Abstract

This research aims to design an expert system using the forward chaining method to facilitate the early diagnosis of lung diseases in children, such as tuberculosis, pneumonia, and bronchitis. The system is designed to help the community, especially in areas with limited access to healthcare services, in recognizing symptoms independently. The methodology uses the stages of the Expert System Development Life Cycle (ESDLC), including problem identification, knowledge acquisition from experts, design, and testing using black box techniques. This system is capable of detecting symptoms, matching them with a rule base, and providing an initial diagnosis along with recommended actions. The implementation results show that the system can support quick and accurate medical decision-making, as well as enhance public health awareness through internet-based access.

Abstract

This study aims to cluster traffic violation data recorded by CCTV in the Sidoarjo area using the K-Means Clustering algorithm. The dataset used in this study was obtained from Sidoarjo Police, covering 43,055 traffic violation records in the period January 2023 to July 2024. The CRISP-DM approach is applied to ensure a systematic research flow, starting from problem understanding, data collection, to result evaluation. After the data selection and transformation stage, the dataset was processed into 14,386 data. Clustering was performed to divide violations into three categories based on severity, namely high, medium, and low. Evaluation of cluster quality using Silhouette Score showed the best result with a value of 0.9916 at k=9, indicating optimal cluster formation. The clustering results showed that the highest violation occurred in the category of “not using a seat belt” with 8,710 cases, while the moderate violation involved “not wearing a helmet” with 5,522 cases. This study confirms the effectiveness of the K-Means algorithm in clustering traffic violation data and provides valuable insights for the Sidoarjo Police Traffic Unit in designing more efficient traffic violation reduction programs.

Abstract

This study aims to develop website-based Civics E-Book lecture media to improve the cultural and civic literacy skills of PGSD students of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo University. This research was conducted based on the results of research conducted by researchers funded by DRPM Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo in the 2021/2022 fiscal year with the title "Cultural and Civic Literacy Abilities of PGSD UMSIDA Students in the 21st Century", where it was found that the cultural and civic literacy abilities of PGSD UMSIDA students of 68.4% had quite high cultural and civic literacy abilities. Based on this, eating needs to be improved so that the cultural and civic literacy skills of UMSIDA PGSD students become high, especially in Civic Education (Civics) lectures through a website-based Civics E-Book. The research is a Research and Development (R&D) research with the ADDIE version development model which is a synthesize of Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation.

Abstract

General Background The advancement of mobile technology has enabled digital solutions to support economic activities, including agricultural product distribution. Specific Background Farmers often face challenges such as limited market access and dependency on intermediaries, which reduce their profit margins. Knowledge Gap Existing systems do not fully provide a direct and accessible platform for farmers to connect with consumers through mobile applications. Aims This study aims to design and develop an Android-based e-commerce application to facilitate agricultural product transactions between farmers and consumers. Results The system is developed using a prototype model and incorporates features such as product listing, transaction management, and user interaction interfaces supported by UML modeling including use case, activity, and class diagrams. The application enables users to access product information and perform transactions efficiently. Novelty The integration of mobile-based e-commerce with direct farmer-to-consumer interaction provides a practical solution to reduce dependency on intermediaries. Implications This system supports improved accessibility in agricultural markets and offers a digital platform for more efficient transaction processes. Abstract

General background Eye diseases are a significant health issue and often go undiagnosed accurately. Specific background With advancements in technology, web-based expert systems offer solutions for more efficient and accurate diagnosis. Knowledge gap However, there are still limitations in the application of systematic diagnostic methods in the context of eye diseases. Aims This research aims to develop an expert system that can diagnose eye diseases using the Certainty Factor method. Results The designed system successfully identified the symptoms of eye diseases with a high accuracy percentage, providing relevant diagnosis results based on user input. Novelty This study introduces the use of the Certainty Factor method in an expert system specifically for eye diseases, which has not been widely applied before. Implications These findings are expected to help raise public awareness about eye health and encourage users to consult with specialists after receiving results from the expert system. Thus, this system not only functions as a diagnostic tool but also serves as an educational medium for users. Abstract

The primary parameter for measuring higher education quality, which also has a crucial impact on the accreditation process, is the percentage of students graduating on time. However, the reality on the ground shows that many students face obstacles in completing their studies within the ideal timeframe. Therefore, a data-driven strategy is needed to project students' chances of graduation early. This research aims to compare the performance of the Decision Tree (C4.5) and Naïve Bayes algorithms in classifying the potential for on-time graduation. The data utilized included 161 entries from the Informatics Study Program, class of 2022, at the University of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo. The attributes analyzed were divided into academic and non-academic factors, including gender, first-semester social studies grades (IPS), GPA, PKMU (Community Service Program) graduation score and status, BQ and Ibadah scores, and accumulated SKEK points. The research process went through several phases: preprocessing, class labeling, model development, and performance evaluation through a confusion matrix and 5-fold cross-validation. The test was validated by separating the training and test data into ratios of 70:30, 80:20, and 90:10. Based on the test results, the C4.5 algorithm achieved a peak accuracy of 100% across all ratio scenarios, with an average cross-validation accuracy of 96.88%. Meanwhile, Naïve Bayes achieved a maximum accuracy of 94.13% with an average cross-validation of 93.00%. These findings indicate that the C4.5 algorithm has superior performance on this specific dataset. The output of this predictive model is expected to serve as an objective basis for institutions in establishing proactive academic policies.

Abstract

This research focuses on optimizing network management at PT Laxo Global Akses by implementing bandwidth restrictions and restricting access to non-work related websites and applications. Internet usage in the company was previously unrestricted, resulting in decreased productivity and unstable network performance, especially during peak hours. To address these issues, this research applies the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC) methodology and utilizes MikroTik devices for configuration. Key features such as Queue Tree for bandwidth distribution, Firewall Filtering for access control, and Hotspot User Management for user authentication were implemented. The redesigned network topology allows for more structured traffic management and real-time monitoring. The test results show that all test scenarios have succeeded as expected, so it can be concluded that the network configuration and policies implemented in the NDLC process were 100% successful at the implementation and testing stages.

Abstract

This Community Service program aims to improve the digital literacy and computational thinking skills of elementary school teachers through game-based programming algorithm training using the Scratch platform. The problems faced by partners are teachers' limited understanding of programming algorithm concepts and the minimal use of interactive technology-based learning media in the learning process. The This Community Service program activity was carried out at Muhammadiyah Jasem Ngoro Elementary School in Mojokerto using a participatory and hands-on training method, which included needs analysis, module development, training implementation, and program evaluation. To measure the effectiveness of the activity, pre-test and post-test instruments were used that examined aspects of digital literacy, computational thinking, understanding of basic algorithms, and mastery of Scratch. The evaluation results showed significant improvements in all aspects measured, where teachers not only understood algorithm concepts conceptually but were also able to develop simple educational games relevant to elementary school learning. This program had a positive impact on improving teacher competence, confidence, and readiness in integrating technology-based learning. Thus, the Scratch-based programming algorithm training is effective as an effort to strengthen the digital literacy and computational thinking of elementary school teachers.

Abstract

Meningkatnya keluhan dan pujian pelanggan terhadap layanan internet menunjukkan pentingnya memahami opini publik secara menyeluruh. Jika hal ini tidak dimanfaatkan dengan baik, perusahaan provider internet dapat kehilangan peluang untuk memperbaiki layanan secara tepat sasaran, yang pada akhirnya menurunkan kepuasan pelanggan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis sentimen pelanggan terhadap perusahaan penyedia layanan internet Biznet menggunakan Text Mining dengan algoritma Naïve Bayes dan Support Vector Machine (SVM). Data diambil dari X.com (Twitter) menggunakan Tweepy, lalu diproses melalui pembersihan, normalisasi, tokenisasi, pelabelan sentimen dengan VADER, serta ekstraksi fitur menggunakan TF-IDF (Term Frequency–Inverse Document Frequency) untuk mengubah teks menjadi data numerik yang relevan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa SVM dengan kernel Sigmoid memberikan akurasi tertinggi (94,29%), diikuti oleh SVM Linear (93,92%) dan Naïve Bayes Bernoulli (88,21%).  Berdasarkan akurasi, precision, recall, dan F1-score, SVM dengan kernel Sigmoid menjadi metode terbaik untuk analisis sentimen layanan perusahaan penyedia internet Biznet. Analisis sentimen ini diharapkan dapat membantu perusahaan memahami opini pelanggan secara lebih mendalam, sehingga perusahaan provider internet dapat menyusun strategi peningkatan layanan yang tepat sesuai kebutuhan pengguna. The increasing number of customer complaints and compliments regarding internet services highlights the importance of thoroughly understanding public opinion. If not properly leveraged, Biznet company may miss opportunities to improve their services effectively, ultimately reducing customer satisfaction. This study aims to analyze customer sentiment toward Biznet using Text Mining techniques with the Naïve Bayes and Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithms. Data was collected from X.com (Twitter) using Tweepy, then processed through cleaning, normalization, tokenization, sentiment labeling using VADER, and feature extraction using TF-IDF (Term Frequency–Inverse Document Frequency) to convert text into relevant numerical data. The results show that the SVM with a Sigmoid kernel achieved the highest accuracy (94.29%), followed by the Linear SVM (93.92%) and Bernoulli Naïve Bayes (88.21%). Based on accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, the SVM with a Sigmoid kernel is the best method for sentiment analysis of internet provider company’s services. This sentiment analysis is expected to help the company gain deeper insights into customer opinions, enabling the development of targeted strategies for service improvement that align with user needs.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has encouraged educational institutions to adopt digital-based systems to improve the effectiveness of administrative management, including school library services. The library of SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Porong still applies a manual system, which causes several problems such as recording errors, difficulties in searching for books, and inefficiency in the borrowing and returning process. This study aims to develop a website-based library information system called MY PERPUS to support library administration and improve service quality. The development method used in this research is the Waterfall model, which consists of requirement analysis, system design, and website development stages. Data were collected through observation and interviews with library staff and visitors. The developed system is equipped with login and registration features, book master data management, borrowing and returning transactions, and book return reminder notifications via Gmail. System testing using the black-box testing method indicates that all features function properly and produce outputs that meet the expected results. Therefore, the MY PERPUS website is able to improve the efficiency of library management, facilitate book searching, and help minimize delays in book returns..
