Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of paclobutrazol and KOH application through leaf togrowth and production of cassava.  This study was conducted from March 2017 to October 2018 in an Integrated Field Universityof Lampung. The treatmens was arranged factorially (4 x 4) in a complete randomized block design with 4 replications be avowed as group.  The main factor were paclobutrazol consist of P1 = 0 ppm (control, no treatment), P2 = 400 ppm, P3 = 500 ppm and P4 = 600 ppm.  The second factor were KOH consist of K1 = 0% (control, no treatment), K2 =0,5%, K3 = 1% and K4 = 1,5 given a week after paclobutrazol?s application.  This study used cassava cutting varieties of kasesart.  Observation variables were plant height, number of books, number of fresh leaves, fresh weight of leaves, dry weight of leaves, fresh weight of stem, dry weight of stem, fresh weight of tubers, dry weight of tubers.  Data of each treatments were calculated its mean value and tested homogeneity.  Homogeneous data were analyzed variance and followed by the smallest real difference testat level 5%.The study?s result showed that paclobutrazol application had inhibited effect the vegetative growth of plant height, number of nodes, fresh and dry weight of stem cassava plants.  Application of KOH had a significant effect only on number of fresh leave at 13 week after planted.  The interaction of paclobutrazol and KOH treatment had a significant effect on leaf dry weight.

Abstract

Cassava plant breeders and seed producers need a method of plant propagation through a semi-conventional ways to be able to supply rapidly the needs of seed varieties before and after the release of government. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of various concentrations of indole-3-butyric acid and a number of nodes of cuttings on the growth of new shoots and roots of cassava cuttings. Plant material used in the form of cassava stems, which comes from a plant of 10 months old. This experiment used a randomized complete treatment is the number of the nodes: 1, 2, and 3 nodes with indole-3-butyric acid: 0; 500; 1000, and 2000 ppm. Each treatment was repeated 10 times with the experimental unit consists of 2 cuttings. Treatment of cuttings 3 nodes increase speed germinate, sprout cuttings percentage, number of shoots, number of leaves, number of nodes of new shoot and number of roots. The treatment of indole-3-butyric acid 2000 ppm increased growth in the number of shoots, number of leaves, number of nodes and number of roots. Interaction cuttings 3 nodes by giving indole-3-butyric acid 2000 ppm increased growth in the number of shoots, number of leaves, number of nodes and number of roots. Abstract

Propagation of cassava through in vitro culture is required by farmers and agro industries to fulfill the need of the best and the newest clone as soon as after that clone is released by government. The objective of this research is to know the effect of the application of four concentration of benzyl adenine on the growth and proliferation of cassava shoot in vitro. Explants used were one-node cuttings of cassava about 1 cm length, grown in polybags. This research was arranged in completely randomized design with the treatments consisting of four concentrations of benzyl adenine: 0.5, 1, 2 and 4 mg/l added of basic media of Murashige and Skoog. Each treatment was replicated 4 times with 5 explants in each experimet al unit. The best growth and micro-shoot propagation of cassava in vitro was indicated by treatment of 0.5 mg/l benzyl adenine.Key words: cassava, benzyl adenin, in vitro, micro-shoot

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of POC banana skin nutrition and the use of plant medium and to obtain the best combination of treatments on the growth and yield of hydroponic cultivated tomato plants. This research was conducted in Experimental Garden of Agricultural Faculty of Riau University, Pekanbaru from June to October 2017. This study used a complete randomized design (RAL). The first factor is POC nutrients of banana skin with concentrations of: 20 ml.l-1 water, 35 ml.l-1 water, and 50 ml.l-1 water. The second factor is planting medium that is Charcoal husk, Cocopeat and Charcoal husk + cocopeat (with ratio 1: 1). The parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, flowering age, percentage of flower to fruit, number of fruit crops, age of first harvest, weight per fruit, fruit diameter and fruit weight per plant. Provision of POC banana peel 35 ml.l-1 water in husk charcoal medium to increase the growth of plant height, the percentage of flowers into fruit, the number of fruit crops and the weight of fruit crops. Keywords: nutrition, planting medium, hydroponics

Abstract

The research aims to examine the effect of interaction of cow rumen compost with NPK fertilizer and get the best treatment combination in increasing the growth and yield of red chili pepper (Capsicum annuum L.). The research was conducted at Experimental Garden of Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Riau from September 2018 to January 2019.The research was done in a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial and repeated three times. The first treatment was cow rumen compost that consist of 3 levels that are 10 ton.ha-1, 15 ton.ha-1 and 20 ton.ha-1. The second factor was NPK fertilizer that consist of 3 levels that are 600 kg.ha-1, 900 kg.ha-1 and 1200 kg.ha-1. The observation parameters were plant height, dichotomous height, stem diameter, age of flowering, age of the harvest crop, fruit length, fruit diameter, number of fruits per plant and fruit weight per m2. The research data were  analyzed using analysis of varriance (ANOVA) and followed by duncan’s new multiple range test (DNMRT) at level 5%. The result of the research showed that the treatment of cow rumen compost10 ton.ha-1 and NPK fertilizer 900 kg.ha-1 gave better result on parameter of stem diameter, fruit length, fruit diameter, number of fruits per plant and fruit weight per m2.Keywords:cow rumen compost, NPK fertilizer, growth, red chili, yield

Abstract

The need for chili peppers (Capsicum annuum L.) in Riau Province increased, along with the increasing population, while production in 2019 of 17,513 tons has not been able to meet the needs, so it was imported from other provinces such as, West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and other provinces. If there is a shortage of supply such as a broken road to Riau, or low production it will have an impact on increasing chili prices in Riau, for that it is necessary to increase chili production in Riau. Farmers in farming chili, often experience crop failure due, one of which is high infection withered fusarium disease caused by the fungus Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. capsici. This fungus develops quickly in soil conditions with high humidity, especially during harvest that coincides with the rainy season, where transmission is carried out by spores mainly through the intercession of water flow in roots and leaves (Heriyanto, 2019). The purpose of this community service is to improve the knowledge and skills of farmers in overcoming withers in chili plants. Devotional activities are held in April - October 2021, in the form of lectures and discussions and the creation of pilot pilot pilots. As a result of the service, the community understands the technique of planting and overcoming withers in chili plants.

Abstract

This research aims to obtain the proper nutrient concentration and the best nutrient concentration and increase the growth and yield of pakcoy through the floating hydroponic system. The research was conducted in the Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from October to November 2019. The research used a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The given treatment was the nutrient concentration of AB Mix consisting of 5 levels: AB Mix 1000 ppm, AB Mix 1200 ppm, AB Mix 1400 ppm, AB Mix 1600 ppm, and AB Mix 1800 ppm. The parameters observed were plant height, leaf number, leaf area, root volume, plant fresh weight, and worthy weight consumption. The result showed that all the given treatments did not have significant towards all parameters. The concentration of 1000 ppm is the best concentration of some else, because more efficient, economic and saves the solution uses of nutrien in concentration. Based on the results of a study that has been conducted, to gain growth and the results of white pakcoy plant are both hydroponic can usea concentration of AB Mix 1000 ppm.

Abstract

Siamese orange is a staple horticultural item in Kuok Village, Kuok District, Kampar Regency, although it is under threat from pests and illnesses. Integrated pest management emphasizes ecologically friendly pest control through the use of biological agents. The goal of this service activity is to assist Siamese citrus producers who are hampered by insect invasions and to improve farmers' skills in applying environmentally friendly control technology. Consolidation, surveys, counseling, demonstrations, and mentoring were the methods of implementation. The counseling method consists of forum presentations, questions and responses. Making PDA media, isolating, growing Metharizium sp. and Trichoderma sp., composting were all practices. The service outcomes reveal that the service activities benefit citrus producers in Kuok Village significantly. Farmers understand how to control citrus pests properly. Making PDA media , isolating, cultivating Metharizium sp. and Trichoderma spp. were examples of environmentally friendly management approaches. Farmers responded enthusiastically to the production of methankos.

Abstract

Ecoprint adalah teknik pencetakan dengan menggunakan pewarna alami dari bahan organik, seperti daun, bunga, atau kulit buah. Ecoprint sering kali digunakan dalam pembuatan kain untuk produk-produk ramah lingkungan dan berkelanjutan karena menggunakan bahan-bahan alami dan mengurangi penggunaan pewarna kimia. Teknik ini juga dianggap sebagai cara yang kreatif dan indah untuk menghasilkan desain tekstil yang unik dan organik. Artikel ini berusaha memaparkan dan memberi sosialisasi pembuatan tas ramah lingkungan, meliputi bahan dan alat, metode (pemahaman mendalam tentang prinsip-prinsip dasar ecoprint, termasuk pemilihan bahan organik, teknik pencetakan, dan proses fiksasi warna), hasil, dan manfaatnya terhadap Ibu-ibu Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) Desa Mulyo Harjo. Artikel ini ditulis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan model deskriptif-eksplanatif untuk menjelaskan sosialisasi pembuatan tas ramah lingkungan ecoprint di Desa Mulyo Harjo. Hasil dari sosialisasi ini adalah peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan ibu-ibu PKK dalam menggunakan teknik ecoprint untuk menghasilkan tas yang unik dan berkelanjutan secara lingkungan. Selain itu, pelatihan ini juga memberikan dampak positif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya praktik berkelanjutan dan pelestarian lingkungan. Artikel ini juga berkontribusi dalam pengimplementasian poin-poin Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

Research and community service (P2M) are crucial elements that higher education institutions can undertake to address the challenges and problems faced by society. According to the administrative system in higher education institutions, before initiating a P2M program, a series of processes, including the creation of a proper and correct proposal, are required. This proposal will then be submitted to the LPPM (Institute for Research and Community Service) as the coordinator of P2M activities. The quality of the P2M proposal significantly influences the implementation of these activities. Therefore, the quality and quantity of P2M proposal creation can be improved through training. This article will discuss the training conducted with the main objective of enhancing the ability of lecturers to prepare research and community service proposals within the Aceh Polytechnic environment. The training aims to ensure that lecturers can create proposals that meet administrative standards, thereby obtaining approval and support from the LPPM of Aceh Polytechnic. By improving the lecturers' ability to prepare proper and correct proposals, the quality and quantity of research and community service at Aceh Polytechnic will significantly increase.                   Keywords: P2M; three pillars of higher education; LPPM; research proposal  Abstrak: Penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (P2M) adalah elemen krusial yang dapat dilakukan perguruan tinggi untuk mengatasi tantangan dan masalah yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat. Berdasarkan sistem administrasi di perguruan tinggi, sebelum dapat memulai program P2M ini maka diperlukan serangkaian proses termasuk pembuatan proposal yang baik dan benar yang nantinya akan diserahkan kepada pihak LPPM selaku koordinator kegiatan P2M. Pembuatan proposal P2M yang berkualitas akan sangat berpengaruh terhadap terlaksananya kegiatan P2M ini, terkait hal tersebut kualitas dan kuantitas pembuatan proposal P2M dapat ditingkatkan dengan dilakukannya pelatihan. Artikel ini akan membahas pelatihan yang dilakukan dengan tujuan utama meningkatkan kemampuan dosen dalam menyusun proposal penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di lingkungan Politeknik Aceh. Pelatihan ini bertujuan memastikan dosen mampu membuat proposal yang memenuhi standar administrasi, sehingga bisa mendapatkan persetujuan dan dukungan dari LPPM Politeknik Aceh. Dengan meningkatnya kemampuan dosen dalam menyusun proposal yang baik dan benar maka juga akan meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas penelitian serta pengabdian kepada masyarakat di Politeknik Aceh akan mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan. Kata kunci: P2M; tri dharma perguruan tinggi; LPPM; proposal penelitian
