Abstract

Introduction: The organic content of tempeh liquid waste and "Raja” banana peel can be utilized to make organic liquid fertilizer as an alternative for waste control. This study aims to analyze the effect of "Raja” banana peel bio-activator on tempeh liquid waste during the production of organic liquid fertilizer. Methods: The research design is a pure experiment with a posttest only and a control group design. The object of the study was tempeh liquid waste treated with Raja banana peel bio-activator in three replicates of 30 mL 40 mL and 50 mL. Data analysis used the Kruskal Wallis test. Results and Discussion: The highest average in C content was found in liquid fertilizer with bio-activator 30 mL (1.84%), N content in liquid fertilizer with bio-activator 50 mL (0.17%), P content in liquid fertilizer with bio-activator 50 mL (0.11%), K content in liquid fertilizer with bio-activator 30 mL (0.13%) and total macro nutrients (N, P, K) in liquid fertilizer with bio-activator 50 mL (0.36%). The average volume of "Raja” banana peel bio-activator did differ significantly between 30 mL, 40 mL and 50 mL, indicating that it did not significantly affect the content of C, N, P and K in organic liquid fertilizer. Conclusion: The contents of macro nutrient in this organic liquid fertilizer do not meet the government standard on Minister of Agriculture Regulation; therefore' further research is needed to determine the appropriate levels of bio-activators in producing organic liquid fertilizer.

Abstract

Well water in Kedung Sekar village which contains high levels of iron (Fe) can cause economic losses such as clogged pipes, yellow clothes and skin irritation. Utilization of waste corn cobs and Musa Paradisiaca peels as activated carbon can reduce Fe levels in water. The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of activated carbon made from corn cobs and Musa Paradisiaca peels to reduce Fe content in water. This type of research is pre-experimental. Examination of Fe levels in the laboratory to determine the content before and after treatment. Treatment using a variety of doses of activated carbon 4 g, 6 g, 8 g. Data analysis used a statistical test, namely One Way Anova and compared it with the Minister of Health Regulation Number 32 of 2017 concerning Environmental Quality Standards and Water Health Requirements for Sanitary Hygiene Needs. The results showed that there was a decrease in Fe levels at a dose of 8 g for corn cobs activated carbon by an average of 0.95 mg/l or 94.36% and for Musa Paradisiaca peels activated carbon there was a decrease at a dose of 8 g of 1.56 mg/l or 90.74%. Statistical testing obtained the value of Sig. 0.000, which means that there is a difference in the decrease in iron (Fe) levels after adsorption with activated carbon from corn cobs and Musa Paradisiaca peels. The conclusion that can be formulated is that activated carbon from corn cobs and Musa Paradisiaca peels can reduce iron (Fe) levels in water. Suggestions for other researchers can use variations of activator KOH, CaCl2, NaOH to make activated carbon and check the quality of charcoal according to SNI 06-3730-1995.

Abstract

Food products produced and distributed in Indonesia must meet food safety requirements and the maximum threshold for contamination of heavy metals in food. It is necessary to pay attention so as to produce food products that are safe and feasible to be consumed. Household Industry that is often found one of them is soybean tempeh. Aspects of hygiene and sanitation in production activities should be considered because it can allow the contamination of heavy metals that enter the tempeh products through the production process and equipment used. The purpose of the study was to identify heavy metal contamination in tempeh products in kaloran village household industry in Ngronggot subdistrict of Nganjuk regency in 2021. This type of research is descriptive with a cross sectional approach. Using purpusive sampling method with the reason in the household industry has given permission to conduct research and according to the criteria of research conducted, namely the results of tempeh products packaged using plastic. Variables studied: equipment, packaging and labels, as well as soybean tempeh products to be inspected heavy metals Cd, and Pb. Data collection conducted observations, interviews and laboratory examinations. The results showed that the equipment used in production is not eligible, namely 75% equipment material, 50% layout and no supervision. 100% packaging selection using plastic packaging. The contamination of heavy metals cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) in tempeh is still below the threshold (SNI). The conclusion of the results of the study shows that the content of heavy metals in the household industry tempeh in the category of eligible. However, it is advisable for industry owners to pay attention to the cleanliness of equipment and the selection of safe packaging for food.

Abstract

In the application of the hazard analysis and critical control point in the tape householdindustry in the Sukosari area, there are still several components that do not meet therequirements, such as the area where the processing is not clean, the use of rusty foodprocessing equipment, food equipment and food ingredients that are not rinsed with cleanwater, the food packaging room that is not tightly packed with vectors, and not wearinggloves when handling food . The purpose of this study is to describe the application ofhazard analysis and critical control points in the household tape industry in the District ofSukosari, Bondowoso Regency.This type of research is descriptive and observational with the object of research beingthe entire home industry of tape production in the District of Sukosari with a population of2 IRTP. The research variables studied included the application of hazard identification,determination of CCP, determination of critical limits, monitoring of CCP, corrective actions,application of hazard analysis and critical control point systems and descriptive dataanalysis.The results showed that the application of hazard identification was in good category(70%), the determination of CCP was in a sufficient category (65%), determination ofcritical limit was in good category (80%), monitoring of CCP was in sufficient category(50%), corrective action was in good category (75%) so that the application of the hazardanalysis and critical control gets a good category (68.41%).The advice given to handlers is to wash their hands regularly after and before theproduction process and not use their hands directly when touching food. The IRTP paysmore attention to hygiene and sanitation in the processing of food production and routinelyperforms cleaning and maintenance at the production site.

Abstract

Kasus malaria di Pulau Jawa sebagian besar dikarenakan pasien yang putus selama pengobatan dan bertugas ke luar pulau sehingga masih berpotensi kambuh dan menjadi kasus kembali setelah kembali ke daerah asalnya. Kasus malaria di Puskesmas Tegalombo pada tahun 2022, terdapat 2 (dua) kasus jenis vivax. Puskesmas telah melakukan program pengendalian untuk menekan keberadaan vektor malaria seperti larvaciding, penyemprotan/ Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) dan pengendalian secara fisik. Namun upaya tersebut belum menunjukkan hasil maksimal, sehingga perlu dilakukan usaha pencegahan terpadu. Mengingat perilaku vektor malaria dalam menghisap darah pada malam hari maka upaya untuk memutus kontak dengan nyamuk adalah membiasakan masyarakat untuk tidur memakai kelambu. Metode praktek sangat baik dan cocok untuk meningkatkan keterampilan karang taruna dalam membuat dan memelihara kelambu celup berinsektisida untuk meminimalkan potensi terjadinya penyakit malaria. Pemeliharaan kelambu yang dimaksud adalah pencucian secara benar agar insektisida yang telah diaplikasikan tidak mudah menguap. Bahan yang digunakan dalam pembuatan kelambu berinsektsida adalah insektisida Icon 25EC dengan komposisi 1:10 dalam air. Selama pelaksanaan praktek, 40 orang karang taruna yang hadir mengikuti dengan baik sehingga pemahaman pembuatan dan pemeliharaan kelambu dapat secara mandiri. Monitoring dilakukan 2 (dua) bulan setelah pelaksanaan pengabdian, didapatkan hasil bahwa karang taruna yang telah dilatih melakukan alih teknologi kepada masyarakat sekitar rumah karang taruna.

Abstract

Domestic wastewater discharged directly into rivers can affect the environment that will accommodate the water. The more waste water produced, the greater the capacity used to accommodate the wastewater. This study aims to plan the design of the wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and the WWTP treatment system in accordance with the domestic waste generated by the male dormitory of the Darul Farah Islamic Boarding School. This research method is using descriptive research type. Data were collected through field observations, namely by observing and measuring the discharge and domestic wastewater disposal system in the male dormitory of the Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School, then the collected data were analyzed descriptively. Based on the results of the research, the clean water debit used for activities in the male dormitory of the Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School is 22.2 m3/day, so that the resulting wastewater discharge is 17.76 m3/day. The planned WWTP design uses the Anaerobic Baffled Reactor (ABR) method with a width of 2.6 m, a length of 9.6 m, and a height of 2 m. The WWTP design used for the male dormitory of the Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School is the Anaerobic Baffled Reactor (ABR). It is recommended for Islamic boarding schools to realize the construction of WWTPs for wastewater treatment in male dormitories so as not to pollute the environment.

Abstract

The Jambangan culinary tourism center consist of 20 booth selling snacks consisting of food and beverages managed by Dinas Koperasi Kota Surabaya. The presence of visitors from various walks of life requires hygienic management so that it does not have the potential to cause disease transmission caused by food/drinks eaten. Unhealthy food can be caused by the presence of microbes in food and the surrounding environment, unqualified personal hygiene of traders, unhealthy food processing, equipment used that does not meet health requirements. This service activity is one of the efforts made in minimizing microbial contamination on cutlery, one of which is by utilizing kaffir lime leaves as a natural disinfectant with a concentration of 100 mg/100 ml which can minimize the number of germs on cutlery by 79%. Another effort that supports solving the problem of the presence of E.coli contamination is by changing individual healthy behavior habits carried out by traders, namely personal hygiene.

Abstract

Sanitasi dasar yang tidak diterapkan dengan baik dapat menimbulkan penyakit diare. Pada tahun 2022 jumlah rumah tidak sehat di wilayah RW 5 Sukomanunggal Baru PJKA sebanyak 191 rumah dari 353 rumah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kondisi sanitasi dasar rumah dengan kejadian diare di wilayah RW 5 Sukomanunggal Baru PJKA. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian observasional analitik dengan pendekatan case control. Populasi yang digunakan yaitu semua rumah penderita diare selama 5 bulan terakhir tahun 2022 yang tercatat di Puskesmas Simomulyo. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan Simple Random Sampling. Besar sampel kasus sebanyak 36 dan sampel kontrol 36. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan lembar observasi, kemudian diuji dengan Chi square pada tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada hubungan signifikan antara sarana penggunaan jamban dengan kejadian diare (P=0,000), ada hubungan antara pengelolaan sampah dengan kejadian diare (P =0,033), ada hubungan antara saluran pembuangan air limbah dengan kejadian diare (P =0,018). Kesimpulannya adalah penggunaan jamban, pengelolaan sampah dan SPAL berhubungan signifikan dengan kejadian diare. Disarankan maasyarakat dapat membersihkan jamban menggunakan desinfeksi, tempat sampah yang digunakan diberi tutup dan dikosongkan setiap 1x24 jam, serta melakukan kerja bakti seminggu sekali untuk membersihkan SPAL yang digunakan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: The mosque in Kejapanan Village, Pasuruan Regency has sanitation problems in the form of inadequate physical buildings. Based on a preliminary survey, there was 1 mosque using well water which had an E.Coli content of 650 compared to the required level of 0/100 ml. The aim of this research is to describe the sanitary conditions of mosques in the Kejapanan Village area, Pasuruan Regency. Method: The design of this research is descriptive observational research, with a cross-sectional approach. The variables studied included the sanitary conditions of mosques and E.Coli parameters of well water in the Kejapanan Village area, Pasuruan Regency. Data collection techniques use observation. The data collected was then analyzed descriptively through table analysis. Results: Mosque sanitation assessments have been carried out, in the 4 mosques in Kejapanan Village, Pasuruan Regency, there are still mosques that do not meet the requirements. The mosque studied did not have facilities such as prayer carpets and trash cans with lids. Mosque well water samples tested by the UPTD Regional Health Laboratory, resulted in an Escherichia coli (E.Coli) content of 25 - 650 from a maximum level of 0/100 ml so it did not meet clean water quality standards. Conclusion: Mosque sanitation in Kejapanan Village, Pasuruan Regency, there are still mosques that do not comply with sanitation requirements. For mosque managers, efforts need to be made to improve mosque sanitation and for future researchers, they can carry out research using input variables that are thought to cause contamination of mosque sanitation and sources of clean water for ablution in mosques.
