Abstract

Aplication of pumpkin skin flour Curcubitae sp. to improve of the water quality performance and support shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei growth, it necessary to do an analysis. Pumpkin skin Curcubitae sp. as a source of stimulants needed by bacteria to survive in the nitrification denitrification processes in aquaculture as an alternative to environmental friendly with bioremediation system evaluation. Its mesophilic nature and a organic ions source for bacterial growth. Pumpkin skin can support the growth and activity of nitrifying denitrifying bacteria in the environment. This study aims to determine the best of dose of pumpkin skin as a biostimulator of nitrifying denitrifying bacteria growth. The treatments used were pumpkin doses of 0%, 2%, 4%, 6% for 20 L culture water. Giving pumpkin flour can improve the performance of abundance and activity of nitrification denitrification bacteria. The activity of nitrifying bacteria can be seen from the presence of ammonia value which is relatively more stable compared to other treatments. The best oxidation of ammonia in 6%, and reduction nitrite in the 4% treatments. The treatment of 4% was effective in maintenance for 30 days which could maintain the stability of water quality and increase the growth of vaname shrimp.

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki potensi yang tinggi untuk pengembangan usaha budidaya perikanan khususnya ikan hias air tawar, karena posisi geografis Indonesia yang berada di wilayah tropis, sehingga sangat cocok dalam budidaya berbagai jenis ikan hias. Sebagian dari jenis ikan hias merupakan ikan yang bisa hidup pada iklim tropis yang memungkinkan dapat bereproduksi sepanjang tahun. Ekspor ikan hias Indonesia ke mancanegara mencapai puluhan juta ekor setiap bulannya, kemudian pencapaian produksi ikan hias pada tahun 2018 sebesar 1.869.533 ribu ekor sedangkan pada tahun 2015 mencapai 1.314.798,5 ribu ekor. Data tersebut menunjukkan bahwa dalam produksi ikan hias mengalami peningkatan 13,7% setiap tahunnya. Pandemi COVID-19 yang terjadi saat ini telah menekan berbagai sektor usaha, namun disisi lain juga membuka berbagai peluang usaha baru bagi sebagian orang. Bisnis budidaya ikan hias termasuk salah satu peluang usaha baru yang banyak dilirik oleh masyarakat karena menjanjikan keuntungan yang besar apabila ditekuni. Salah satu jenis ikan hias yang banyak diminati pasar domestik maupun internasional adalah ikan botia india Botia lohachata. Ikan ini merupakan jenis ikan yang banyak dikembangbiakkan di negara-negara yang memiliki iklim tropis termasuk Indonesia. Studi ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji secara teknis aspek manajerial budidaya ikan botia india pada segmentasi pembenihan dan pendederan di Bogorian Aquatics Farm, agar informasi yang diperoleh dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat pembudidaya untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan dalam pengelolaan budidaya ikan hias secara berkelanjutan, khususnya ikan botia india.

Abstract

Pond bottom sediment conditions influence shrimp culture. As benthic organisms, shrimp are mainly on the surface of the pond bottom, so cultivation preparations related to improving sediment quality are essential. Pond bottom practice, such as drying, liming, and fertilizing, is common. However, in bottom pond conditions where total drying cannot be carried out, other treatments are needed, such as the addition of hydrogen peroxide. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding hydrogen peroxide in pond sediments on the performance of shrimp growth and water quality. The study was conducted with five doses of hydrogen peroxide (0.25 mL, 0.5 mL, 1 mL, 2 mL) mixed with 350 g of pond soil sediment. Ten shrimps with an average weight of 0,27±0,03 g were put into the rearing container, which had been given pond bottom sediment according to the treatment. The results showed that the 2 mL hydrogen peroxide treatment gave the best results on the growth rate and average weight of Pacific whiteleg shrimp at the end of rearing. Water quality such as pH value, dissolved oxygen, and temperature were not significantly different between treatments. Hydrogen peroxide treatment can improve shrimp growth performance without affecting water quality during rearing.

Abstract

Tilapia requires the right amount of feed to produce optimal growth. This study aims to evaluate the growth performance of tilapia fed with different feeding rates. The research was conducted at the Fisheries Production Laboratory, IPB Vocational School. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) using four treatments, each with three replications. The research treatments consisted of (FR2) 2% FR feeding, (FR3) 3% FR feeding, (FR4) 4% FR feeding, and (FR5) 5% FR feeding. The research parameters measured during the study were the growth performance of Tilapia and the rearing water quality of medium. The data obtained were processed using SPSS 22.0 with one-way ANOVA and Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the FR4 (4%) and FR5 (5%) treatments produced higher growth performance than the other treatments (P<0.05), while the water quality parameters were the same between treatments (P<0.05). In conclusion, the results of measuring growth parameters namely WT, SGR, EP, and FCR showed that the best treatment in this study was the FR4 treatment. ABSTRAK Ikan nila membutuhkan jumlah pakan yang sesuai untuk menghasilkan pertumbuhan yang optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja pertumbuhan ikan nila yang diberi pakan dengan feeding rate berbeda. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Produksi Perikanan, Sekolah Vokasi IPB. Rancangan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) menggunakan empat perlakuan, masing-masing tiga ulangan. Perlakuan penelitian terdiri dari perlakuan (FR2) pemberian pakan FR 2%, (FR3) pemberian pakan FR 3%, (FR4) pemberian pakan 4%, dan (FR5) pemberian pakan FR 5%. Parameter penelitian yang diukur selama penelitian yaitu kinerja pertumbuhan ikan nila dan kualitas air media pemeliharaan. Data yang diperoleh diolah menggunakan SPSS 22.0 dengan one-way ANOVA dan uji lanjut Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan FR4 (4%) dan FR5 (5%) menghasilkan kinerja pertumbuhan lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya (P<0,05), sedangkan parameter kualitas air antar perlakuan sama (P<0,05). Kesimpulan, Hasil pengukuran parameter pertumbuhan yaitu WT, SGR, EP dan FCR menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan terbaik pada penelitian ini adalah perlakuan FR4.

Highlight Research Cinnamaldehyde for shrimp Dynamics of Vibrio and the correlation with shrimp health status Green and yellow Vibrio bacteria in water, intestine, and hepatopancreas of shrimp Cinnamaldehyde decrease the number of green Vibrio bacteria   Abstract Disease can cause shrimp mortality and high economic losses caused by Vibriosis group. One alternative is using cinnamaldehyde which function as an anti-microbial and inhibit the production of toxins released by microorganisms. This study aimed to evaluate the administration of cinnamaldehyde on the dynamics of Vibrio bacteria and the health status of Pacific white shrimp fed with cinnamaldehyde-containing feed. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisted of 4 treatments and 3 replications consisting of treatment K, A, B, and C which mean feeding without cinnamaldehyde, feeding containing cinnamaldehyde dose of 0.05%, 0.1%, and 0.2% respectively. Parameters included total bacteria (green and yellow Vibrio) in water, intestine, and hepatopancreas, as well as immune responses parameters, including total hemocyte count (THC), respiratory burst (RB), and phenol-oxidase (PO). All data were tabulated in Microsoft Excel 2016 and all statistical analysis was conducted in the SPSS v.22.0 software with one-way ANOVA followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT (P=0.05). The results showed that the administration of cinnamaldehyde influences the dynamics of Vibrio and health status of shrimp. At the beginning and at the end of cinnamaldehyde administration, green and yellow Vibrio bacteria are mostly found in water, intestine, and hepatopancreas. The administration of cinnamaldehyde to Pacific white shrimp can reduce the number of green Vibrio bacteria both in the intestine and hepatopancreas as shown in treatments C and B. Cinnamaldehyde also affected the higher percentage of yellow Vibrio bacteria in treatments C and B compared to control (K). The highest immune responses of THC and RB were produced in treatments A and C compared to K. The decrease of green Vibrio bacteria and increased colonization of yellow Vibrio bacteria were correlated with immune responses. The best treatment in this study is treatment C.

Abstract

The research was conducted to determine the relationship between water quality and body length of arowana fish by measuring several water parameters including temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen and ammonia. In relation to length growth, calculations on SR, SGR are also carried out using ANNOVA. Direct laboratory scale observations were carried out by providing different feeds, including bloodworms, maggot, crickets and live fish with the water source for cultivation activities being well water. The results of observations in the field show that the growth rate of fish in length is influenced by the type of feed given. Giving bloodworms has the most effective value, next to live fish, maggots and crickets. This type of feed also affects the quality of the water used. To maintain success in ornamental fish cultivation, it is recommended to use water efficiently through integrated fish cultivation. Checking the water regularly as well as training of farmers on good management practices and integration is needed to ensure good water quality.

Abstract

Ikan koi Cyprinus rubrofuscus merupakan spesies ikan hias air tawar yang telah dibudidayakan dan terdomestikasi dengan baik di dunia. Ikan koi telah menjadi komoditas budidaya yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi di pasar internasional dan domestik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pembenihan ikan koi yang dikembangbiakan secara alami. Studi pembenihan ikan koi dilakukan selama 3 bulan di Mina Karya Koi, Sleman Yogyakarta. Calon induk ikan koi dipelihara di dalam wadah berupa bak-bak beton selanjutnya diseleksi berdasarkan standar calon induk yang diinginkan. Derajat pembuahan telur (FR) yang dihasilkan selama kegiatan sebesar 70% dengan tingkat penetasan telur (HR) sebesar 82,3%. Dalam satu siklus kegiatan pembenihan, dihasilkan benih ikan koi sebanyak 105,000 ekor tahun-1 dan R/C rasio sebesar 2,1. Cyprinus rubrofuscus is a freshwater ornamental fish species that has been cultivated and well-domesticated in the world. Koi fish has been a sought-after aquaculture commodity in the International dan domestic market. The present study aimed to investigate the series of koi fish hatchery processes that are bred naturally. Koi fish hatchery study was conducted for 3 months in Mina Karya Koi, Sleman Yogyakarta. The broodstocks were firstly selected based on broodstock quality standards and reared at concretes tank. The fertilization rate (FR) of koi was at 70% with an egg hatching rate (HR) of 82.3%. In one cycle of breeding, koi fish can produce about 105,000 years-1 and an R/C ratio of 2.1.

Abstract

Ikan mikro rasbora galaxy Danio margaritatus merupakan jenis ikan hias yang banyak disukai oleh hobbies ikan hias baik di dalam maupun luar negeri. Ikan ini memiliki potensi sangat tinggi untuk dikembangkan karena memiliki nilai jual dan permintaan di pasar internasional yang cukup tinggi. Selain itu teknologi pembudidayaannya relatif mudah untuk dikuasai oleh pelaku usaha perikanan. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi proses produksi ikan mikro rasbora galaxy skala komersil, serta kelayakan usahanyauntuk optimalisasi usaha kecil dan menengah. Hasil analisis kelayakan usaha dengan ketersediaan induk yang dipijahkan sebanyak 2.400 ekor bahwa dalam 1 siklus pemeliharaan, diperoleh fekunditas telur sebanyak 4.509 butir, dengan FR rata-rata 66%, HR rata-rata 70 % serta persentase SR benih rata-rata sebesar 84%. Hasil perhitungan kelayakan finansial diperoleh keuntungan sebesar Rp 49.989.977/tahun, R/C rasio 1,87, BEP (Rp) Rp 39.854.876, BEP (unit) sebanyak 26.570 ekor, dan HPP Rp 803 per ekor. Hasil tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa semua aspek finansial usaha budidaya ikan mikro rasbora galaxy layak untuk dijalankan.

Abstract

The provision of quality and sufficient shrimp fry for production is largely determined by the management of maintenance during larval stadia. This study aims to obtain the best treatment of natural feed in the form of Spirulina sp. and Artemia sp. as feed supplements to improve the growth performance and survival rate of patin fish larvae. The experiment used a Complete Randomized Design consisting of 4 feed treatments and 3 replicates: A (Artemia sp. 100%), B (Artemia sp. 100% and Spirulina sp. 100%), C (Artemia sp. 50% and Spirulina sp. 50%), and D (Spirulina sp. 100%). The larvae with a density of 50 heads/L were kept in the aquarium and fed according to the treatment. The density of Spirulina sp. administered was 104–105 cells/mL maintained until day 7 according to the treatment. The parameters measured included growth performance, which included specific growth rate (SGR), survival (SR), absolute length growth (PPM), and analysis of larval digestive enzymes (amylase, lipase, and protease). The data were analyzed using one way-analysis of variance and continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test with a 95% confidence interval using SPSS version 22.0. The results showed that the administration of Spirulina sp. produced better SGR, SR, PPM, amylase enzyme, lipase, and protease activities compared to the control (100% administration of Artemia sp.). The best treatment was given by 100% Spirulina sp. treatment. Keywords: Artemia sp., digestive enzymes, patin fish larvae, Spirulina sp.
