Abstract

AbstracThis research aim of the study was to find out about the activities and results of learning mathematics using Bruner's Theory assisted by media unit cubes in the class V of Darit State Islamic Middle School. The method used is descriptive method. Collaborative nature. The research subjects were teachers who taught Mathematics and the fifth grade students of Darit State Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Settings for setting settings in class. The technique used is the direct observation technique. While the data collection tool is the observation sheet. The data collected is data about the activities of teachers and students and the learning outcomes of students in the learning process. The results of the study in the first cycle of the activities of students in mathematics learning amounted to 62.5% of the second cycle of 77.08%, the third cycle was 90.63%. While the mathematics learning outcomes of cyclical students 1 averaged 65, cycle 2 averaged 75, and cycle 3 averaged 80.Keywords: Activities, Learning Outcomes, Bruner's Theory

Abstract

AbstractThis study was aimed at 1) Describing the misconceptions of students towards the Field Independent and Field Dependent cognitive styles on integer operation material in class VII and 2) Describing whether or not misconceptions could be solved through remediation on cognitive style students in Independent Field and Field Dependent cognitive styles. This research applied a descriptive qualitative case study. The subjects in this study were class VII F students of SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Raya choosen by applying simple random sampling. The data collection techniques used in this research were 1) test methods in which it consisted of Group Embeded Figure Test (GEFT) and Multiple Choice test with open reasoning, 2) interview method which was conducted to Field Independent and Field Dependent students who had misconceptions, 3) remediation methods (metode pengajaran ulang/perbaikan) of the integer material. Based on the results of data analysis, it was obtained changes in the score of pretest and posttest. The mean score of students' pre-test was 37.91 and the mean scores of students' posttest was 96.7. This indicates that the score of the post-test after remediation increased and misconceptions that occured while doing the pretest had been minimized, there could not even be found any subjects that had misconceptions anymore and it means that the remediation (pengajaran ulang/perbaikan) given by the researcher successfully helped solve the misconceptions in integer operation material. Keywords: Cognitive Style, Integer, Misconception, Remedition

Abstract

                                     Abstract This research was aimed to explained the effectiveness of  the Implementation Model Learning Cycle 5E in the Material of Algebraic Expression Factorization Subject in Class VII A SMP Negeri 2 Capkala Academic Year 2018/2019. The aspects that want to be explained, namely: learning outcomes of students; and learning activities of students.This research method is explanatory. The form of research uses Pre-Experimental design with a one-shot case study design. The research subjects were students of class in Class VII A SMP Negeri 2 Capkala Academic Year 2018/2019.  Based on the results obtained from two aspects are (1) learning outcomes of students achieving classical completeness, namely 89.29% of students can achieve minimum completeness criteria; and (2) learning activities of students are categorized as active (69.33%). The final conclusion of this study is the Implementation Model Learning Cycle 5E to the effective in the Material of  Algebraic Expression Factorization Subject in Class VII A  SMP Negeri 2 Capkala Academic Year 2018/2019.  Keywords: Model Learning Cycle 5E, Learning Outcomes, Learning Activities.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap kemampuan siswa dalam representasi enaktif, ikonik, dan simbolik pada materi segi empat di kelas VIII SMP Kemala Bhayangkari. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian survei. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, aspek representasi enaktif siswa teridentifikasi bahwa siswa mampu meletakkan persegi pada bingkainya dan siswa pada kemampuan menengah dan bawah tidak mampu melipat kertas persegi sesuai garis yang dibuat, kemudian menyebutkan titik dan sisi persegi yang bersesuaian. Pada aspek representasi ikonik, semua siswa tidak mampu menempelkan potongan kertas segi empat sesuai dengan sifatnya dan hanya satu siswa yang tidak mampu menggambar sebuah segi empat pada diagram Kartesius. Pada aspek representasi simbolik teridentifikasi bahwa semua siswa tidak mampu mengidentifikasi benda-benda di sekitar dan mengelompokkan benda-benda tersebut sesuai dengan jenis-jenis segi empat, tapi semua siswa mampu menuliskan pasangan sisi yang sama panjangnya dari suatu segi empat.   Kata Kunci: Representasi Matematis, Segi Empat   Abstract: The purpose of this research is to reveal the students ability of representation enactive, iconic, and symbolic on the quadrilateral matter in the class 8 SMP Kemala Bhayangkari. The method that is used is descriptive research in survey research mode. Based on the result of research, student?s enactive representation aspects identified that student is able to put a square on the frame and students at the intermediate and lower ability is not able to fold a square of paper according the line, then made its point and the relevance edge of square. In the aspect of iconic representations, all students are not able to put a rectangular piece of paper in accordance with it?s associated and only one student who was not able to draw a rectangle on the Cartesian diagram. In the aspects of symbolic representation identified that all students are not able to identify objects around and classify these objects according to the types of rectangular, but all students were able to write the same edge pairs in length of a rectangle.   Keywords: Mathematical Representation, Quadrilateral

Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to describe student’s translation ability on mathematical representation in terms of student belief in the Pythagoras theorem material of sets in grade VIII SMP Negeri 19 pontianak. The method that was use in this research is descriptive method with case study form. The subject of this research are 32 students. The data collection instrument that used is written test in essay, questionnaire, and interview as the follow-up activity. The result of data analylisis showed that the students’ translation ability on mathematical representation is classified as very low, six types of translation that might occur translation ability on mathematical representation from the symbol representation to the visual representation is classified  highest and translation  ability on mathematical representation from the visual to the verbal representation is classified lowest. Keywords: Translation Ability on Mathematical Representation, Student Belief, Pythagoras Theorem.

Abstract

 AbstractThis research aims to describe the students’ ability of making connection in arithmetic sequences and series material at senior high school in academic year 2017/2018. Method used in this research was descriptive in case study form. Subject in this research were the twelfth grade of SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak with a number of 34 students. Data collection technique used were test and interview. The result of data analysis showed students’ mathematical connection ability were varied; some students were in the high category while the others were in the medium or low category. However, the students’ ability to recognize and use connections among mathematical and to recognize and apply mathematic concepts in daily activity generally were on the medium category with each percentage 65.44% and 63.24%. The students whom were on the medium and low category couldn’t use connections among mathematical concepts because they didn’t understand about the arithmetic sequences and series material. They also couldn’t apply mathematic concepts in daily activity because they seldom solve the problems about their daily activities.Keywords: Connection Ability, Arithmetic Sequences and Series

Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan partisipasi belajar matematika melalui pemberian penguatan menggunakan tabel berhadiah pada siswa kelas V. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Penelitian dilaksanakan sebanyak 3 siklus dan diawali dengan observasi kelas. Peningkatan partisispasi siswa terjadi secara signifikan di siklus 3. Subjek penelitian adalah 30 orang siswa kelas V SDN 72 Pontianak Barat. Berdasarkan hasil hasil wawancara, observasi dan catatan lapangan maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan tabel berhadiah dapat meningkatkan partisipasi siswa pada tindakan yang diobservasi yaitu mengerjakan tugas baik latihan maupun pekerjaan rumah, mengajukan pertanyaan dan pendapat serta menurunkan rata-rata munculkan sikap yang tidak relevan dalam proses belajar mengajar matematika. Kata Kunci : penguatan, tabel berhadiah, partisipasi Abstract : The purpose of this research is to increase students participation in learning mathematics through the reinforcement technique by using prized chart. The research was conducted to 30 students of the fifth grade students of SDN 72 Pontianak Barat. The research method used was class action research (CAR). The research was done in 3 cycles and started with class observation. The increase of student participation were significant in third cycles. Based on the results of interviews, observations and field notes, it can be concluded that the use of the prized chart can increase students participation in the observed action, namely doing math task both school and homework, asking questions, giving opinions and lowering the average number of irrelevant attitude during mathematic learning. Abstract

AbstractThis research aims describe the students mathematical investigative abilities on  number patterns material at Senior High School 01 Pontianak. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection using tests, interviews, and documentation. The subjects in this study were 35 students of class XI MIPA 7 of Senior High Shool 01 Pontianak. Data analysis shows that students' mathematical investigative ability at the thought process stage specializes in number pattern material classified in the medium category with an average score was 76.63. The ability of students' mathematical investigations at the stage of the thought process of submitting guesses on material number patterns is classified in the medium category with an average score was 74.46. The ability of students' mathematical investigations at the stage of the thought process consider the material on number patterns belonging to the medium category with an average score was 73.18. The ability of students' mathematical investigations at the stage of the process of thinking generalization in the material pattern of numbers is classified in the medium category with an average score was 58.82. Keywords: Mathematical Investigative, Number Patterns

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pendekatan SAVI terhadap materi teorema phytagoras di kelas VIII SMP. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode pra eksperimen dengan bentuk penelitian adalah kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah tiga puluh dua orang siswa kelas VIII B. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketuntasan belajar siswa tercapai secara individu dan sebesar 86% tuntas secara klasikal. Pada aktivitas belajar siswa pertemuan I meningkat sebesar 61,46%, kemudian pertemuan II meningkat sebesar 69,27%, dan pertemuan III meningkat sebesar 80,21%. Dari data yang diperoleh disimpulkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa dan dikategorikan baik. Sedangkan pada respon siswa terhadap pendekatan SAVI diperoleh rata-rata sebesar 79,69% dan dikategorikan baik. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan SAVI efektif untuk diterapkan pada materi teorema phytagoras di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 23 Pontianak. Kata kunci : SAVI, Efektivitas, Phytagoras   Abstract: This research is aimed to find out the effectivity of SAVI Aprroach in Phythagorean Theorem  lesson in eight grade of Junior High School students. The research method which is used is pre-experimental with qualitative research. The subject in this research is thirty two students in VIII B class. The result of this research showes that learning’s exhausitiveness of students is reached as individual and 86% is classically completed. At the first meeting the learning activity was raised until 61,46%, then raised 69,27% at the second meeting, and at the third meeting raised until 80,21%. From the data, it can be conclude that there’s enhancement is students’ learning activity which is categorized as good. The students’ 79,69% which is categorized as good. So, it can be conclude that SAVI Approach is effective to be aplled in phytagorean theorem lesson in eight grade of Junior High School 23 Pontianak. Keywords: SAVI, Effectivity, Phythagorean

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to describe students potential in communicating mathematical ideas through drawings, tables, Cartesian diagrams and related symbol of parallelogram at Junior High School. The research method used is descriptive. The subjects were 28 students in grade VII SMPN 7 Sungai Raya. The result of the research shows that the tendency of students mathematical communication potential about the parallelogram,which is studied with the picture is more likely to be developed in mathematics learning compared to sudents mathematical communication through Cartesian diagram, table, and symbol. Another finding, the potential of students’ mathematical communication related to the area of parallelogram with tables, tends to be mare likely to bedeveloped in mathematics learning than the potential of students’ mathematical communication with images, symbol, and Cartesian diagram.Key words: Mathematical Communication, The Potential Of Mathematical Communication
