satu Atap 1 Soropia. The target of this activity is adolescents (students) registered at SMPN Satu Atap 1 Soropia as many as 30 people. Data on the use of biscuits and knowledge were collected using a questionnaire and processed using the Wilcoxon sign rank test. The results of community service showed that before counseling and giving biscuits, 20% of teenagers utilized sori fish and moringa and after counseling and giving sori fish and moringa biscuits, 100% of teenagers utilized biscuits. Knowledge before counseling obtained an average pretest score of 4 and after counseling obtained an average posttest score of 8. The test results obtained a significance of 0.000. This conclusion is that the provision of sori fish and moringa biscuits and counseling can increase the utilization and knowledge of teenagers about the use of sori fish and Moringa (Moringa Oliefera Lam) as functional foods. This community service suggests that schools need to provide routine education to teenagers to utilize local foods in the form of sori fish and moringa.

Abstract

Background: Chronic energy deficiency in pregnant women is a problem of nutritional deficiency characterized by upper arm circumference < 23.5 cm, and has an impact on pregnancy complications, risk of giving birth to babies with low birth weight, so nutritional assistance is needed. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of nutritional assistance on the weight of pregnant women. Chronic energy deficiency Methods: This type of research is a quasi-experiment, two group pretest-posttest design with control. The sample was pregnant women in the coastal area of Kendari City, 35 cases and 35 controls using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Mann Whitney test Results: The average body weight of the intervention group before nutritional assistance was 50.95 kg and after assistance was 57.86 cm. Meanwhile, the average weight of the control group was 62.67 kg and after assistance it was 71.09 kg. The results of the Mann Whitney test obtained a p value of 0.000, so there is an influence of nutritional assistance on the weight of pregnant women. Conclusion: Nutritional assistance can increase the weight of pregnant women. Chronic energy deficiency in the coastal area of Kendari city.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the macronutrient content of local food (Sinonggi) and identify the level of acceptability (color, taste, smell, texture and crunchiness) of Sinonggi. This type of research is descriptive, with a total of 20 panelists. Data on the nutritional content of Sago was measured using the acceptance level using the Likert scale hedonic test. The results of this research found that Sago has a higher carbohydrate content than protein and fat, and the Sinonggi that many people like is Sinonggi S3.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the macronutrient content of fish chips and identify the level of acceptance (color, taste, aroma, texture and crispiness) and the results of anthropometric measurements of stunted toddlers. This type of research is descriptive, with a sample of stunted toddlers of 21 intervention groups and 21 control groups. The number of panelists was 20 people. Data on the nutritional content of chips was analyzed in the UHO integrated laboratory, data on the level of acceptance using a Likert scale hedonic test. The results of the study in 100 grams of fish chips contained 3.62% carbohydrates, 2.71% protein, 2.30% fat and TPC 61 X 103 CFU / g. The level of acceptance of the color, aroma, taste, texture and crispiness of tuna fish chips combined with turmeric (curcumin sp) mostly liked A1 chips. Then the average weight of stunted toddlers intervention is 8.57 kg and control is 10.02 kg. The average height of intervention is 75.50 cm and control is 81.79 cm and the average Z-Score intervention is -2.66 and control is -3.17. The conclusion is that tuna fish chips have a higher carbohydrate content than protein and fat and the chips that are most preferred are A1 tuna fish chips. Suggestions for the East Kabaena sub-district government and toddler mothers so that tuna fish chips can be consumed routinely for Stunting Toddlers.

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) is one of the nutritional problems which prevalence in Southeast Sulawesi is 21.9%, Kendari City is 14.37%, and Puuwatu Public Health Center is 11.04% (the national target for CED is 5%). The direct cause of CED is low intake of macronutrients such as energy, protein, fat and carbohydrates. During the Covid-19 pandemic, everyone is advised to stay at home so that access to food is very limited and causes a lack of nutritional intake for pregnant women. The study aimed to determine the macronutrient consumption of pregnant women who suffer from CED during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The research was conducted descriptively with a survey design. This research was conducted in June – September 2020 in the Puuwatu Public Health Center, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi. The research sample was 35 pregnant women in the 3rd trimester who had CED and were taken using saturated samples. Data collection by interview using a form 2x24 hour recall and also anthropometric measurements using microtoice and weight scales. Data were analyzed descriptively and presented in tabular and narrative form. The results showed that the energy and carbohydrate intake of pregnant women was 100% in the category of severe deficit, 91.4% heavy deficit protein intake and 8.6% mild deficit, then fat intake 57.1% severe deficit, 20% mild deficit and 8,6% mild deficit. In conclusion, the intake macronutrient of pregnant women in CED during the Covid-19 pandemic is mostly a severe deficit.

This study aims to determine the behavior of giving colostrum to newborns in the working area of ​​the Poasia Health Center, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi. This type of research is analytical with a cross sectional study design. The population in the study were all mothers who had newborns at the Poasia Health Center, Kendari City, in the period of May-June 2015 as many as 54 people and a sample of 54 people who were taken by accidental sampling. The method of analysis used the chi-square test. The results of the statistical test showed that the value of p = 0.012 and = 0.430 for knowledge, p = 0.027 and = 0.471 for attitudes and p = 0.009 and = 0.661 for actions so that it can be concluded that there is a weak relationship between knowledge, attitudes and actions with giving colostrum in newborns. Suggestions in this study are in order to increase knowledge, attitudes and actions of mothers, it is hoped that the Poasia Health Center can establish policies in an effort to increase knowledge of postpartum mothers through intensive counseling or consultation activities to mothers about the importance of giving colostrum, especially to newborns.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is breastfeeding only for babies until they are 6 months old. The national achievement target is 80%, but the achievement of exclusive breastfeeding in the Mokoau Health Center work area in 2015 is 45.18%. The purpose of this study was to analyze the behavior of exclusive breastfeeding with the theory of planned behavior approach. This type of research is qualitative with a theory of planned behavior approach. The research was carried out at the Azatata BTN Housing in the working area of ​​the Mokoau Health Center, Kendari City, the number of respondents was 5 people. The data is processed descriptively and narrated. The results of the study on attitude showed that 100% of respondents agreed to give exclusive breastfeeding, the subjective norm aspect showed that 3 respondents (60%) stated that their husbands did not support it and 4 respondents (80%) their mothers recommended and gave formula milk when the baby was born. Perceived Behavioral Control, from the aspect of resources, 4 respondents (80%) underwent cesarean delivery, from the income aspect, 100% of respondents were able to provide formula milk, 3 respondents (60%) said health workers did not recommend exclusive breastfeeding, for the opportunity 4 respondents (80%) work and on behavior intention 100% intend to give exclusive breastfeeding. The conclusion of this study is that the low behavior of exclusive breastfeeding is caused by a lack of parental support, lack of husband support, lack of support from health workers, history of cesarean delivery and work. Suggestions for Puskesmas need to provide counseling to the husband's family and parents, for the company to provide a special place for breastfeeding mothers and the need for further research on other factors that cause low exclusive breastfeeding

Abstract

The prevalence of overweight in adolescents in the Brother Middle School is 14.1% (exceeding the standard for nutritional problems of 10%), therefore innovation is needed in the form of giving a handbook to overcome the problem of overweight. This study aims to determine the effect of overweight handbook on adolescent weight loss at Brother Kendari Junior High School. This research is a quantitative research (pre-experimental) with a pre-test-post-test design. This research was conducted on May 7 - July 14 2018. The population was all overweight Brothers Private Junior High School students, namely 38 people, a sample of 32 people was obtained by simple random sampling. Carbohydrate intake data collection form 3 x 24 hour recall. The data was measured 4 times and analyzed using the paired T-test. The results showed that the average (mean) intake of KH for adolescents increased, namely before being given the overweight handbook it was 327.0 g, then after being given the overweight handbook, the intake of KH for adolescents was 268.6 g. The average increase in KH intake was 58, 4 gr. The results of the paired T-test on carbohydrate intake obtained p value (0.000) <α (0.05). The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of overweight handbook on decreasing carbohydrate intake of overweight adolescents at Brothers Kendari Junior High School. It is recommended for the Brother Junior High School overweight students to always read the overweight handbook and limit foods high in carbohydrates and for the Brother Junior High School students to regularly provide education about limiting carbohydrate intake to overweight sufferers by using a handbook.

Abstract

Type II DM is rapidly becoming one of the most common non-communicable diseases globally and regionally, in Indonesia almost all provinces showed an increase in prevalence in 2013-2018, except for East Nusa Tenggara, at the Poasia public Health Center there were 101 people with DM. Omega 3 can reduce the risk of diabetes. Consumption of fatty fish may be beneficial to reduce the risk of diabetes. The type of research used in this research is analytic observational, using a cross sectional approach. The study population was patients with type II DM in 2020 as many as 101 people and a sample of 81 using the Slovin formula with purposive sampling sampling technique. The data were obtained using a semi quantitative food frequency questionnaire (SQ FFQ), processed using the Mann-Whitney test. The results of the study showed that there was no relationship between fish processing methods and blood sugar levels when patients with type II DM in the Poasia public Health Center Work Area with a p-Value value. 0.24. there is no relationship between the type of fish and blood sugar levels when patients with type II DM in the Poasia Public Health Center Work Area with a p-value of 0.519 Conclusion that there is no relationship between fish consumption based on the type and way of processing with the blood sugar levels of patients with DM type II in the Working Area of Poasia Public Health Center.
