Abstract

Dental and oral problems in Indonesian children are caused by low knowledge, comprehension, and behavior that ignores dental and oral health maintenance, resulting in tooth and mouth damage. This activity is in partnership with SD Yapita which is a school supported by the Faculty of Dentistry, Hang Tuah University. The aim is to prepare parents and teachers of Yapita Elementary School students to become ambassadors for oral and dental hygiene so that they can become mentors for their children or students. This method is carried out online and offline from classes 1 to 6 using a simple random sampling technique. The results were statistically analyzed using the Paired T-test. The average pre-test score from the teacher was 60 and the parents were 56, while the post-test result from the teacher was 84 and the parents was 85. The results of the data analysis were normally distributed (p>0.05) followed by the Paired correlation test T-test. The results show a relationship between the pre and post-test of teachers and parents. This shows that this educational activity can increase the knowledge of teachers and parents so that they can become ambassadors of oral and dental hygiene to their children or students.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of digital comic media in improving the reading literacy skills of fifth-grade elementary school students. The research was motivated by the low reading literacy skills of students caused by limited reading interest, less varied teaching methods, and the lack of innovative learning media. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest design involving 26 students. Data were collected through pretest and posttest reading literacy tests and analyzed using descriptive statistics and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the average score increased from 58.85 in the pretest to 79.42 in the posttest, with an N-Gain score of 0.56 categorized as moderate. These findings indicate that digital comic media is effective in improving students’ reading literacy skills. In addition, students showed better motivation, participation, and interest during the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comparative learning outcomes of students using Bamboozle and Wordwall educational media in elementary schools. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The subjects of the study were fourth-grade students of SD X consisting of two classes, namely class as the experimental group using Bamboozle media and class using Wordwall media, each totaling 30 students. Data collection techniques used tests (pretest and posttest) and observation. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics and independent sample t-tests. The results showed that there was an increase in learning outcomes in both classes. In the class using Bamboozle, the average score increased from 73.33 to 78.83, while in the class using Wordwall it increased from 71.33 to 76.17. However, based on the results of the t-test, a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.284> 0.05 was obtained, which means there was no significant difference between the learning outcomes of students using Bamboozle and Wordwall media.

Abstract

Reading Ability Is A Fundamental Skill For Elementary School Children, As It Is The Foundation For Academic Achievement At The Next Level. Students Often Show Poor Reading Skills, Which Negatively Impacts Their Text Comprehension Abilities. This Study Aims To Evaluate The Effectiveness Of The Let's Read Application Or Website In Improving The Reading Skills Of Second-Grade Elementary School Students At An-Nur Islamic Elementary School, Surabaya, And To Describe The Implementation Of Learning By Utilizing The Let's Read Website. Because The Effectiveness Of Let's Read In Improving Reading Skills, Especially In Second-Grade Elementary School An-Nur, Has Not Been Widely Studied Quantitatively. Therefore, This Study Aims To Analyze The Extent To Which The Use Of Let's Read Media Is Effective On Students' Reading Skills And Also Provide New Innovations For An-Nur Islamic Elementary School In Using The Let's Read Website To Improve Students' Reading Skills. This Study Applies A Quasi-Experimental Method With A One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. In This Design, The Study Only Involves One Experimental Group Without A Comparison Group Or Control Group. The Experimental Group Was First Given A Pretest To Determine Students' Reading Abilities Before Receiving Treatment. Next, They Used The Let's Read Website As A Learning Medium, Followed By A Final Assessment (Posttest) To Ensure Improvement In Reading Skills After The Treatment. The Implementation Of Learning Using The Let's Read Website Media Went Very Well And The Results Obtained Were That The Let's Read Website Media Was Effective In Improving The Reading Skills Of Second-Grade Students At Sdi An-Nur Surabaya.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of the digital-based EKEE learning model using Suno AI on improving elementary school students' creativity in Art and Culture subjects. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design. Data were collected via pretests and posttests measuring fluency and originality indicators, then analyzed using IBM SPSS 25. The findings demonstrate that integrating the EKEE model with AI technology optimally enhances student creativity compared to conventional methods. This digital approach effectively fosters active student engagement in exploring, creating, and expressing original ideas, serving as an innovative learning alternative in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difficulties faced by sixth-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 150 Gresik in solving mathematical word problems based on George Polya's problem-solving framework. This research dynamic employs a qualitative descriptive approach involving 19 students, with 6 key informants selected across high, medium, and low ability levels. Data collection techniques included diagnostic tests on algebraic word problems and in-depth interviews. The results revealed that students' difficulties in solving mathematical word problems stem from both cognitive and non-cognitive factors. Cognitively, students with low ability experienced comprehension, transformation, and process skill errors due to weak foundational numeracy, such as incorrect borrowing execution in subtraction and dependency on manual repetitive addition instead of vertical multiplication algorithms. Non-cognitively, time anxiety caused high-ability students to bypass formal documentation of "known" and "asked" components. Medium-ability students demonstrated good computational skills but were prone to careless errors due to rushed completion. Meanwhile, low-ability students exhibited a total lack of self-monitoring and a severe procedural dependency, copying peers' work without understanding the underlying mathematical logic.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low critical thinking ability of students as indicated by difficulties in analyzing story problems and drawing conclusions. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of science learning using Moodle-based Learning Management System media and test the effectiveness of the media on students' critical thinking abilities. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method of one group pretest–posttest design. The research subjects were fifth-grade students at Antawirya Islamic Javanese School Elementary School with a sample of 30 students from class V-B. Data collection techniques used observation of learning implementation and the administration of pretests and posttests, while data analysis techniques used percentage of implementation and N-Gain tests. The results showed that the average pretest score of students' critical thinking abilities was 44.17 which is classified as low and has not reached the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). After being given treatment, the average posttest score increased to 88.50 which is classified as high and exceeds the KKM. The results of the N-Gain analysis showed an average of 0.78 with a high category. Thus, the use of Moodle-based Learning Management System media has proven effective in improving students' critical thinking skills in the science subject.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low reading literacy skills of fifth-grade elementary school students, influenced by limited reading interest, inadequate literacy activities, and the dominance of conventional teaching methods. The study aimed to determine students' reading literacy skills before and after the implementation of a Moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS) and to examine its effect on the reading literacy skills of fifth-grade elementary school students. This research employed a quantitative approach using a Pre-Experimental One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 26 students of Class V-A of SDI Iskandar Said Surabaya, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a reading literacy test developed from the AKM and PISA indicators and analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Paired Sample t-Test. The results revealed that the implementation of the Moodle-based LMS had a significant positive effect on students' reading literacy. The mean score increased from 52.65 in the pretest (categorized as "Poor") to 67.46 in the posttest (categorized as "Fair"). The Paired Sample t-Test yielded t = -10.119 with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. These findings demonstrate that the use of a Moodle-based LMS, through interactive digital materials, quizzes, and discussion forums, enhances student engagement and contributes positively to the improvement of fifth-grade students' reading literacy.
