Abstract

The Javanese Islamic Aboge calendar is one of the local Indonesian calendars whose calculations are static and standard. The Javanese calendar is a special calendar because it is a blend of Islamic culture and Javanese Hindu-Buddhist culture whose calculations are based on the moon around the sun. Astronomically, the Javanese calendar is classified as a mathematical calendar, while the Hijri calendar is an astronomical calendar. Methodologically this paper is a Research Library where the data collected comes from library sources that are considered representatively related to the object of this study. This paper is descriptive-analytical, where this paper will explain and explain the truth and error of a fact. Then also analytically developed in a balanced manner by looking at the advantages and disadvantages of the object under study. According to the reckoning rukyah discourse, the Aboge system which includes 'urfi reckoning is no longer relevant to what is required by syara' and cannot be used in determining the beginning of the Lunar month related to the implementation of worship (determination of Ramadan fasting and holidays). Because according to this system, the age of Sha'ban remains 29 days while the month of Ramadan also remains 30 days.

Abstract

The Dayak Kantuk have a farming custom where the timing of activities is based on the position of celestial bodies. Farming activities are carried out sequentially including looking for land, slashing, cutting, burning, planting rice seeds, clearing grass, harvesting and Gawai Dayak. This research is included in ethnoastronomy research. Data collection was carried out by means of a literature study. Then the data were analyzed using content analysis and observation techniques. The results showed that the Dayak Kantuk used the luni-solar calendar system to determine farming time. The position of the stars is used as a tool to determine the season. The connection with astronomy is that the determination of the month is equally based on the moon in the sky. However, because the Dayak Kantuk also apply the seasons as the basis for the calendar, the month counts cannot go hand in hand. On the other hand, global rashdul qibla occurs exactly a week after the Gawai Dayak event, so that the Dayak Kantuk Muslim community can measure the Qibla direction exactly a week after the Gawai event.

Research methodology includes methods of resource analysis, collection of data from various sources, and application of relevant analytical techniques. The results showed that Ancient Egyptian civilization had a major role in the development of Abbasid Era science. This is seen in the transfer of knowledge, astronomical advances, translations of classical works, improvements to the Hijri calendar, and the impact on navigation. Innovation, recognition of cultural and knowledge diversity, and advances in science are driven by integration. The results suggest that the integration of culture and knowledge can enable the development of scientific knowledge. In the current context of global openness of science, this has relevance. This study enhances science and increases our understanding of how different civilizations affect science. Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the influence of e-service quality, halal perception, and trust in online platforms on customer loyalty, with customer satisfaction as a mediating variable, focusing on users of Bank Digital Aladin Syariah among Generation Z students. Method: The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach using purposive sampling. Data were collected via structured questionnaires and analyzed using path analysis with multiple linear regression, including F-test and t-test procedures, processed through SPSS version 30. Results: The results indicated that e-service quality, halal perception, and trust in online platforms had a significant direct effect on both customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. However, customer satisfaction did not serve as a mediating variable in the relationship between the three independent variables and loyalty, suggesting that these factors influenced loyalty independently. Implication: The findings provide managerial insights for Islamic digital banking institutions to focus on improving digital service quality, reinforcing Sharia compliance, and building platform trust to foster customer loyalty. Originality: This paper contributes to the literature on Islamic digital finance by integrating technological, ethical, and religious variables into a unified model for explaining customer loyalty. The study offers a novel perspective by focusing on Generation Z users with specific exposure to Islamic banking education and experience.

Abstract

This article examines the use of a hermeneutical approach in the process of istinbat (legal reasoning) by the National Sharia Council–Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI), with specific reference to Fatwa No. 77/DSN-MUI/V/2010 concerning non-cash gold trading. The fatwa has generated scholarly debate, as it permits transactions seemingly contrary to hadiths mandating immediate exchange for ribawi commodities. The study adopts Abdullah Saeed’s contextual hermeneutics, emphasizing implementational values and socio-historical context in interpreting Islamic legal texts. By integrating ethico-legal principles and the objectives of Islamic law (maqasid al-sharia), DSN-MUI engages in a structured hierarchy of values and applies usul al-fiqh methodologies to address contemporary economic challenges. While some critics argue that the fatwa diverges from a strict textualist reading of hadith, the DSN-MUI’s contextual approach demonstrates normative adaptability without compromising sharia principles. This approach responds to emerging financial realities, such as digital transactions, while upholding the public interest (maslahah). The study highlights the significance of hermeneutical methods in balancing the authority of religious texts with the evolving needs of society, and affirms the DSN-MUI’s strategic role in shaping progressive and globally responsive Islamic economic jurisprudence.
