Abstract

Background: Improper feeding and appetite disorders are chronically the causes of stunting. Efforts to improve the nutrition of toddlers can be carried out through the provision of additional sources of nutrition. Modified Dietetic Skimmed Milk and Coconut Oil (Modisco) combined with appetite massage is one of the alternatives that need to be tested for effectiveness in optimizing the nutritional status of stunted toddlers. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the combination of modisco and appetite massage on the nutritional status of stunted toddlers. Methods: The design was quasi-experimental with a pre-test and posttest control design approach. The large sample of 30 stunted children aged 1-5 years was divided into two groups using a simple random sampling technique. The intervention group was given modisco for 15 days and appetite massage 3x/week, and the control group was given only modisco for 15 days. Measurements of weight, height, and nutritional intake before and after the intervention. Data analysis used paired t-tests and independent t-tests. Results: There was a difference in body weight between the intervention and control groups (p-value=0.02; 95%CI=0.28-0.40). There was a difference in nutritional intake in the intervention group and control groups, namely in carbohydrate nutrients (p-value = 0.02; 95%CI=5.67-81.62), Vitamin B1 (p-value≤0.001; 95%CI=-3.97 – (-2, 02)), Vitamin B6 (p-value=0.008; 95%CI=0.17-1.01), Vitamin C (p-value≤0.001; 95%CI=16.01-34.72). There was no significant difference in height/body length of the intervention and control groups (p-value=0.38; 95%CI=-0.03 – (-0.07). Conclusions: The combination of Modisco and appetite massage was more effective in increasing weight and nutritional intake than Modisco alone. Midwives are expected to educate mothers of toddlers to provide Modisco and appetite massage.

Abstract

Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Berdasarkan observasi awal pada tanggal 2 sampai 30 September 2018 di kelas IX G SMPN 3 Klari-Karawang ditemukan beberapa fakta yakni hasil nilai ulangan harian belum mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) yakni 75 (hanya 14,17% siswa yang mencapai KKM, dan nilai rerata siswa adalah 50), siswa kurang terampil dalam melakukan praktikum, dan hanya siswa tertentu yang aktif dan terlihat antusias dalam pembelajaran. Hal merupakan bukti bahwa motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa perlu ditingkatkan. Solusi yang dapat diterapkan adalah menerapkan model pembelajaran Inkuiri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperoleh paparan yang jelas tentang peningkatan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa kelas IX G SMPN 3 Klari-Karawang melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Inkuiri. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini dilakukan pada materi Sistem Ekskresi pada manusia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, motivasi belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari 72% pada siklus I menjadi 82% pada siklus II, hasil belajar kognitif siswa mengalami peningkatan dari 79,41% pada siklus I menjadi 88,24% pada siklus II, hasil belajar psikomotor siswa mengalami peningkatan dari 78% pada siklus I menjadi 91% pada siklus II, hasil belajar afektif siswa mengalami peningkayan dari 84% pada siklus I menjadi 90% pada siklus II. Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Inkuiri dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa kelas IX G SMPN 3 Klari, Karawang, Jawa Barat.

Abstract

The stunting rate of toddlers in Pasirkratonkramat Village, the Kramatsari Health Center Area’s, is the highest in Pekalongan City in 2022 and shows an increase in the past year. Stunting prevention is effective in the premarital period. However, health services in the Kamaratsari Health Center Area’s are still not optimal because of the ineffective implementation of adolescent posyandu and there are no premarital classes. In addition, the number of teenage marriages in the region is also still high and plays a role in the problem of stunting under five. This PKM aims to improve premarital health services through the establishment of CAGAR WARGA (Calon Pengantin Bugar Jiwa Raga) premarital class in the hope of improving marriage preparation and reducing the number of teenage marriages. The implementation of this premarital class program activity starts from socialization together with partners to provide information about technical activities and targets, then continues with agreements with midwives, cadres, youth representatives to determine the time and place of implementation. Premarital class activities start from premarital screening covering nutritional status, then continue with the provision of nutrition education, physical preparation, mental preparation, spiritual preparation and maturation of marriage age. Evaluation of activities is carried out well and smoothly in each activity. This premarital class program is expected to become a routine program for puskesmas in Pekalongan City in an effort to prevent stunting.

Abstract

Background: Increased female labor is one of the challenges in making the exclusive breastfeeding program successful. Factors that hinder the success of a working mother are short time off work, shorter workplace support, shorter breaks at work, no open space for milking the mother's milk, opposition to the mother's need for increased breastfeeding and production.Objective: To find out the relationship between family support and company support with the performance of working mothers in the Pekalongan Regency.Method: an analytical study related to family and relationships with mother companies in Pekalongan District with cross sectional support. The independent variable in this study is family assistance and company support, while the independent variable is the assistance of working mothers. The population in this study was the study of working mothers in companies in the Pekalongan Regency.Results: analysis with the Chi square test obtained p value of 0.856 ( 0.05) so that it can be concluded that there is no relationship between families support and performance. The analysis with the chi square test obtained a p value of 0.008 (0.05), which concerns the relationship between corporate support and performance resulting in an odds ratio of 7.87, company support that can produce 8 times the consuming performance gets better.Suggestion: Company leaders need to maintain and improve policies for female employees to facilitate breastfeeding, and also need to be provided with lactation rooms that make it easier for mothers to milk breast milk between working hours.

Abstract

Terapi Oksigen Hiperbarik (TOHB) berfungsi meningkatkan oksigenasi jaringan sehingga berpotensi mempengaruhi kualitas tidur. Kualitas tidur yang baik bagi penderita diabetes melitus berperan dalam pengendalian kadar gula darah, pemulihan tubuh, serta peningkatan sistem imun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan kualitas tidur penderita diabetes melitus yang menjalani Terapi Oksigen Hiperbarik (TOHB). Desain penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Sampel diambil secara keseluruhan dari penderita diabetes melitus yang menjalani Terapi Oksigen Hiperbatik (TOHB) di LAKESLA Drs.Med. R. Rijadi, Phys sejumlah 29. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitas tidur penderita diabetes melitus yang menjalani TOHB dan diukur menggunakan kuesioner Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penderita diabetes melitus yang menjalani Terapi Oksigen Hiperbarik (TOHB) pada frekuensi terapi oksigen hiperbarik dalam jumlah sesi relative rendah, mayoritas responden masih berada pada tahap/sesi awal atau pertengahan program terapi. Kualitas tidur pasien yang menjalani terapi oksigen hiperbarik berada pada kualitas tidur sedang hingga baik. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah perlu komitmen dan keaktifan responden dalam menyelesaikan serangkaian sesi TOHB sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas tidur penderita diabetes melitus

Abstract

Early childhood in children is an extraordinary stage of development. Children experience complex physical growth and mental development. The child's reaction and adaptation to environmental stimuli occurs quickly. However, at this time it is also prone to health problems including problems with malnutrition, stunting, obesity problems, respiratory and digestive tract infections, delays in speech development, and emotional problems. Therefore, education for parents to optimize early childhood health is urgently needed. This community service program aims to increase parental knowledge in improving early childhood health. This program was implemented in January 2023 with 25 parents attending the meeting. The method used in this activity is to provide education to parents by carrying out pre-test and post-test. The target of community service is all parents (mothers) who have early childhood children. Mothers have an average age of 32.72 years with an age variation of 4.89, the minimum age is 26 years and the oldest is 42 years. Most of them are housewives (68%) with the most education being high school or vocational school graduates, namely 40%. Providing education about optimizing early childhood health resulted in an average increase in mother's knowledge of 0.76 or the equivalent of 5.06%. These results indicate an increase in parental knowledge in improving early childhood health. This is expected to increase the capacity of parents in optimizing their child health.

Abstract

Literasi awal merupakan kemampuan dasar yang sangat penting bagi anak usia dini sebagai fondasi perkembangan kognitif, bahasa, dan sosial-emosional pada tahap pendidikan selanjutnya. Namun, rendahnya minat baca dan terbatasnya akses anak terhadap bahan bacaan yang menarik masih menjadi permasalahan utama dalam pengembangan literasi awal. Program Pojok Baca hadir sebagai salah satu alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi awal anak usia dini melalui penyediaan ruang baca yang nyaman, menarik, dan mudah diakses di lingkungan belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Program Pojok Baca terhadap peningkatan literasi awal anak usia dini. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian yakni dengan 3 (tiga) tahapan yakni tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap evaluasi. Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan terlihat bahwa Program Pojok Baca dilaksanakan dengan menyediakan berbagai jenis buku cerita bergambar, media literasi visual, serta kegiatan pendampingan membaca yang terintegrasi dengan proses pembelajaran harian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Program Pojok Baca mampu meningkatkan minat baca anak, memperkaya kosakata, serta mengembangkan kemampuan mengenal huruf, bunyi, dan makna sederhana secara bertahap. Selain itu, anak menunjukkan antusiasme yang lebih tinggi dalam kegiatan membaca mandiri maupun bersama guru dan teman sebaya. Dengan demikian, Program Pojok Baca terbukti memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan literasi awal anak usia dini dan dapat dijadikan sebagai strategi efektif dalam mendukung pembelajaran literasi di lembaga pendidikan anak usia dini.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Adolescence is recognized as a critical developmental phase characterized by rapid biological, psychological, and social changes. Adolescent girls living in orphanages are identified as experiencing multiple vulnerabilities, including limited access to reproductive health services, low nutritional knowledge, elevated levels of stress and anxiety, and restricted social skills. These conditions are considered to require holistic and participatory empowerment interventions. The program was developed as a science- and technology-based empowerment model in which nutrition and reproductive health education, modified yoga practice, peer group strengthening through role-play, and life skills training were integrated. This Community Service Program was conducted over eight months at Aisyiyah Putri Orphanage in Pekajangan, Pekalongan Regency, and involved 20 adolescent girls aged 13–18 years. The intervention was implemented through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), educational sessions, demonstrations, yoga practice delivered by a certified instructor, mentoring activities, and pre–post evaluations using a validated and reliable questionnaire (α = 0.72). Significant improvements in knowledge were observed, with mean scores increasing from 62.5 to 78.4. Reductions in stress levels (20.1 to 14.8) and anxiety (from 18.2 to 12.7), were also recorded, while psychosocial scores were found to improve from 65.7 to 75.2. These findings indicate that a participatory communication approach integrating health education, modified yoga, and peer group activities is effective in strengthening adolescents’ holistic capacities. The program is considered a relevant biopsychosocial empowerment model for orphanage settings and is regarded as having strong potential for sustainability through institutional support and digital-based monitoring systems.  Keywords: Adolescent girls; Biopsychosocial well-being; Health education; Modified yoga; Peer group   ABSTRAK  Masa remaja merupakan fase perkembangan kritis yang ditandai perubahan biologis, psikologis, dan sosial yang cepat. Remaja putri di panti asuhan menghadapi kerentanan ganda, meliputi keterbatasan akses kesehatan reproduksi, rendahnya pengetahuan gizi, masalah psikologis seperti stres dan kecemasan, serta keterbatasan keterampilan sosial. Kondisi tersebut menuntut intervensi pemberdayaan yang holistik dan partisipatif. Program dikembangkan sebagai model pemberdayaan berbasis IPTEKS yang mengintegrasikan edukasi gizi dan kesehatan reproduksi, praktik yoga modifikasi, penguatan peer group melalui role play, serta pelatihan life skills. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini dilaksanakan selama delapan bulan di Panti Asuhan Putri Aisyiyah Pekajangan Kabupaten Pekalongan dengan melibatkan 20 remaja putri usia 13–18 tahun. Metode yang digunakan meliputi Focus Group Discussion (FGD), edukasi, demonstrasi, praktik yoga oleh instruktur bersertifikat, pendampingan, serta evaluasi pre–post menggunakan kuesioner yang telah teruji validitas dan reliabilitasnya (α = 0,72). Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada aspek pengetahuan (mean pre-test 62,5 menjadi 78,4), penurunan tingkat stres (20,1 menjadi 14,8) dan kecemasan (18,2 menjadi 12,7), serta peningkatan aspek psikososial (65,7 menjadi 75,2). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan komunikasi partisipatif melalui integrasi edukasi kesehatan, yoga modifikasi, dan peer group efektif meningkatkan kapasitas remaja putri secara holistik. Program terbukti relevan sebagai model komunikasi pemberdayaan remaja berbasis pendekatan biopsikososial di lingkungan panti asuhan. Program ini berpotensi dikembangkan secara berkelanjutan dengan memperkuat peran pengelola panti dan integrasi media digital untuk mendukung monitoring serta dampak jangka panjang. Abstract

Abstrak: Kecemasan pada ibu hamil muncul akibat perubahan fisiologis dan psikologis selama kehamilan yang dapat memengaruhi kesejahteraan ibu dan janin, terutama bila disertai rendahnya self-efficacy. Pengabdian ini bertujuan menurunkan kecemasan dan meningkatkan self-efficacy melalui paket caring di Desa Dadirejo. Metode meliputi sosialisasi, edukasi, dan praktik mindfulness kombinasi aromaterapi serta musik relaksasi pada 20 ibu hamil. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan melalui kuesioner pre-test & post-test pengetahuan dan pengukuran tingkat kecemasan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Keberhasilan kegiatan dinilai dari peningkatan skor pengetahuan serta penurunan tingkat kecemasan setelah intervensi. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan baik tentang kecemasan dari 30% menjadi 70% dan self-efficacy dari 40% menjadi 70%, dengan kenaikan mean 4,4 dan 3,1. Kategori cemas sedang dan berat menurun menjadi 0%, serta tidak cemas meningkat dari 10% menjadi 55%. Paket caring efektif meningkatkan kesiapan psikologis dan direkomendasikan dalam pelayanan antenatal.Abstract: Anxiety during pregnancy arises from physiological and psychological changes that may affect maternal and fetal well-being, particularly when self-efficacy is low. This program aimed to reduce anxiety and improve self-efficacy through a caring package in Dadirejo Village. Methods included socialization, education, and mindfulness practice combined with aromatherapy and relaxation music involving 20 pregnant women. Evaluation was conducted using pre-test & post-test knowledge questionnaires and measurement of anxiety levels before and after the intervention. The success of the activity was assessed based on an increase in knowledge scores and a decrease in anxiety levels after the intervention. Results showed increased good knowledge of anxiety (30% to 70%) and self-efficacy (40% to 70%), with mean increases of 4.4 and 3.1. Moderate and severe anxiety decreased to 0%, while the non-anxious category increased from 10% to 55%. The caring package effectively improved psychological readiness and is recommended for antenatal services.
