Abstract

Background: This community service program was implemented to address musculoskeletal complaints among production workers who frequently adopted squatting postures, which imposed static loads on the lower back, knees, and calves, resulting in discomfort and reduced productivity. Contribution: This study introduces ErJo (Ergonomic Jojodog), a culturally adaptive ergonomic innovation that integrates traditional sitting design with modern ergonomic principles to enhance worker comfort and foster cultural acceptance. Method: A participatory ergonomics approach involving ten production workers was employed through design, testing, and evaluation stages. Musculoskeletal complaints were assessed using the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 9011:2021), complemented by field observations and semi-structured interviews. Results: After two weeks of ErJo implementation, musculoskeletal complaints in the knees and calves decreased from 67% to 20%, while lower-back discomfort declined to 40%. Participants reported greater comfort, stability, and ease of movement, with the belt-equipped model achieving the highest usability score. This study demonstrates that integrating ergonomics with local wisdom enhances worker well-being and promotes sustainable occupational practices. Conclusion: ErJo effectively reduced musculoskeletal complaints and improved work comfort in squatting tasks. This innovation supports SDG 3 (good health and well-being) and SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth), with potential for broader application across similar manual occupations.

Abstract

Aksi peduli kemanusiaan ini merupakan kegiatan sosial yang bertujuan untuk membantu masyarakat terdampak banjir di Dusun Gempol Rawa, Kelurahan Tanjungpura, Kecamatan Karawang Barat, Kabupaten Karawang. Banjir yang terjadi menyebabkan terganggunya aktivitas warga serta menimbulkan kebutuhan mendesak akan bahan pangan pokok. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan penyaluran bantuan sembako sebagai bentuk kepedulian dan solidaritas terhadap korban bencana. Kegiatan ini meliputi proses pengumpulan bantuan, pendistribusian sembako secara langsung kepada warga terdampak, serta koordinasi dengan pihak setempat agar bantuan tepat sasaran. Melalui kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meringankan beban masyarakat, memenuhi kebutuhan dasar sementara, serta memperkuat semangat gotong royong dan kepedulian sosial di tengah situasi bencana.

Abstract

X-ray diffraction (XRD) data and the Scherrer equation were utilized to analyze the crystallite Size of titanium dioxide (TiO2) in a solution of ethylene glycol (EG) and distilled water. The XRD analysis was conducted using a Rigaku Miniflex 600 instrument with an X-ray wavelength of approximately 0.15046 nm. The examination yielded the full-width half maximum (FWHM), which was subsequently examined using the Scherrer equation. This experiment employed TiO2 with a purity level of 99.8% and a crystal Size of 30 nm. The analysis revealed that the average crystallite Size of TiO2 in the sample is 19.45 nm, with the highest measurement at about 30.38 nm. The Spearman correlation equation was employed to validate the outcomes. The Spearman's correlation coefficient between the FWHM variable and the crystallite Size of TiO2 nanoparticles is -0.958. These findings shed light on the crystal structure of TiO2 under these conditions. These findings lend support to the use of TiO2 in a variety of nanotechnology applications. However, more research is needed to understand fully how crystallite-Size TiO2 nanoparticles work in different settings and to find the best ways to prepare samples, including understanding the specific phase and how it affects the stability of fluids. This research contributes significantly to the understanding of the properties of TiO2 in a solution of distilled water and EG, as well as to the characterization of nanomaterials, with particular emphasis on issue 9 of the SDGS Goal concerning industry, innovation, and infrastructure.
