Abstract

This study explores the opportunities and challenges of implementing Work-Life Balance (WLB) in the MSME sector, using a case study at Rumangsa Kopi Pontianak. Adopting a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observation of part-time employees, mostly university students. Findings reveal that flexible scheduling, a familial work culture, and open communication are key enablers of WLB. Nevertheless, challenges remain, such as the absence of written SOPs, uneven workload during peak hours, and limited rest facilities. This study affirms that WLB can be adaptively implemented in MSMEs through a humanistic approach and contributes to the development of more inclusive and contextual HRM practices.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of job training programs and the provision of job market information on the job readiness of Vocational High School (SMK) graduates from a human resource management perspective. Using a quantitative approach with a survey method allowed researchers to collect data from 200 SMK graduates in a specific region who had participated in job training and had access to job market information. A valid and reliable questionnaire was used as the data collection instrument and was analyzed using multiple linear regression to test the influence of each independent variable on the dependent variable, namely job readiness. The results showed that job training programs and job market information significantly and positively influenced the job readiness of SMK graduates. This finding confirms that providing training that is in line with industry needs and increasing access to job market information are important factors in improving graduates' competence and competitiveness in the workforce. This study provides strategic implications for schools, the government, and industry stakeholders in developing more effective human resource development policies and programs that are relevant to current and future job market needs

Abstract

This study aims to assess the level of human resource (HR) readiness in the use of SIMRS and its implications for the efficiency of outpatient services. The research method used is a literature study by reviewing various scientific articles, books, and recent research reports relevant to the topic. The results of the review indicate that HR readiness can be categorized into three levels: low, medium, and high, with different characteristics and impacts on service quality. Hospitals with high HR readiness are characterized by adequate digital competency, managerial support, and an adaptive organizational culture, thereby reducing patient waiting times, increasing data accuracy, strengthening inter-unit coordination, and encouraging patient satisfaction. Conversely, low readiness results in slow administrative processes, a high risk of input errors, and increased resistance to change. The main obstacles identified include limited digital literacy, HR resistance, excessive workload, and minimal technical support. Recommended strategies include ongoing training, technical assistance, organizational change management, workload adjustments, and regular evaluation to ensure sustainable implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work-life balance on employee engagement with job stress as a mediating variable through a literature study approach. The method used is a literature review of scientific articles, national and international journals, and relevant books published between 2019 and 2025. The selected literature focuses on the relationship between work-life balance, job stress, and employee engagement. The findings indicate that work-life balance has a significant positive effect on employee engagement. Employees who maintain a balance between personal life and work tend to be more enthusiastic, loyal, and dedicated. Conversely, job stress has a negative impact on employee engagement by reducing motivation, energy, and commitment. Furthermore, work-life balance negatively affects job stress, functioning as a protective factor that reduces stress levels. These results confirm that job stress mediates the relationship between work-life balance and employee engagement. The study provides practical implications for organizations to design policies that support employees’ work-life balance, such as flexible work arrangements, organizational support, and mental health programs, in order to enhance employee engagement and organizational sustainability.

Abstract

This literature review aims to analyze the role of Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) security in enhancing the organizational competitiveness of hospitals in Indonesia. SIMRS has become a crucial instrument in supporting efficiency, transparency, and the quality of healthcare services. However, the growing use of electronic medical records also presents serious challenges related to patient data security and privacy. This study reviews 10 national publications issued between 2017 and 2025, focusing on SIMRS security issues. The findings reveal that the main challenges lie in weak access control, insufficient encryption, limited audit logs, and the suboptimal implementation of basic security features such as auto logout. Moreover, patient privacy aspects such as consent mechanisms, role-based access, and the principle of data minimization are rarely applied. Managerial factors, including low awareness among healthcare staff and weak internal policies, further exacerbate security risks. Overall, the success of SIMRS implementation is determined not only by technological sophistication but also by regulatory compliance, managerial commitment, and ethical awareness among healthcare workers. Strengthening SIMRS security is considered a strategic investment to enhance patient trust, strengthen hospital reputation, and support organizational competitiveness in the digital era.
