Abstract

One way to reduce the scarcity of fuel oil is to make environmentally friendly alternative fuels such as biodiesel. The utilization of biodiesel can be a new energy source and also help reduce the excessive use of fuel, especially diesel and diesel oil in Indonesia. In Indonesia, the amount of palm oil will reach 49.7 tons by 2021, and this data is up 2.9% from the pre-vious year. Palm fruit is processed into CPO. More palm oil processing will produce waste called POME (Palm Oil Mill Effluent). The diesel engine transesterification method is suitable for the manufacture of biodiesel. The amount of base on the catalyst's surface affects the catalyst's activity. So that the higher the base value on the catalyst, the higher the yield of biodiesel that will be produced. The biodiesel produced will be tested on a 4-stroke diesel engine with a B5 and B10 blending composition. The study's results showed that the density and viscosity values for B5 were 5.8 cSt and 810 Kg/m3 and for B10 were 6.3 cSt and 860 Kg/m3. As for engine performance, power, torque, and SFC for B5 fuel at 4000-watt load conditions and 1000 Rpm, engine speeds are 1.18 Kw, 11.28 Nm, and 256.8 gr/Kw. B10 at 4000-watt load condition and 1000 Rpm engine speed is 1.16 Kw, 11.12 Nm, and 269.2 gr/Kw.

Abstract

In fact, in the welding process, there are many problems that arise. Such as cracking caused by excessive stress Residual stress can result in a decrease in the mechanical properties of a material such as brittle fracture, fatigue, and cracking. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of tensile strength in ASTM plate welded joints A36 with variations of single vee butt and single bevel butt and knowing the comparison of the effects ofpost-weldd heat treatment on welded joints with variations of single v butt and single bevel butt joints. The method used in this research is experimental. The results of the data obtained in this study The value of the tensile strength of the Single Bevel Butt joint without the influence of Heat Treatment is 153.87 MPa, the tensile strength of the Single Vee Butt joint without the influence of Heat Treatment is 161.75 MPa and the tensile strength of the seam Single Bevel Butt with the effect of Heat Treatment is 196,65 MPa. The tensile strength of the Single Vee Butt seam with the effect of Heat Treatment is 173,36 MPa.

Abstract

Sandeq is an Indonesian traditional boat that is built instead of applying principal spiral design and technical calculation in its design and construction. Its construction relies on the inherited skills of the builders. This study aims to investigate the structural strength of the boat with numerical experiments by computer software that applying the finite element method (FEM). Longitudinal and transversal hull strength will be examined for four Sandeg models. The computational model of the boat hull has been designed and run with varieties of hull lengths using the software. The simulation results showed that the obtained longitudinal and transversal stresses were less than the allowable stress of the material based on the classification rules. In the transversal strength analysis, the ratio of working stress to material stress was 6,37%, 7,20%, and 5,98% on the sandeq A, B, and C respectively. As for longitudinal stress in hogging condition, the ratio was 2,77% 3,35%, 0,93%, and 0,72% on the sandeq A, B, C, and D respectively. for sagging condition, the ratio was 2,11%, 2,49%, 0,52%, and 0,69%.

Abstract

Perencanaan kelistrikan kapal harus dilakukan secara cermat dan akurat karena akan berpengaruh terhadap besar daya generator yang akan digunakan. Generator kapal dirancang untuk mampu mendistribusikan listrik untuk kebutuhan power (pompa), Penerangan (Lightning), Komunikasi dan Navigasi untuk berbagai kondisi pelayaran.  Sama halnya dengan kapal lainnya, TB Liberty  juga memerlukan distribusi tenaga dari generator untuk suplai kebutuhan listrik di atas kapal khususnya untuk penerangan kapal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui besaran daya listrik yang dibutuhkan untuk distribusi penerangan diatas kapal dengan menggunakan lampu Light-Emitting Diode (LED). Metode yang digunakan adalah metode zonal cavity dengan konsep dasar membagi setiap ruangan menjadi tiga bagian yaitu height ceiling cavity (hcc), height room cavity  (hrc), dan height floor cavity (hfc) serta penentuan nilai iluminasi sesuai dengan standar yang telah di tetapkan oleh American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa besar beban listrik untuk distribusi penerangan pada kapal TB Liberty dengan menggunakan lampu LED yaitu deck buttom plane sebesar 0.633 Kw, pada main deck sebesar 0.6625 Kw dan pada geladak navigasi didapatkan sebesar 0.238 Kw. Penelitian ini mampu menjadi rujukan dalam penentuan kelistrikan di atas kapal khususnya untuk instalasi penerangan kapal.

Abstract

Tourism ship with the Phinisi ship concept for the Selayar Islands tourist area are designed to increase the number of tourist attractions in the area. With beach tourism destinations and coral reefs, the Selayar region is very possible to become an alternative tourist destination in Indonesia besides Bunaken, Raja Ampat, Labuan Bajo, and the island of Bali. This ship is designed with wood materials and carries the theme of the traditional Phinisi ship which is the hallmark of ships made by the Bugis-Makassar tribe since 3000 years ago and has been recognized by UNESCO as one of the world's cultural heritage (Art of Boatbuilding in South Sulawesi). This study aims to obtain a tourist ship design that can be an attraction for tourists to vacation in the Selayar Islands. The method used in this study is the parent ship design approach method, this method is very commonly used in the ship design process, namely by using a comparison ship as a reference in the design of a new ship. The main ship dimensions obtained from this research are Loa = 26 m, B = 6.1 m, H = 2.48 m, T = 1.6 m, Vs (max) = 10 Knots, and Crew = 6 persons. The room on the ship is made like a classy hotel room and other services can pamper tourists.

Abstract

Balikpapan City has an area of 508.9 km2 which has 646,727 people living here. Balikpapan City is also known as a port city because it has two domestic ports namely Kampung Baru Port and Semayang Port. Currently, the port of Kampung Baru is still active in carrying out daily activities, namely the klotok boat crossing and also the dock for motor boats berths. The condition of mobility for crossing vessels in the port of Kampung Baru that uses boat klotok is inadequate due to the lack of supporting components for access to the ship so the safety of this port is questioned. besides that, klotok ships are also only able to carry a maximum of 21 passengers and 5 motorcycles and access to loading and unloading exits is very unsafe. The purpose of this study is to design a crossing ship that can be used safely for transportation for passengers and motorcycles that will pass the sea lane for crossing to the North Penajam Paser area. The ship is designed to have an easy access door or ramp door for passenger and motorcycle mobility to improve the safety of crossings at the port of Kampung Baru. The parent Design Approach method is used in this project, this method is one way of designing a ship using comparison or comparison, namely by taking a ship that is used as a reference for a comparison ship that has the same characteristics as designed ship. The main focus to be achieved in this research obtained a General Arrangement which has more cargo than the klotok ship with a capacity of 25 passengers and 10 motorcycles, and the dimension of the ramp door used in this final project is L 1.50 m and B 1.50 m. The Principal dimension of the ship obtained in this research is Loa = 12.50 m, Lpp = 11.50 m, Lwl = 11.96 m, B = 5.75 m, B1 = 1.64 m, H = 1.8 m, T = 0.85 m, Cb = 0.56, Vs = 15 Knots. The results of this study provide a good idea of the modernization of a comfortable ferry fleet for this area.

Abstract

Mayoritas kapal kapal nelayan di Indonesia khususnya yang berukuran 30 GT masih memiliki banyak kekurangan seperti kapasitas muatan yang sedikit, jarak tempuh pelayaran yang relatif pendek, desain kapal yang masih kurang ekonomis dan boros bahan bakar serta jumlah armada yang masih sangat sedikit dibandingkan dengan potensi perikanan yang melimpah di laut Indonesia khususnya wilayah pengelolaan perikanan Republik Indonesia (WPP-RI) 713 sehingga mendasari pentingnya dilakukan modernisasi kapal nelayan tradisional. Ukuran utama kapal diambil dari data satu kapal ikan yang terdaftar pada Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia. Desain kapal ini dilakukan dengan bantuan software Maxsurf Modeler dan AutoCAD student version. Adapun perencanaan mesin utama dilakukan dengan bantuan software Maxsurf Resistance dengan menggunakan metode perhitungan hambatan van Oortmerssen sehingga didapat kebutuhan daya mesin sebesar 99.733 HP setelah ditambah margin 15%. Kemudian dipilihlah mesin dengan Merk Yanmar dengan daya sebesar 110 HP. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan hasil desain lines plan dan general arrangement kapal ikan multipurpose 30 GT dengan alat tangkap purse seine dan squid jigging yang dilengkapi dengan mesin Yanmar bertenaga 110 HP.

Abstract

ABSTRAKDalam konsep kurikulum Merdeka Belajar, siswa belajar sesuai minat dan kemampuan, fokus pada menciptakan portofolio yang mencerminkan bakat individu, dan semuanya bertujuan untuk mencapai potensi optimal dengan cara yang menyenangkan. 30 siswa TK Harapan Bunda semester genap tahun ajaran 2022-2023 mendapatkan pendampingan rangkaian aktivitas pembelajaran meliputi pengenalan jenis-jenis tanaman, pengenalan teknik berkebun hidroponik, penanaman benih di instalasi hidroponik, pengamatan pertumbuhan tanaman hingga masa panen, dan memasak hasil panen menjadi masakan bergizi. Metode pengumpulan dan analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif yang berfokus pada implementasi kurikulum Merdeka Belajar. Informasi dikumpulkan melalui pengamatan, dokumentasi pembelajaran, dan wawancara dengan guru, kepala sekolah, serta wali murid untuk memahami pelaksanaan kegiatan belajar di sekolah tersebut. Kegiatan pengabdian ini tidak hanya memberikan pengalaman baru yang berharga bagi siswa, tetapi juga memperkaya pengalaman belajar mereka dengan melibatkan mereka dalam aktivitas yang praktis dan relevan. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga mengembangkan kreativitas siswa dan kemampuan adaptasi guru dalam menghadirkan nuansa segar dalam pembelajaran. Ini adalah langkah positif menuju pendidikan yang lebih interaktif dan berorientasi pada pemahaman konsep melalui pengalaman langsung. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan dan wawancara bersama guru, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan program pengabdian ini telah memberikan kontribusi yang berarti dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran untuk 30 siswa di TK Harapan Bunda Balikpapan semester genap tahun ajaran 2022-2023. Kata kunci: hidroponik; siswa; taman kanak-kanak; berkebun; Merdeka Belajar. ABSTRACTIn the Merdeka Belajar curriculum concept, students learn according to their interests and abilities, focus on creating a portfolio that reflects individual talents, and aim to achieve optimal potential in a fun way. 30 Harapan Bunda Kindergarten students for the even semester of the 2022-2023 academic year received assistance with a series of learning activities including introducing plant types, introducing hydroponic gardening techniques, planting seeds in hydroponic installations, observing plant growth until harvest time, cooking the produce. harvest into nutritious food. The data collection and analysis method used is descriptive qualitative, focusing on implementing the Merdeka Belajar curriculum. Information was collected through observations, learning documentation, and interviews with teachers, school principals, and student guardians to understand the implementation of learning activities at the school. This service activity not only provides valuable new experiences for students but also enriches their learning experience by involving them in practical and relevant activities. Apart from that, this activity also develops student creativity and the teacher's adaptability in bringing a fresh nuance to learning. This is a positive step towards education that is more interactive and oriented towards understanding concepts through hands-on experience. Based on the results of observations and interviews with teachers, it can be concluded that the implementation of this service program has made a significant contribution in improving the quality of learning for 30 students at Harapan Bunda Kindergarten Balikpapan even semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. Keywords: hydroponics; student; kindergarten; gardening; merdeka belajar.

Abstract

Pelabuhan Semayang adalah sebuah pelabuhan laut yang terletak di Kota Balikpapan, Kalimantan Timur. Pelabuhan ini dikelola oleh PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV. Pelabuhan ini berada pada Alur Laut Kepulauan Indonesia II di tepi Selat Makassar. Pelabuhan Semayang memiliki dermaga dengan panjang 4.89,5 meter dan lebar 21 meter. Dari sisi internal, Pelabuhan Semayang Balikpapan memiliki kendala dengan angka kunjungan kapal yang terus meningkat, peningkatan tersebut mengakibatkan kebutuhan akan fasilitas pelabuhan juga meningkat. Dengan terpilihnya wilayah Kalimantan Timur menjadi Ibu Kota Negara (IKN), jumlah penduduk kota tersebut dipastikan nantinya akan meningkat, di sekitar wilayah ibu kota akan tumbuh berbagai macam kegiatan ekonomi. Oleh sebab itu Strategi pengembangan pelabuhan dengan fungsi Pelabuhan Semayang dengan terpilihnya Kalimantan Timur menjadi Ibu Kota Negara (IKN) perlu dianalisis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa strategi pengembangan pelabuhan semayang terhadap nilai indikator kinerja fasilitas pelabuhan semayang sebagai penyangga Ibu Kota Negara.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan pendekatan sistematis dalam mengevaluasi keandalan sistem pelumasan pada kapal Sabuk Nusantara 43. Penilaian risiko dilakukan dengan menerapkan dua pendekatan, yaitu metode kuantitatif dan metode semi-kuantitatif. Pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan pendekatan nilai numerik dalam analisis, sementara pendekatan semi-kuantitatif menggabungkan elemen analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Metode ini digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi kejadian yang tidak hanya berpotensi mengganggu operasional perpipaan, tetapi juga dapat berdampak pada aspek keselamatan dan lingkungan. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa risiko terbesar terkait dengan instalasi pelumas pada kapal Sabuk Nusantara 43 terfokus pada komponen filter. Tingkat kerusakan komponen ini mencapai lima kali dalam satu tahun, dan berdasarkan analisis risk matrixplotting, risikonya masuk dalam kategori "major" (Tidak Diterima). Sebagai solusi pengendalian risiko yang direkomendasikan, dianjurkan pemilihan komponen saringan yang mematuhi standar yang berlaku, pelaksanaan perawatan berkala yang cermat, serta penghindaran penggunaan minyak pelumas yang sudah terlalu lama atau bekas. Dalam konteks ini, penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya evaluasi keandalan sistem pelumasan pada kapal Sabuk Nusantara 43 dengan memanfaatkan pendekatan metode kuantitatif dan semi-kuantitatif. Temuan utama menunjukkan bahwa risiko terbesar terkait dengan komponen filter, dan perbaikan serta perawatan yang teliti sangat diperlukan untuk meminimalkan risiko kerusakan. Sebagai rekomendasi pengendalian risiko, disarankan pemilihan komponen yang memenuhi standar yang berlaku, pelaksanaan perawatan berkala yang teliti, serta manajemen penggunaan minyak pelumas yang lebih efisien.
