Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan aplikasi berbagai jenis probiotik dan imunostimulan komersial pada budidaya udang vaname secara intensif menggunakan tambak plastik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kombinasi penggunaan berbagai jenis probiotik komersial terhadap performa produksi udang vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei) yang dipelihara secara intensif di tambak plastik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriptif mengamati beberapa parameter pertumbuhan, produksi dan kualitas air. Tambak yang digunakan adalah tambak plastic HDPE dengan ukuran 1.275 m2 yang dipasang instalasi listrik dan kincir. Udang dipelihara selama 107 hari dengan pemberian pakan secara terprogram berdasarkan feeding rate dengan kepadatan 145 ekor/m2. Pemberian probiotik berupa Super NB™, Biklin™, Vanna Pro™ dan imunostimulan Pond Guard™, dan Vitamin C™ dilakukan secara terjadwal baik dosis dan frekuensi pemberian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa udang yang dipelihara dengan pemberian probiotik dan imunostimulan memperoleh ABW akhir 25,64 g/ekor, ADG 0,32 g/hari, biomassa akhir 3,995 Kg, produktivitas 31,33 Ton/Ha, SR 94,34% dengan jumlah pakan yang digunakan 6.027 Kg dan menghasilkan FCR 1,50, efisiensi pakan 66,28%. Populasi bakteri Vibrio sp. yang ditemukan berkisar antara 1,8×102-5,9×103 CFU/mL. Beberapa jenis hama ditemukan yakni kepiting, ikan glodok, burung dan teritip. Kualitas air selama pemeliharaan masih dalam kategori optimal untuk pertumbuhan. Abstract

A small guppy ornamental fish contest was organized at the Rejang Lebong State Community College as a community service activity. The purpose of the event was to inform the public about the standards for high-quality guppies as defined by the Indonesian National Guppy Standard (SGNI) and promote the growth of ornamental fish farming in the region. The competition comprised of eight categories, encompassing contestants from both Rejang Lebong and other areas beyond the region. The implementation process consisted of several stages, namely planning, participant registration, technical setup, contest execution, exhibition and education, and evaluation. This activity effectively enhanced participants' comprehension of the attributes of high-quality guppies, methods of caring for them, and criteria for evaluating them in competitions. Furthermore, this event created prospects for economic empowerment by enhancing the value of fish sales and fostering connections among stakeholders. The assessment of the event revealed the necessity for comprehensive training and support in business management to facilitate future growth. The event showcased the capacity of instructional and competitive methods to foster community engagement and unlock the potential in ornamental fish farming.

Abstract

Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed is important for the processing industry because it contains carrageenan used as a stabilizer, thickener, material forming an emulsifier. This study aimed to find the best and optimal initial seed weight treatment for maximum biomass production, growth rate, and carrageenan content. The research location was in the waters of Aeng Batu-Batu Village, Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi in August-September 2022. The randomized block design method (RAK) consisted of 4 treatments each with 4 repetitions. Seaweed seedlings from spores were weight of 20 g, 40 g, 60 g, and 80 g planted at 60 cm depth respectively and maintained for 45 days. Data analysis used (ANOVA) and W-Tuckey to determine the differences between treatments. The result of the analysis of variences showed that the weight of 40 g, 60 g, and 80 g had an effect on the biomass production, growth rate, and K. alvarezii carrageenan content. However, the highest yield was obtained at a weight of 20 g which had a very significant effect (p<0.01).

Abstract

Metode pengawetan telur diperlukan untuk meningkatkam daya simpan dan menjaga mutu telur. Mutu (kualitas) telur akan menurun selama disimpan. Salah satu metode pengawetan telur yang sederhana adalah pelapisan eggshell atau sering disebut kerabang atau cangkang telur, menggunakan extrak tumbuhan dengan kandungan antibakteri dan antioksidan. Penelitian bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh pelapisan eggshell menggunakan extrak tumbuhan selama disimpan pada temperatur rendah terhadap indeks albumen, indeks yolk dan kedalaman kantung udara. Metode penelitian yaitu Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Pelapisan eggshell terdiri dari kontrol, sereh daun jeruk dan daun pandan. Telur ayam disimpan selama 35 hari dalam refrigerator. Data pengamatan dianalisis dengan ANOVA satu arah kemudian uji lanjut Duncan pada taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian yaitu metode pelapisan eggshell dengan extrak tumbuhan berpengaruh nyata terhadap mutu telur. Pelapisan eggshell menghasilkan nilai indeks albumen mutu III, indeks yolk mutu III dan kedalaman kantung udara mutu I setelah disimpan 35 hari. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah pelapisan eggshell dengan sereh dapat menjaga mutu telur paling baik dengan nilai indeks albumen, indeks yolk dan kedalaman kantung udara lebih rendah selama disimpan pada temperatur rendah 35 hari.

Abstract

Innovative business models are critical for addressing the complex sustainability challenges within the livestock sector. This systematic review analyzes various innovative business models designed to align livestock production with the principles of sustainable development. The models examined include the circular economy, Integrated Crop-Livestock Systems (ICLS), Precision Livestock Farming (PLF), digitally-enabled value chains (blockchain and e-commerce), and modern cooperatives. The analysis reveals that these models contribute significantly to the three pillars of sustainability—economic, social, and environmental. They achieve this by transforming waste into valuable resources, enhancing resource efficiency, improving productivity and animal welfare, and empowering smallholder farmers. The key finding is that no single model offers a universal solution; instead, the future of sustainable livestock production lies in integrated, context-specific approaches that combine technological innovation with inclusive social structures. This review concludes by emphasizing the need for policies and investments that support the adoption of these hybrid models to build a livestock sector that is productive, equitable, and environmentally responsible

Abstract

Ornamental comet fish are highly sought after by Indonesians and command high prices. These fish are generally distributed throughout Indonesia in plastic bags using closed transportation. Efforts are made to minimize stress on the fish and reduce the deterioration of water quality during transportation by using the chemical MS 222. However, awareness of the side effects of chemicals has led to the need for organic alternatives. One such solution is the bandotan leaf (Ageratum conyzoides), which contains anesthetic properties. The extraction method for bandotan leaves involves maceration, which is the mixing of bandotan leaves and 96% ethanol in a ratio of 7.5:1. A single factor was used in the experimental design, consisting of 3 treatments and 3 replications, totaling 9 experimental units, with statistical analysis conducted using ANOVA. Metabolic waste plays a role in reducing water quality and physiological responses, which can be suppressed by adding bandotan leaf extract. The treatment with the addition of bandotan leaf extract showed superior results in increasing the Survival Rate (SR). Therefore, bandotan leaf has been proven effective in supporting in good water quality and physiological responses of fish.

Abstract

Probiotik telah menjadi kebutuhan dalam kegiatan akuakultur karena peranannya yang penting dalam meningkatkan produksi. Bakteri probiotik B. megaterium PTB 1.4 dan P. pentosaceus E2211 diketahui dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan konsumsi pakan pada ikan lele. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pemberian kombinasi bakteri B. megaterium PTB 1.4 dan P. pentosaceus E2211 sebagai probiotik untuk pada pertumbuhan dan konsumsi pakan. Ikan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ikan lele (Clarias sp.) dan bakteri B. megaterium PTB 1.4 dan P. pentosaceus E2211 dengan dosis 0.5% pada masing-masing bakteri. Probiotik diberikan melalui pencampuran pakan dan diberikan tiga kali sehari secara satiasi selama 30 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ikan lele yang diberikan probiotik menunjukkan tingkat kelangsungan hidup 97.78± 3.85%, laju pertumbuhan harian 5.11±0.05 g/hari, jumlah konsumsi pakan 520.47±0.13 g dan rasio konversi pakan 0.66±0.02. Populasi total bakteri pada saluran pencernaan 8.4±0.01 Log-CFU mL-1, bakteri asam laktat 7,77±0.005 Log CFU mL-1, 6,32±0.008 Log CFU mL-1 untuk bakteri B. megaterium PTB 1.4 dan 6,2±0.014 log-CFU mL-1 untuk bakteri P. pentosaceus E2211. Dari hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa pemberian bakteri B. megaterium PTB 1.4 dan P. pentosaceus E2211 sebagai probiotik dapat memberikan efek baik pada pertumbuhan dan konsumsi pakan ikan lele.
