Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the impact of using the mind mapping method on enhancing students' understanding of fictional text material in fifth-grade Indonesian language classes. Conducted at SDN Ganting Sidoarjo, Indonesia, the research involved 28 students, 16 male and 12 female, and utilized a quantitative pre-experimental design. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 26, employing a one-group pretest-post-test design. The results indicate a significant increase in students' comprehension, with a pretest average score of 45.53 and a post-test average score of 72.50, yielding a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05. This highlights the effectiveness of mind mapping in improving students' understanding of fictional text material, suggesting its potential as a valuable teaching tool in language learning. The findings offer insights for educators aiming to enhance comprehension in language classes and suggest further research avenues to optimize mind mapping techniques. Abstrak: Penelitian ini menguji dampak penggunaan metode pemetaan pikiran dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi teks fiksi di kelas 5 SD. Penelitian yang dilakukan di SDN Ganting Sidoarjo ini melibatkan 28 siswa, 16 laki-laki dan 12 perempuan, dan menggunakan desain pra-eksperimen kuantitatif. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan SPSS 26, dengan menggunakan desain pretest-post-test satu kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada pemahaman siswa, dengan skor rata-rata pretest 45,53 dan skor rata-rata post-test 72,50, dengan nilai signifikan 0,000 < 0,05. Hal ini menyoroti efektivitas pemetaan pikiran dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi teks fiksi, yang menunjukkan potensinya sebagai alat pengajaran yang berharga dalam pembelajaran bahasa. Temuan ini menawarkan wawasan bagi para pendidik yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman di kelas bahasa dan menyarankan jalan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk mengoptimalkan teknik pemetaan pikiran.

Abstract

Primary school teachers' understanding of literacy learning is often limited to reading and writing skills, whereas 21st century literacy skills include comprehension, analysis of information, and expression of emotions and thoughts. This study developed a model of Qur'an-based Differentiated Literacy Learning using the ADDIE development method, which involved observations, interviews and questionnaires. The model goes through five stages: analyzing learners' needs and characteristics, designing Qur'an-integrated learning, developing strategies and materials, implementing in trials, and evaluating learning outcomes and socio-emotional intelligence. The results showed that the model not only significantly improved students' literacy, but also strengthened their social-emotional intelligence, as seen from increased participation and positive interactions inside and outside the classroom. The model was rated as highly feasible and practical by experts. The results of this study make an important contribution to literacy learning that is holistic and based on the moral and spiritual values of the Qur'an.

Abstract

Abstract: This study investigates the impact of using picture and picture models based on rotary wheel media on expository composing skills among fifth-grade students at SDN Gedangan. Employing a pre-experimental quantitative research design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach, data were collected from 25 students through documentation and tests. Results indicate a significant improvement in students' expository writing skills post-intervention, with 72% of students achieving completeness compared to 48% in pretest. The average posttest score increased from 70.6 to 81.36. The findings suggest that incorporating picture and picture models can effectively enhance expository writing skills, with implications for primary education curriculum development and teaching practices. Abstrak: Penelitian ini menyelidiki dampak penggunaan model picture and picture berbasis media roda putar terhadap kemampuan menulis ekspositoris siswa kelas V SDN Gedangan. Menggunakan desain penelitian kuantitatif pra-eksperimental dengan pendekatan pretest-posttest satu kelompok, data dikumpulkan dari 25 siswa melalui dokumentasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam keterampilan menulis ekspositoris siswa setelah intervensi, dengan 72% siswa mencapai ketuntasan dibandingkan dengan 48% pada pretest. Nilai rata-rata posttest meningkat dari 70,6 menjadi 81,36. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa menggabungkan model picture and picture dapat secara efektif meningkatkan kemampuan menulis ekspositori, dengan implikasi untuk pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan dasar dan praktik pengajaran.

Abstract

Memahami kemampuan pemahaman membaca siswa dengan ketidakmampuan belajar sangat penting untuk strategi pengajaran yang efektif. Penelitian ini menyelidiki tingkat pemahaman membaca siswa kelas tiga dengan ketidakmampuan belajar di SDN Geluran 2, dengan fokus pada pemahaman faktual, mengidentifikasi ide-ide utama, menarik kesimpulan, memahami pesan teks, dan mengekspresikan pendapat. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun siswa dapat memahami informasi faktual dan ide-ide utama, mereka kesulitan dalam menarik kesimpulan, memahami pesan teks, dan mengekspresikan pendapat, terutama karena keterbatasan kosakata dan kesulitan konsentrasi. Pendidik dapat menggunakan temuan ini untuk mengembangkan metode pengajaran yang ditargetkan, seperti memperluas kosakata dan mengatasi masalah konsentrasi, untuk meningkatkan pemahaman membaca di antara siswa dengan ketidakmampuan belajar. Penelitian lebih lanjut disarankan untuk memperdalam pemahaman tentang pemahaman membaca pada kelompok ini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menguji efektivitas penggunaan media flashcard untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman pada siswa kelas IV SD dengan down syndrome. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain Single Subject Research (SSR), penelitian ini dilakukan di SDI Al-Chusnaini. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, lembar checklist, dan dokumentasi, dengan teknik analisis berbasis kondisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan membaca selama sesi intervensi, diikuti dengan penurunan setelah penilaian ulang baseline. Namun, secara keseluruhan, penggunaan media flashcard menunjukkan dampak yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan membaca pada siswa dengan down syndrome. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya intervensi pendidikan yang disesuaikan dan memberikan wawasan bagi para pendidik untuk meningkatkan pengalaman belajar siswa dengan down syndrome melalui metode alternatif seperti media flashcard.

Abstract

Penelitian kualitatif ini mengeksplorasi kemampuan membaca awal siswa dengan disleksia, yang bertujuan untuk mengatasi kesenjangan dalam memahami tantangan membaca awal mereka. Dilakukan di SD Muhammadiyah 1 Candi, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun siswa dengan disleksia dapat menyusun kalimat, mereka kesulitan dalam membaca dan membedakan huruf-huruf yang mirip. Penelitian ini menyoroti perlunya intervensi yang disesuaikan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca dan retensi memori pada siswa-siswa ini, menekankan pentingnya identifikasi dini dan metode pengajaran khusus untuk meningkatkan hasil akademis dan kesejahteraan secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

This study addresses the issue of low learning outcomes and student disengagement in fourth-grade social studies, where traditional teaching methods fail to capture student interest, resulting in passive participation. The aim was to assess the impact of video learning media on students' cognitive learning outcomes. Employing a quantitative experimental approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design and saturated sampling, data were collected via pretests and posttests. Findings indicated a significant improvement in cognitive learning outcomes post-intervention with video media. The study concludes that video-based learning media, incorporating local wisdom, effectively enhances cognitive learning outcomes in fourth-grade social studies students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop gender-responsive literacy modules to improve the competencies of students in the Primary School Teacher Education Program (PGSD) at Muhammadiyah University Sidoarjo. The problem identified is the low literacy skills of students, which are influenced by the lack of learning modules that integrate principles of gender equity and sensitivity. Additionally, gender-based literacy achievement gaps due to social stereotypes pose a significant challenge in the learning process. The research method employed is Design-Based Research (DBR) with an iterative and collaborative approach between researchers and education practitioners. Data collection was conducted through pretest-posttest assessments, attitude and perception questionnaires, observations, and interviews to evaluate the effectiveness and validity of the modules during the implementation process. Quantitative data analysis used descriptive statistics, while qualitative data was analyzed thematically. The results of the study indicate that the gender-responsive literacy module developed is able to meet academic standards and the learning needs of students in an inclusive manner. The level of acceptance of the module in terms of usage, content, and response achieved scores between 86% and 97%, which is considered very good. The module also successfully instilled critical awareness of gender issues in literacy learning and supported the development of adaptive and equitable literacy skills for all PGSD students. This study recommends expanding the scope of the module and providing ongoing training for teachers so that gender-responsive principles can be optimally applied in basic education.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the digital literacy of teachers at SDN Kandangan, a case study of grade V teachers. The object of this research is grade V teachers at SDN Kandangan. Qualitative research uses the case study method with research objectives directed at collecting data, extracting meaning and gaining understanding from the cases studied. Namely by collecting data by interviewing the teacher concerned based on the instrument created by the researcher and observing the grade V teacher at SD Negeri Kandangan. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive narrative. This technique uses the Miles and Huberman model which includes stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. Highlights: Research focuses on grade V teachers at SDN Kandangan. Data collection through interviews and observations. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan membaca permulaan dengan gangguan disleksia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian bersifat studi kasus pada siswa kelas IV dengan gangguan disleksia di SDN Petungasri 1. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara, observasi, dan tes terkait kemampuan membaca permulaan. Teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan yakni pengumpulan data, reduksi data, display data dan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa siswa disleksia memiliki kesulitan dalam mengidentifikasi kata sukar maupun kata dasar, memaknai kata, memahami isi bacaan, dan kesulitan dalam menjawab pertanyaan. Ketidakmampuan menguasai isi bacaan pada siswa dengan gangguan disleksia dikarenakan minat dan perhatian serta gangguan syaraf pusat yang menyebabkan rendahnya kemampuan membaca yang berdampak pada penugasan atau pemahaman kata dalam bacaan. Sehingga pendidik memiliki peran penting untuk mengembangkan kemampuan membaca permulaan.
