Abstract

Mental disorders are behavioral patterns that are usually accompanied by symptoms of limitations or disorders in one or more of the main human functions, such as psychological, behavioral, biological, or disruptive functions that involve interaction with others or with the community. This study is a case report with a nursing care management approach that includes assessment, data analysis, formulating nursing diagnoses, interventions, implementation and then evaluation. This family nursing care is provided based on Evidence-based Nursing Practice after determining the diagnosis based on the assessment data, then the intervention is prepared by reviewing several literatures that report on murottal therapy for clients at risk of violent behavior. The results of the literature review are then applied to nursing care. The collection of nursing care data was carried out using an assessment form and interviews. After murottal therapy was carried out 3 times within a period of 3 days, before the intervention, Mr. M had a threshold score of 5. The higher the threshold score, the more the anger level peaks and is uncontrollable. After murottal therapy, the anger threshold score was 1. The results of the application of murottal therapy in nursing care with patients who have a risk of violent behavior show that murottal therapy can have an impact or increase anger control.

Abstract

Mental health during adolescence plays a critical role in emotional and social development. One potentially influential factor is unresolved childhood emotional trauma, known as inner child behavior. This study aims to examine the relationship between inner child behavior and anxiety responses in adolescents. A correlational quantitative design was used, involving 102 students from SMA Batik 1 Surakarta selected through proportional random sampling. Inner child behavior was assessed using the standardized Wounded Inner Child Questionnaire, which contains 83 items with validity coefficients ranging from 0.196–0.765. Anxiety levels were measured using the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), which consists of 20 items with validity coefficients ranging from 0.663–0.918. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of p < 0.05. Most respondents showed moderate inner child behavior (63.7%) and mild anxiety levels (51.0%). Chi-Square analysis revealed no statistically significant relationship between inner child behavior and anxiety responses (p = 0.119). The study concludes that there is no significant correlation between inner child behavior and anxiety responses among adolescents. Future research should consider emotional expression barriers and data variability.

Abstract

Auditory hallucinations are a perceptual disorder in which individuals respond to stimuli that are not present, yet perceived as real. This case study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Beethoven classical music therapy in reducing the intensity of auditory hallucinations among patients with schizophrenia at Dr. Arif Zainudin Surakarta Mental Hospital. The therapy was applied as a complementary non-pharmacological intervention to help manage hallucination symptoms. A pre-test and post-test design was used with five patients diagnosed with schizophrenia who experienced auditory hallucinations. Each patient received Beethoven classical music therapy in a series of scheduled sessions. The measurement instrument was the Auditory Hallucination Rating Scale (AHRS). Validity testing was conducted using confirmatory factor analysis (RMSEA = 0.00; CFI = 0.994), while reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha (α = 0.61). The AHRS measures the frequency, duration, conviction, and impact of hallucinations on daily activities. Pre- and post-therapy data were analyzed using the Shapiro Wilk normality test, followed by a paired t-test. Results indicated a significant reduction in AHRS scores (p = 0.000; p < 0.05) across all patients after receiving the therapy, indicating a positive effect in reducing hallucination intensity.

Abstract

Mental disorders occur due to disturbances in the thought process, emotions, and behavior, which cause maladaptive responses. Schizophrenia is one of the most common mental disorders, characterized by impaired cognitive function. One of the symptoms that often appears in schizophrenia is sensory perception disorders, especially auditory hallucinations. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the scale of auditory hallucinations before and after being given Group Activity Therapy (TAK) drawing intervention. The results of observations in the Nakula Room of Dr. Arif Zainudin Mental Hospital showed that the majority of patients experienced auditory hallucinations. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sampling technique used was total non-probability sampling, involving 6 patients who experienced sensory perception disorders: auditory hallucinations. The instrument used in this study was the Auditory Hallucination Rating Scale (AHRS) questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test, which showed a significance value of 0,027 (p-value <0,05). This indicates a significant difference in the scale of auditory hallucinations before and after being given group activity therapy drawing. Group drawing activity therapy has a significant effect on the ability to control auditory hallucinations in schizophrenia patients.
