Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Show and Tell learning method on students’ speaking skills in the Indonesian language subject for fifth-grade students at SDN 06728 Sunggal. The background of the study stems from students’ low speaking skills, as indicated by a lack of confidence in expressing opinions and difficulty in orally conveying the content of texts. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a non-equivalent control group design. The population consists of all fifth-grade students at SDN 06728 Sunggal, with two sample classes: class VA as the experimental group and class VB as the control group. The instruments used were observation sheets and oral tests to measure speaking skills. Data analysis techniques included normality test, homogeneity test, and t-test (hypothesis testing). The results showed a significant difference in speaking skills between students taught using the Show and Tell method and those who were not. This is evidenced by the t-test result where the t-count value is greater than the t-table at a significance level of 0.05. Furthermore, the average improvement in speaking skills after applying the Show and Tell method reached approximately 31.95%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Show and Tell method has a significant effect on improving speaking skills in fifth-grade students for the Indonesian language subject. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran Show and Tell terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia kelas V SDN 06728 Sunggal. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari rendahnya keterampilan berbicara siswa, yang ditandai dengan kurangnya keberanian dalam mengungkapkan pendapat serta rendahnya kemampuan menyampaikan kembali isi teks secara lisan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu (quasi experiment), desain penelitian non-equivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SDN 06728 Sunggal, dengan sampel sebanyak dua kelas yaitu kelas VA sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VB sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar observasi dan tes lisan untuk mengukur keterampilan berbicara. Teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan uji-t (uji hipotesis). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara keterampilan berbicara siswa yang diajar menggunakan metode Show and Tell dengan yang tidak. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil uji-t yang menunjukkan nilai thitung lebih besar dari ttabel dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Selain itu, peningkatan rata-rata keterampilan berbicara siswa setelah penerapan metode Show and Tell mencapai ±31,95%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode Show and Tell berpengaruh secara signifikan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas V pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peranan potensi intrapersonal melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) bermuatan karakter dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri mahasiswa. Penelitian melibatkan 40 orang mahasiswa sebagai responden, dan data diperoleh melalui tiga instrumen utama, yaitu angket potensi intrapersonal, angket kepercayaan diri, dan lembar observasi penerapan model PBL bermuatan karakter. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Prosedur Penelitian ini meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan penyelesaian. Pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui pemberian pretest, perlakuan pada kelompok eksperimen, dan posttest pada kelompok eksperimen serta kontrol. Data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji statistika. Hasil penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian pada 40 mahasiswa PGSD semester IV menunjukkan potensi intrapersonal berada pada kategori tinggi dengan rata-rata 4,07, kepercayaan diri mahasiswa juga tinggi dengan rata-rata 4,03, serta penerapan model PBL bermuatan karakter terlaksana dengan baik dengan rata-rata 4,04. Terdapat hubungan positif antara potensi intrapersonal, penerapan PBL, dan peningkatan kepercayaan diri mahasiswa, sehingga model ini layak dijadikan alternatif strategis dalam pengembangan karakter dan kompetensi pribadi mahasiswa.

Abstract

Edukasi bullying dan pengenalan hukum untuk membentuk peserta didik untuk memiliki integritas moral, etika, dan kepribadian yang baik. Di tengah tantangan degradasi moral, penyimpangan perilaku, dan krisis identitas yang semakin marak pada anak usia sekolah dasar, melalui pengenalan dasar hukum sebagai sarana strategis untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter secara kontekstual dan aplikatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran edukasi bullying dan mengenal hukum dalam membentuk karakter siswa sekolah dasar tanpa kekerasan, mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai karakter yang dikembangkan,serta mengevaluasi faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam implementasinya.Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi langsung terhadap kegiatan presentasi edukasi, wawancara mendalam dengan guru pembina, kepala sekolah, siswa, dan orang tua, serta studi dokumentasi terhadap perencanaan dan laporan kegiatan sekolah. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV hingga VI dari lima sekolah dasar di desa dewi sri. Analisis data dilakukan secara induktif dengan cara reduksi data, kategorisasi tematik, dan penarikan kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa edukasi anti bullying secara signifikan mampu mengembangkan nilai-nilai karakter seperti kedisiplinan, kerja sama, kejujuran, kepedulian sosial, dan semangat kebangsaan.

Abstract

Urgensi dalam pembelajaran inovatif adalah pembelajaran yang langsung memecahkan masalah yang sedang dihadapi oleh kelas, berdasarkan kondisi kelas yang menjadi permasalahan tertentu dalam suatu pembelajaran. Pembelajaran inovatif merupakan pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada strategi, metode atau upaya menigkatkan semua kemampuan positif dalam proses pengembangan potensi atau kemampuan berpikir kritis serta mengaktifkan partisipasi peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas. Untuk itu pentingnya pembelajaran inovatif dan kreatif dikembangkan dengan tujuan dapat meningkatkan kualitas peserta didik dalam pembelajaran sehingga membuat pembelajaran lebih menyenangkan juga tidak membebani peserta didik. Tujuan pembelajaran inovatif ini dapat menggunakan model pembelajaran projek based learning. Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek (Project Based Learning) adalah model pembelajaran yang menggunakan proyek atau kegiatan sebagai media. Menurut Kemdikbud (2013), peserta didik melakukan eksplorasi, penilaian, interpretasi, sintesis, dan informasi untuk menghasilkan berbagai bentuk hasil belajar. Model pembelajaran ini akan dikolaborasikan dengan metode demonstrasi yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik ddalam mengemukakan pendapat/argumennya di depan kelas serta dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan diri peserta didik untuk tampil di depan temannya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang akan dijabakan satu persatu sesuai dengan model dan metode pembelajaran yang digunakan. Luaran yang ditargetkan dalam penelitian ini sebagai masukan dan evaluasi kepada guru khususnya pada mata kuliah bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a big book learning media based on local folklore with the help of the Canva application, and to evaluate student responses and its feasibility. This big book is based on local legends, uses Indonesian, and presents relevant images to attract students' interest in learning. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, but only three stages are applied: Analysis, Design, and Development. At the analysis stage, pre-research was conducted at the UPTD SPF SDN Cibubukan, where interviews with grade I teachers revealed that learning Indonesian was less interesting for students. At the design stage, the researcher designed a big book using Canva, and at the development stage, the big book media was validated by material experts, media experts, and teachers. The validation results showed a feasibility score of 95% from material experts, 94% from media experts, and 95% from teachers, all of whom concluded that this media was very suitable for use in learning. The big book media developed can be applied as an initial step in the teaching and learning process, indicating that this folklore-based big book is very suitable for use in learning Indonesian.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah |untuk mengetahui media literasi big book untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca siswa kelas II Sekolah Dasar dan juga untuk mengetahui hasil siswa terhadap pengembangan media literasi big book berbasis budaya melayu tema  pengalamanku siswa kelas II Sekolah Dasar. Subjek penelitian ini adalah ahli desain media, ahli materi, ahli pembelajaran (guru) dan siswa kelas II Sekolah Dasar 101873 Desa Baru. Objek penelitian ini adalah media literasi big book pembelajaran Tematik yang diciptakan untuk membantu guru dalam pembelajaran kelas II Sekolah Dasar 101873 Desa Baru. Hasil penelitian ini adalah Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan bahwa berdasarkan hasil perhitungan di atas maka hasil penilaian dari ahli materi keseluruhan mencapai 87%. Jika persentase yang diperoleh mencapai 61% sampai 90% maka materi yang dicantumkan di dalam media pembelajaran berbantuan Canva  dikategorikan layak. Dari perhitungan di atas diperoleh persentase 87% maka materi tersebut yang di dalam media pembelajaran berbantuan Canva dikategorikan layak. Sehingga materi yang sudah di validasi layak untuk di cantumkan di media pembelajaran digital. Dalam hal ini peneliti tidak perlu melakukan revisi. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan di atas maka hasil penilaian dari ahli media keseluruhan mencapai 87%. Jika persentase yang diperoleh mencapai 61% sampai 90% maka media pembelajaran berbantuan Canva dikategorikan layak. Dari perhitungan di atas diperoleh persentase 87% maka media pembelajaran berbantuan Canva dikategorikan layak untuk digunakan. Berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli media, media pembelajaran berbantuan Canva layak untuk dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran tema 5 Pengalamanku dengan persentase 87% hal ini berarti media pembelajaran termasuk dalam kategori layak.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze student responses, validity and effectiveness of the development of interactive learning media in the form of animated videos assisted by Filmora application in learning fractions of grade V elementary school students. This research uses the learning device development model suggested by S.Thiagarajan, namely the 4d model (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate). The instruments used in this research are validation questionnaire, needs and test sheets. From the results of student responses, it is known that students really like and are interested in interactive learning media in the form of animated videos aided by the Filmora application that researchers develop, it can be seen from the student response which shows an average of 83.5% with the criteria "very good. Furthermore, the validity and effectiveness of the product were carried out, involving learning practitioners, material experts, interactive media and students to conduct pretests and posttests. The result of the validity is that the media is very valid with a validity percentage of 87.6% and a category of "very valid" and only requires minor revisions. Finally, the effectiveness test was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the product developed by conducting pretests and postests, and the result was that interactive learning media in the form of animated videos assisted by the Filmora application in learning fractions of grade V elementary school students were effective in improving student learning outcomes, it was seen from the increase in student scores before and after using interactive learning media.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the marginalization of regional languages, largely driven by the influence of social media, education, and entertainment, factors that have become major contributors to language shift. Medan, as a multicultural metropolitan city, faces similar challenges. The aim of this research is to prevent further shifts in regional language, literature, and script, which could significantly impact cultural preservation, as language is closely intertwined with culture. A qualitative approach was employed, utilizing interviews and observations with several families in Medan. The findings reveal that the family holds a strategic position as the primary and most influential agent in the transmission of regional languages. The role of families in preserving regional languages among children in the modern era is crucial. By actively using the regional language, introducing local wisdom, and instilling cultural values, families can maintain children’s cultural identity and help preserve regional cultural heritage. The study in Medan shows that families or parents who actively use regional languages in daily communication and instill local cultural values make a significant contribution to the language’s continued existence. Conversely, when children are not exposed to their regional language and culture in everyday life, the language faces the risk of extinction. This research highlights the importance of family awareness and commitment to continuously use and teach regional languages as part of a cultural legacy that must be preserved and passed on to future generations.

Abstract

Students’ difficulties in understanding the use of punctuation in Indonesian language learning remain an obstacle that hinders the development of their effective writing skills. This study aimed to determine the effect of the drill method on the ability to use punctuation in Indonesian language learning among Grade V students at Alwashliyah Indrapura Private Elementary School. The research instrument consisted of 33 multiple-choice items, which were validated through a trial with 25 students from another school, resulting in 25 valid items with a reliability coefficient of 0.733, indicating a reliable category. The study employed a pretest–posttest design involving 25 students as the sample. Baseline data were obtained through a pretest, after which the drill method was implemented over several sessions to repeatedly practice the use of various punctuation marks. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ punctuation abilities, with the mean pretest score of 57.68 increasing to 75.76 in the posttest. The Shapiro–Wilk normality test indicated that the data were normally distributed, while the paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of < 0.001, indicating that the drill method had a significant effect on improving students’ abilities. Indicator-level analysis demonstrated improvement across all types of punctuation tested, thereby confirming that the drill method is effective in enhancing the accuracy and skill in punctuation use. These findings affirm that the drill method can serve as an alternative instructional strategy in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level to optimize students’ mastery of punctuation.

Abstract

Students’ low ability to appreciate children’s stories, particularly in understanding intrinsic elements such as characters, plot, setting, and moral message, as well as their low creativity in expressing story comprehension, constitutes an important problem in Indonesian language learning in elementary schools. This condition is influenced by learning that remains teacher-centered and the lack of use of engaging media. This study aims to improve creativity and the ability to appreciate children’s stories through the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by digital comic media among Grade V students at SD Negeri 091641 Bandar Tinggi. This study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, which was implemented in two cycles, with each cycle including the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 27 students. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation using instruments in the form of observation sheets and assessment rubrics for creativity and understanding of the intrinsic elements of stories. The results showed a significant improvement from the pre-cycle to Cycle II. In the pre-cycle, students in the high creativity category reached only 33.33%, whereas those in the low category reached 37.03%. In Cycle I, the high creativity category increased to 68.18%, and in Cycle II it reached 81.48%, with no students in the low category. The ability to understand the intrinsic elements of stories also improved, as reflected in students’ ability to identify characters, understand the plot sequentially, recognize the setting completely, and find the moral message in their own words. The use of digital comics as a learning stimulus helped students understand stories in a visual, engaging, and meaningful way. The conclusion of this study affirms that the implementation of PjBL assisted by digital comics can improve creativity and the ability to appreciate children’s stories. The implications of this study indicate that project-based learning with digital comic media provides space for students to be actively involved, think creatively, collaborate, and express ideas and imagination through real works in the form of scrapbooks and dioramas.
