Abstract

The implementation of the independent learning curriculum in Indonesia is the government's effort to improve the quality of education. However, the crucial problem is the limited learning resources in schools relevant to curriculum requirements. So, teachers must be innovative in preparing resources for classroom learning by referring to the curriculum, one of which is using relevant context. This activity aims to provide teachers with insight and experience in preparing outdoor mathematics teaching materials based on local context. Partners in this activity are elementary school teacher working groups (KKG) in Kepahiang Regency. The method used in this activity is a training method through coercion. The activity stages consist of (1) the activity preparation stage, (2) the coordination and socialization stage, (3) the workshop stage, (4) the assignment and evaluation stage, and (5) the product distribution stage in the form of teaching materials. This activity was attended by 33 elementary school teachers in Kepahiang Regency. The results of this service activity are: (1) an increase in teacher understanding in preparing outdoor mathematics teaching materials based on local context, (2) increased motivation of participants in designing outdoor mathematics teaching materials based on local context, (3) the preparation of outdoor mathematics teaching materials for elementary school students in the Kepahiang context. The suggestion from this service activity is that teachers should be able to be innovative in building open materials using contexts that are familiar and close to students.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to determine the effect of the REACT strategy with LKPD on students' class XI Mathematics problem solving abilities at SMKN 5 Kepahiang. on the Opportunity material. This research is a quasi-experimental research whose population includes all class XI students at SMK Negeri 5 Kepahiang consisting of eight classes. The data collection technique in this research is an instrument test used to collect data including mathematical problem solving ability test questions. The researcher used a purposive sampling technique for sampling. The number of samples was determined using Taro Yamane's calculation formula so that 70 students were obtained consisting of 35 people in the control class and 35 people in the experimental class. Data collection in this research used documentation studies and tests. The data analysis technique uses the independent sample t-test, but before carrying out the t test, the data analysis requirements are tested, namely the normality test and homogeneity test. The results of the research show that the results of the normality and homogeneity tests show that all data is normally and homogeneously distributed, while the results of the hypothesis test show that the significance value is (0.00 < 0.05), which means that there is a positive and significant influence of the REACT learning strategy with LKPD on ability. Abstract

Technology to support learning activities in schools is essential to implement to improve learning outcomes. Technology use also aligns with the objectives of implementing an independent curriculum, which requires digital skills. However, the conditions in schools still need to be improved regarding the use of technology both in delivering learning material and in digital-based evaluations. Every school is required to participate in a national evaluation in the form of a computer-based minimum competency assessment (AKM), carried out online. This activity aims to increase the use of digital technology in schools, including administration, teaching, and learning at SMA Negeri 1 Bengkulu Tengah. Digital utilization is carried out through the use of the i-school application. The activity implementation method consists of (1) preparation and needs analysis, (2) application system design, (3) outreach, (4) implementation of training and use of technology, (5) evaluation and monitoring. The target of the training activities consisted of 30 teachers and staff and 36 students. The result of this activity is creating a digital application to support administration, teaching, and learning activities that can be implemented in the target school. This activity also impacts increasing the teacher's ability to use open materials and online test tools through the i-school application. Students' responses to application usage activities are also at high criteria. Based on the activities carried out, it can be concluded that the use of technology through the i-school application can get a good response from the target of the activity and can be used in other schools.

Abstract

This study seeks to delineate the numeracy competencies of students in the geometry domain, framed by the cultural context of Bengkulu. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the research involved 35 students from Grade  XI. A of State High School 1 Bengkulu Tengah. The methodology included the use of open-ended numeracy tests specifically designed for geometry. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics to delineate the spectrum of numeracy competency levels among the students. The findings showed that 4 students (13.33%) were at a low level of numeracy, 24 students (80.00%) at a medium level, and 2 students (6.67%) at a high level. Further analysis of students' numeracy skills across different geometric levels highlighted average proficiency scores of 81.66% in visualization, 66.67% in analysis, and a notably lower 40.00% in deduction. These results underscore the influence of culturally relevant numeracy problems on student performance. Consequently, these insights have significant implications for educational practices, particularly in the curation of instructional materials aimed at enhancing students' numeracy competencies.       Keywords: descriptive analysis, geometry domain, numeracy competency, cultural context of Bengkulu. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v25i3.pp1518-1531

Abstract

This study aims to describe the problems of the PISA model in mathematics textbooks which are in terms of the aspects contained in the components of the PISA model. The research subjects were competency test questions in the 2017 revised edition of the 2017 curriculum 2013 math textbooks, totaling 180. This study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The research instrument was an analysis guide sheet based on the aspects of content, context, and cognitive level of the PISA model questions. Data analysis uses the stages of unit purchasing analysis, categorizing, and coding. The results showed that there were 17.22% of the PISA model questions. The questions are distributed based on each content consisting of number, space & shape, change & relationship, and impossibility & data. In the context aspect, the questions only fulfill three contexts, personal work, and social judging from the level of cognitive questions that are applied at the level of remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, and assessing levels.
