Abstract

Schools as the spearhead of education are required to improve the quality and quantity of learning outcomes. The number of problems in schools certainly cannot be separated from the concern of students, teachers, and education staff in achieving the school's vision and mission. This study aims to analyze the influence of emotional intelligence, workload, and cyberloafing on organizational commitment and performance of Indonesian language teachers at the Pelalawan high school level. The population of this study was all Indonesian language teachers at the high school level in Pelalawan Regency as many as 61 samples. This study used descriptive analysis and PLS Structural Equation Model analysis. The results of this study indicate that emotional intelligence is positively significant to organizational commitment, but not significant to teacher performance. The negative workload variable is not significant to organizational commitment but the positive is not significant to teacher performance. The cyberloafing variable is significantly positive on organizational commitment and not significantly negative on teacher performance.

Abstract

In the era of rapid development of information technology, the need for a news classification system is crucial to manage the increasing volume of information. This study aims to develop a news classification system in Indonesian into five main categories: Politics, Economy, Health, Security, and Poverty. The methods used include the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm and Naïve Bayes. The dataset consists of 2,000 news items obtained from Kaggle, with preprocessing stages including cleaning, tokenizing, normalization, and TF-IDF weighting. The evaluation was carried out through three data sharing scenarios: 70%-30%, 80%-20%, and 90%-10%. The results showed that the KNN algorithm achieved the highest accuracy of 89% in the 80%-20% and 90%-10% scenarios, while Naïve Bayes produced the best accuracy of 78.66% in the 70%-30% scenario. KNN proved to be more reliable for data with balanced category distribution, while Naïve Bayes required further adjustment, especially for underrepresented data categories. This research provides significant contributions to the development of an automatic news classification system, which can be implemented to improve user experience in accessing information.

Abstract

This study analyzes the performance of ensemble learning algorithms in detecting phishing URLs using the PhiUSIIL Phishing URL dataset. The three algorithms compared are CatBoost, XGBoost, and LightGBM. The research stages include data preprocessing, data division into an 80:20 train-test split, and performance evaluation based on accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. The results show that XGBoost has the best performance with an accuracy of 97.54% and an ROC AUC of 93.05%, followed by CatBoost with an accuracy of 97.46% and an ROC AUC of 92.94%. LightGBM, although it has lower performance, still shows good results with an accuracy of 96.99% and an ROC AUC of 91.85%. The data cleaning process successfully improves efficiency by eliminating irrelevant attribute analysis. This study confirms that ensemble algorithms can be implemented for the development of more effective and accurate phishing detection systems. XGBoost is recommended as the primary algorithm in detecting phishing threats in cybersecurity applications, thanks to its ability to handle large and complex data.

Abstract

This research aims to increase the catch of traditional fishermen in Sambuli Village, Kendari City, by introducing and utilizing fishing aids such as coconut shell fish aggregating devices and artificial bait (jigs). The service method used is participatory action research (PAR) with the stages of socialization, training, field practice, and evaluation and mentoring. The results of the service show that coconut shell fish shelters are effective in concentrating fish, thus increasing catch productivity, while artificial bait helps to extend fishing time and location. Fishermen successfully adopted this technology independently, resulting in reduced operational costs and increased revenue. The participatory approach has proven effective in empowering fishing communities while also preserving aquatic resources. This research provides an innovative model that can be replicated for the sustainable development of traditional fisheries in other coastal regions.

Abstract

Every educational institution has the same goal to improve the quality of education. Teacher performance is one of the important factors in efforts to improve the quality of education, which can be influenced by academic supervision and organizational culture. In fact, the existing problem in the schools so far is that teacher performance is still not optimal. There are still teachers who are incompetent in learning and there are still a number of teachers who cannot maximize their teaching. Hence, the study aims to determine and analyze the effect of academic supervision and organizational culture on teacher performance. The research method is field research with a quantitative approach. The research sample is public junior high school teachers who are civil servants at the Pasir Penyu District in Indragiri Hulu. The research instrument used is a questionnaire. Data collection techniques are observation, interview, and questionnaire. Data analysis techniques consist of quantitative and qualitative analyses. The research results reveal that academic supervision and organizational culture have a significant effect on teacher performance at public junior high schools in Pasir Penyu District with a positive effect direction. Thus, academic supervision and organizational culture factors support each other in maximizing teacher performance.

Abstract

Indonesia is highly vulnerable to hydrometeorological and geological disasters, but the understanding of disaster literacy among the younger generation, especially Generation Z, shows a significant gap. The purpose of this Community Service (PKM) activity is to improve the digital disaster literacy of students at Dua Mei Ciputat High School. The intervention method used was interactive education and structured practical training on the use of the official digital platform of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), which includes the website (www.bmkg.go.id) and the InfoBMKG mobile application. The activity approach adopted a one-group pre-test post-test design, which included socialization, lectures, scenario-based training, simulations, and quantitative evaluations of 58 students. The results showed a statistically significant improvement: 62.1% of students who stated in the pre-test that they had “never” accessed the BMKG platform transformed in the post-test to 96.5% of participants who “knew” how to access and validate official information. This activity proved effective in improving practical skills and adoption of official digital platforms, bridging the gap between students' digital exposure and the use of credible information sources. The intervention successfully addressed the core problem, which was not a lack of digital skills, but rather a lack of awareness and initial recognition of credible platforms.

Abstract

This Community Service activity carries the theme “Fun Learning Training Using Artificial Intelligence in Educational Learning for Junior High School Students.” This program aims to provide an interactive learning experience by utilizing AI chatbots and other AI-based applications to support general learning. This training involves basic theory on AI, demonstrations on the use of chatbots for subjects, hands-on practice in the form of interactive quizzes and storytelling, to creative mini projects. Through this activity, it is hoped that students will be more motivated to learn, understand how to use AI wisely, and improve their digital literacy. Of the 29 participants divided into 6 groups, all activities—from creating short stories with AI chatbots, visualizing images, to creating songs. These results confirm that the use of AI in educational learning can provide an interactive, enjoyable, and productive learning experience, while also opening up new insights for teachers in integrating modern technology into the learning process.
