Abstract

Bullying, including cyberbullying, has a devastating impact on mental health, particularly among adolescents. This literature study aims to identify mental health issues caused by bullying and cyberbullying. A systematic review was conducted in the last five years using the keywords "bullying, cyberbullying, mental health, adolescent" and the population, intervention, comparison, outcome, study design (PICOS) framework within Scopus (29 articles), ProQuest (187 articles), Science Direct (193 articles), and SAGE (58 articles) published databases in the last five years using the keywords of “bullying, cyberbullying, mental health, adolescent”. The selected articles are those applying quantitative and longitudinal studies published in 2018-2022 in which study participants were adolescents who had experiences as victims of bullying and cyberbullying. The 25 articles met the inclusion criteria for review. Based on the results of the review of the article, it was found that mental health problems can occur in all roles in bullying and cyberbullying, but the highest is in the role of victim. Mental health problems that occur in victims include anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, suicidal ideation, and suicide attempts. Based on these results, different interventions are needed for the roles involved in bullying and cyberbullying, especially for victims, because psychological problems are more common in victims.

Abstract

Background: Cognitive, communication, social interaction, behavior patterns, and activity limitations in autistic children become a source of stress for parents. Parents' negative assessment of autistic children leads to maladaptive coping and results in inappropriate parenting behavior. Objective: This study focuses on evaluating parents' knowledge of autistic disorders and their relationship to coping in caring for children with autism. Method: Cross-sectional study is the design of this study. Involving 22 respondents, namely parents of children with autism whose children attend education at Special Schools (SLB) in Malang City. The data collection instrument was developed based on the Knowledge about Childhood Autism Among Health Workers (KCAHW) questionnaire to obtain data on family knowledge variables. Family coping variables using McCubbin's F-COPES questionnaire. Both questionnaires are tools that have been tested for reliability. Analystsare statisticians using the Spearman Rank test with a significance of 5%. Results: 64% of Parisipans had high knowledge of autism and 14% of parents had maladaptive coping. The results of statistical tests found that the level of knowledge about autism was related to family coping mechanisms in children with autisme disorder (p-value 0.003; r 0.599). Conclusion: Adaptive coping of families with autistic disorder children increases with good parental knowledge. Therefore, health education about autism and its care is always informed to the public to prevent maladaptive coping in the care of children with autism disorders in the family. Instrument pengumpulan data dikembangkan berdasarkan kuesioner Knowledge about Childhood Autism Among Health Workers (KCAHW) untuk memperoleh data variabel pengetahuan keluarga.

Abstract

In Indonesia and worldwide, breast cancer accounts for the greatest number of cancer patients. Chemotherapy is the treatment used to treat breast cancer patients; however, it might cause One of the psychological adverse effects that chemotherapy usually causes for individuals with breast cancer is anxiety. Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea Vomiting (CINV) is the most common physical adverse effect experienced by breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. This cross-sectional study employs certain research approaches. Patients receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer at the RSD Dr. Soebandi Jember and Baladhika Husada Jember Hospital made up the study's population. This research was conducted for one month, and the number of samples used in this research was 120. Anxiety measurement uses a questionnaire Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A) to measure levels of anxiety, and the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) Antiemesis Tool (MAT) to measure Chemotherapy Induces Nausea and Vomiting (CINV). Data analysis with a paired sample t test using the IBM SPSS v.25 for Windows programme. The results of the Pearson correlation test between anxiety and CINV in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy showed a significance value of 0.00 or <0.05, which means there is a correlation between anxiety and CINV experienced by respondents. The higher the level of anxiety, the more CINV complaints the patient will experience. Vice versa, the lower the level of anxiety, the CINV experienced by the patient will be minimal. Abstract

Along with the increasing of orthopedic disorders incidence, the provision of orthopedic nursing care in Indonesia is also increasing. The Indonesian National Nurses Association (INNA) has published nursing care standards as a reference for nurses in providing nursing care and standardizing nursing care terminologies. Standard-based orthopedic nursing care instruments have been developed, but their effectiveness has not been investigated in improving the quality of nursing services and patient safety. This study aimed to identify the effect of the application of 3S-based Orthopedic Nursing Care (3S-ONC) on the quality of nursing services and patient safety. Descriptive quantitative analysis using a quasi-experimental method with a pretest and posttest with control group design, involving 106 respondents (53 control, 53 intervention), recruited by purposive sampling technique. In the intervention group, nurses provided nursing care by applying the 3S-based Orthopedic Nursing Care (3S-ONC) instrument. The study showed that in both groups, most of the nurses were in the early adult category, dominated by female sex and most of them had professional education level. There were significant differences in the quality of nursing services (p 0.046; α 0.05) and patient safety (p 0.000; α 0.05) between the intervention group and the control group after the application of the 3S-ONC instrument. The 3S-ONC instrument can improve the quality of nursing services and the safety of patients with orthopedic disorders in hospitals. The 3S-ONC instrument can be considered for the development of a paper-based or computer-based nursing care documentation system to further improve the quality of nursing services and patient safety in healthcare facilities, especially in hospital.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to explore how age, gender, and emotional intelligence impact emotion regulation in adolescents participating in cyberbullying. A cross-sectional study was conducted in January 2023, involving 108 teenagers selected through purposive sampling. Data, gathered through a demographic questionnaire, Revised Cyberbullying Inventory II, and an emotional intelligence questionnaire, were analyzed using descriptive and multiple regression methods. The findings revealed that age, gender, and emotional intelligence collectively influence situation modification, accounting for a 2.52% impact (p-value=0.024). Emotional intelligence demonstrated effects on both situation modification and attentional deployment in individuals playing the roles of victims and perpetrators (p-value=0.018). In the case of adolescents acting as perpetrators, age, gender, and emotional intelligence collectively exhibited significant influence on attention deployment, contributing to a 9.83% impact (p-value=0.01). For adolescents who abstain from participating, the modulation response is simultaneously affected by age, gender, and emotional intelligence (p-value<0.001), resulting in a 4.44% influence. Notably, age, gender, and emotional intelligence were identified as factors influencing emotion regulation at various stages, depending on whether adolescents played the roles of victims, victims-perpetrators, or perpetrators. it is recommended that mental health nurses implement tailored emotion regulation interventions for adolescents involved in cyberbullying.
