Abstract

Stunting remains a chronic nutritional problem that requires serious attention, including in the working area of Langgudu Public Health Center. Maternal health conditions during pregnancy, particularly knowledge of anemia and adherence to consuming iron-folic acid supplementation or blood supplement tablets, are suspected to be associated with the risk of giving birth to a stunted child. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between pregnant women’s knowledge of anemia and their level of adherence to consuming blood supplement tablets with the risk of giving birth to a stunted child in the working area of Langgudu Public Health Center. This study used a quantitative analytical observational method with a case-control design. The sample consisted of 186 respondents, including 93 mothers with stunted children as the case group and 93 mothers with children with normal growth status as the control group. Primary data were collected using questionnaires and observation sheets, while secondary data were obtained from the public health center’s nutritional status monitoring reports. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that pregnant women’s knowledge of anemia was not significantly associated with stunting incidence (p = 0.281). In contrast, adherence to consuming blood supplement tablets showed a significant association with stunting incidence (p = 0.003; OR = 0.404). Therefore, pregnant women’s adherence to consuming blood supplement tablets is an important factor related to the risk of giving birth to a stunted child. Accordingly, strengthening education, monitoring blood supplement tablet consumption, and providing nutritional counseling during pregnancy need to be improved.

Abstract

Phycocyanin research shows fluctuating trends and remains underexplored, particularly in its application for functional food and nutraceutical development, creating significant research gaps and opportunities for innovation such as NutrisMO This study aims to identify research trends and gaps in phycocyanin studies and to analyze factors influencing consumer intention to use NutrisMO, a nutraceutical product based on Spirulina and Moringa oleifera.A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted using the PRISMA approach with data sourced from Scopus (2005–2024), analyzed באמצעות VOSviewer and Leximancer. In addition, a quantitative explanatory study was conducted with 150 respondents selected through purposive sampling to review public acceptance of NUTRISMO products. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with Smart-PLS. The SLR results indicate that research on phycocyanin is still limited and fluctuative, with identified gaps in food-related applications (21%), product-related challenges (8%), and C-phycocyanin concepts (6%), highlighting opportunities for further research and innovation. Meanwhile, the Smart-PLS analysis shows that all constructs meet validity and reliability criteria. Perceived Bioactive Content (β = 0.400), Health Awareness (β = 0.438), and Trust in Herbal Products (β = 0.440) significantly influence Perceived Benefit, which in turn strongly affects Intention to Use (β = 0.775). The model demonstrates moderate to strong explanatory power, with R² values of 0.513 for Perceived Benefit and 0.600 for Intention to Use. This study confirms that perceived benefit plays a crucial mediating role in shaping consumer intention to use nutraceutical products. It also emphasizes the need for further research on phycocyanin and supports the development of functional nutraceutical innovations like NutrisMO by integrating scientific evidence, health awareness, and consumer trust.

Abstract

Underweight among children under five is a serious nutritional problem that adversely affects children's growth and development. Environmental sanitation and personal hygiene are considered important factors associated with the incidence of underweight. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between environmental sanitation and personal hygiene among children under five and the incidence of underweight in the working area of the Mpunda Community Health Center, Bima City. This study employed a quantitative cross-sectional design. Data were collected using questionnaires and direct field observations. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test for bivariate analysis and multiple logistic regression for multivariate analysis. The bivariate analysis showed a significant association between environmental sanitation and underweight (p < 0.001; PR = 9.44; 95% CI: 3.59–24.84), as well as between personal hygiene and underweight (p < 0.001; PR = 3.98; 95% CI: 2.05–7.72). The multivariate analysis indicated that environmental sanitation and personal hygiene were significantly associated with the incidence of underweight. Environmental sanitation was identified as the most dominant variable in the analytical model, while personal hygiene was also significantly associated with underweight. Therefore, improving environmental sanitation through the provision of safe drinking water, sanitary latrines, and strengthening parental education on clean and healthy living practices for children under five is essential for preventing underweight.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that can hinder children’s growth and development. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding, dietary diversity, and parenting practices and the prevalence of stunting among toddlers in the service area of the Penana’e Community Health Center. This study used a quantitative analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample size for this study was 78 toddlers selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected via questionnaires and anthropometric measurements, then analyzed using the Chi-Square test and Fisher’s Exact Test. The results showed that 38 toddlers (48.7%) were classified as stunted, while 40 toddlers (51.3%) were not stunted. The majority of respondents had a history of insufficient exclusive breastfeeding (57.7%), insufficient dietary diversity (53.8%), and parenting practices classified as good (94.9%). The results of the analysis show that exclusive breastfeeding is not significantly associated with the incidence of stunting, with a p-value of 0.672. Similarly, dietary diversity does not show a significant association with the incidence of stunting, with a p-value of 0.807, and parenting practices are also not significantly associated with the incidence of stunting, with a p-value of 0.352. Thus, it can be concluded that exclusive breastfeeding, dietary diversity, and parenting practices do not have a statistically significant association with the incidence of stunting in toddlers.
