Abstract

This study's objective was to find and analyze the contribution of the impact of emotional intelligence, to training motivation and its impact on the achievement of table tennis athletes. The author uses a quantitative descriptive method. Utilizing a survey approach, quantitative research is the research methodology employed with an instrument using a questionnaire with a list of statements that have been structured with the aim of collecting information from emotional factors that affect the achievement of table tennis athletes as respondents in the study. The data was tested with a simple linear regression test to see the contribution between the emotional intelligence variable as the independent variable and training motivation as the dependent variable. The information description from the survey analysis of 51 respondents obtained the mean value of the emotional intelligence variable is 54.78 with a standard deviation of 6.74, while the training motivation variable is 56.24 with a standard deviation of 5.21. Regression analysis in table 2 shows the relationship or correlation coefficient (R) of 0.651. Based on the results results, The impact of the independent variable (emotional intelligence) on the dependent variable is indicated by the coefficient of determination (R Square), which is 0.424 (training motivation) is around 42.4%. This research reveals the importance of having emotional stability when performing physical activities and sports, which affects performance, response to stress, and psychological well-being. The emotional intelligence model consisting of knowledge, skills and attitudes provides a comprehensive framework for understanding emotional intelligence in sport. The model also highlights the positive relationship between emotional intelligence and subjective performance in sport. Abstract

Badminton is a sport that demands high movement efficiency and has a significant risk of injury. This study aims to analyze the relationship between biomechanics, movement efficiency, and injury risk in badminton athletes through a narrative literature review. The results of the analysis show that a biomechanics approach can improve understanding of techniques such as smash, lunge, and take-off, thus supporting optimal performance. The integration between biomechanics and motor learning contributes to the formation of correct techniques, especially in young athletes. In addition, biomechanical analysis provides insight into common injury mechanisms, such as shoulder and ligament injuries, and prevention strategies. This study confirms the importance of utilizing biomechanics in the training and coaching of badminton athletes to improve movement efficiency, minimize injury risk, and support the sustainability of athletes' careers.

Abstract

Problems: There are significant disparities in access to sports facilities, physical education teacher qualifications, and extracurricular programs between rural and urban schools. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare the universal values of sports between students from rural areas and students from urban areas in senior high school. Methods: Quantitative descriptive was used in this research with the survey method. This research was conducted using questionnaires as instruments. The study involved 151 high school student respondents; there were 71 students from rural areas and 80 students from urban areas, aged between 14-18 years old. The instrument in this study has 6 indicators and 73 question items, including problem solving, communication, teamwork, discipline, leadership, and fair play, which aims to assess the understanding of universal sports values among senior high school students. Results: The data collected was analyzed using an independent sample t-test with SPSS. The results showed the value of Sig. (2-tailed) > 0.05, meaning that there is no significant difference in the distribution of understanding of values between groups of students from rural and urban areas. Seen in the mean value of rural areas, 451.48, and the mean value of urban areas, 446.63. Conclusion: To follow up on the findings in this study, it is expected to take a larger and more diverse sample to get a more comprehensive picture of the influence of the environment on universal sports values.

Abstract

This study confirms that awards can increase athlete motivation if given with the right approach, such as informative feedback and an environment that supports athlete autonomy. With an effective policy, it is hoped that sports achievements in Bogor Regency can continue to increase, while also providing inspiration for other regions in designing similar policies. Analyzing the influence of budget and implementation on the effectiveness of the policy of awarding young athletes in Bogor Regency. Achievement sports are types that rely on skills to achieve certain targets, with a foundation of science and innovation in sports technology. To achieve optimal performance, an athlete must go through an intensive and focused training process. Without structured training, athletes will not be able to hone the skills needed to achieve their goals. Therefore, proper training management from an early age is very important in developing sports talent. The results of the study showed that partially, the budget variable had a significant effect on the policy with a significance value of 0.018 (p <0.05), while the implementation variable did not have a statistically significant effect. However, simultaneously, the budget and implementation together had a significant effect on the effectiveness of the policy

Abstract

There is limited information available regarding special education in Indonesia. Nonetheless, the development of motor skills is crucial for students with Down syndrome in an inclusive educational setting. Purpose: This research aims to assess the fundamental locomotor skills of students with Down Syndrome and to explore whether there are differences in motor performance based on sex. Method: A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, with a sample of 20 students, consisting of 10 males and 10 females with Down Syndrome. The Test of Gross Motor Development-2 (TGMD-2), created by Ulrich (2000), served as the evaluation tool. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and independent samples t-tests, utilizing SPSS version 29.0 and Microsoft Excel software. Results: The subtest component of jumping achieved the highest mean score (M = 4.1, SD = 1.944), whereas hopping showed the lowest performance (M = 2.35, SD = 1.182). About 70% of participants (n = 14) displayed average basic locomotor movement skills. Overall, there were no significant differences in locomotor movement skill performance based on gender (p = 0.195 > 0.05). Conclusion: Students with Down Syndrome showcase a range of skill levels across different movement abilities, with jumping identified as one of their strengths that requires intervention. The outcomes of this study aim to establish a valuable database regarding the locomotor skill profiles of students with Down syndrome in Indonesia, which is pertinent to inclusive education, and to provide a fresh perspective on the exploration of gender-related locomotor skills

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the most frequent freestyle swimming technique errors among elementary school rookie swimmers and examine how these errors affect swimming performance. A qualitative case study approach was used, utilizing the Front Crawl Technique Assessment instrument. The participants were 26 rookie swimmers who completed a 50-meter swim test, during which their technique errors and completion times were analyzed. The most frequent errors included kicking too deep, underreaching during entry, and lifting the head forward during inhalation. Pearson’s correlation analysis revealed a strong positive relationship between the number of technical errors and swim completion time (r = 0.95 for males; r = 0.93 for females, p < 0.01). This indicates that higher error rates were associated with slower swim times. These findings underscore the critical importance of technical precision in swimming performance and highlight the value of an objective assessment tool for evaluating and improving technique in young rookie swimmers. These results provide valuable guidance for coaches to design developmentally appropriate and targeted training programs that address specific technical weaknesses in rookie swimmers. Future researchers can build on these findings by testing whether targeted technique-correction programs accelerate skill acquisition in other swimming strokes or age groups

Abstract

This study aimed to compare the quality of life between members of the Fun Run and Slo-Pitch sport communities in Bandung City. A cross-sectional comparative study design was employed involving 125 participants, consisting of 65 Fun Run members and 60 Slo-Pitch members, selected through purposive sampling. Quality of life was measured using the WHOQOL-BREF instrument, which assesses physical, psychological, social, and environmental domains. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and an independent samples t-test. The results showed that the mean quality of life score of the Fun Run community (M = 92.9) was slightly higher than that of the Slo-Pitch community (M = 91.7); however, the difference was not statistically significant (p = 0.585). These findings indicate that there is no significant difference in overall quality of life between the two communities despite differences in activity characteristics. Given the cross-sectional nature of the study, the findings should be interpreted descriptively and do not imply a causal relationship. Further studies using longitudinal or mixed-methods designs are recommended to explore the underlying mechanisms linking community-based physical activity and quality of life.
