Abstract

Beragam model, pendekatan, dan strategi pembelajaran yang diterapkan oleh pendidik diterima dengan baik oleh peserta didik. Namun, dalam menilai kemampuan peserta didik, pendidik masih menggunakan tes biasa, belum pernah menggunakan tes berpikir kritis. Pendidik merasakan perlunya pengembangan instrumen tes yang diharapkan dapat lebih efektif dalam mengukur kemampuan peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas perbutir soal ditinjau dari kevalidan, tingkat kesukaran dan daya pembeda soal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Impelementation, dan Evaluation). Hasil penelitian disimpulkan Hasil validasi isi oleh ahli menunjukkan skor content validity sempurna sebesar 1 (kategori valid), sementara uji coba empiris terhadap 10 butir soal uraian menghasilkan 9 soal valid dan layak dipakai (nomor 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, dan 10) karena memiliki tingkat kesukaran yang seimbang (sedang hingga mudah) serta daya pembeda yang memadai (cukup hingga baik). Adapun 1 butir soal dinyatakan tidak valid (nomor 3) akibat nilai korelasi dan daya pembeda yang buruk, sehingga memerlukan revisi total atau penggantian sebelum dapat dimanfaatkan secara optimal.

Abstract

This study is a descriptive-correlational study. The objectives of this study are to determine: 1) the level of critical thinking skills among eighth-grade students at public junior high schools throughout the Panakkukang subdistrict; 2) the level of problem-solving skills among eighth-grade students at public junior high schools throughout the Panakkukang subdistrict; 3) whether there is a relationship between critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills among eighth-grade students at public junior high schools in the Panakkukang subdistrict. The population for this study consists of all eighth-grade students at public junior high schools in the Panakkukang subdistrict for the 2025/2026 school year, totaling 587 students. Sampling was conducted using simple random sampling, with a sample size of 168 students. The research instruments consisted of a critical thinking test comprising 15 questions and a problem-solving test comprising 15 questions. Data were collected by administering the tests in person. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. Based on the analysis results, it can be concluded that: 1) The level of critical thinking skills among eighth-grade students at public junior high schools in the Panakkukang subdistrict falls into the very low category, with a score of 49.96. 2) The problem-solving skills of eighth-grade students at public junior high schools in the Panakkukang subdistrict fall into the very low category, with a score of 46.43. 3) The critical thinking and problem-solving skills of eighth-grade students at public junior high schools throughout the Panakkukang subdistrict, with a correlation coefficient of 0.732, indicating a strong correlation.
