This research uses a qualitative method, focusing on understanding social issues based on real-life conditions in a holistic, complex, and detailed manner. The purpose of qualitative research is to gather data and information that cannot be processed using statistical methods. In the planning phase, the teacher already used the Merdeka Curriculum modules. The learning activities also focus on student involvement in the learning process, with the teacher providing engaging activities to motivate and enhance student learning. The assessment conducted by the teacher is formative. The school’s facilities support the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, and the school fully supports teachers by offering guidance and training on the Merdeka Curriculum. Based on the research findings, it was concluded that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in the fourth-grade class at State Elementary School 40 North Pontianak has been successful, with modules and learning activities aligned with the curriculum's requirements.

Abstract

AbstractThe background to this research is based on the implementation of the independent curriculum in elementary schools which has been implemented for the last two years. This research aims to describe the components of audience, behavior, condition, degree (abcd), pjbl and pbl in the independent curriculum teaching module for grade 1 and 4 elementary school teachers in the city of Pontianak. This research is a type of research with a qualitative approach using descriptive methods. The research technique is documentation of teaching module texts created by elementary school teachers in Pontianak City. The results of this research are in the form of preparing learning objectives, although they still do not fully contain the elements of Audience, Behavior, Condition, Degree (ABCD), but have fulfilled the minimum elements, namely the existence of competency and scope of essential material so that it can be said that the learning objectives meet the provisions. When preparing teaching module documents, homeroom teachers for classes 1 and 4 do not always use project based learning and problem based learning models because they adapt to the characteristics of the material and the development of students, so teachers try to plan using other learning models. As a suggestion, each school can disseminate information in the form of components in the independent curriculum teaching modules and provide guidance on the appropriate way to prepare independent curriculum teaching modules.

Abstract

West Kalimantan is a province in Indonesia with the longest border with foreign countries. Therefore, education in these areas must be paid close attention to so that students can obtain optimal learning competency results and master basic literacy and character values as catalysts for understanding, awareness, and attitudes toward the pillars of national and state life. This study aims to determine the practicality of developing a multi-split model based on the hands-on-mind approach that can be used to reconstruct basic literacy and character values in the border areas of West Kalimantan and Malaysia during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used was research and development (R&D). The source of the data in this study was obtained from the results of field trials; thus, the practicality of developing a multi-split model based on the hands-on-mind approach observed by two teachers could be seen. The results of the practicality analysis showed that (1) the implementation of learning using a multi-split model based on a hands-on-mind approach reached an average score of 3.23 with good criteria, (2) student activities got an average score for each activity of at least 3.16 with good criteria and (3) the obstacles experienced by students were not familiar with the pattern of the learning process using this model; consequently several student activities could not run optimally.
