Community service carried out by the PkM Team of the German Language Education Department FBSB-UNY has been carried out from May 03, 2024 to June 04, 2024. The objectives of this community service are to: (1) provide insights into knowledge and learning in German phonetics for German teachers, (2) train teachers to make Podcast media to be used in the learning process. This training activity consists of three stages, namely (1) Explanation of Phonetics in German in the form of vowels, consonants and diphthongs, (2) Introduction to Podcast that can be integrated in learning dan teaching, (3) Simulation of learning using Podcast media (4) Development of learning materials using Podcast. The results obtained from the activities of this community service program are: (1) teachers participating in this activity have knowledge about German phonetics and can apply it in learning, (2) teachers are skilled in developing and integrating Podcast in learning

Abstract

Introduction: Indoor air quality (IAQ) refers to the quality of air within enclosed spaces, which makes up most of the air inhaled daily. Pneumonia is reported to be 17.33 times more common in children living in unhealthy households than those in healthy homes. This study examined the relationship between physical and chemical indoor air quality and children's respiratory health in the working area of the South Krembangan Community Health Center in Krembangan Subdistrict, Surabaya City. Methods: This study employed an analytical observational design utilizing a case-control approach. Samples were selected through purposive sampling. A total of 54 respondents participated in this study, consisting of 27 cases and 27 controls. Results and Discussion: The findings demonstrated a strong correlation between the prevalence of pneumonia in children and air quality parameters including room temperature, humidity, PM2.5 concentration, lighting intensity, and ventilation area. Room temperature (p = 0.029), humidity (p = 0.049), PM2.5 (p = 0.014), lighting intensity (p = 0.006), and ventilation area (p = 0.028) all showed statistically significant correlations. Formaldehyde (HCHO), on the other hand, did not significantly correlate with the incidence of pneumonia (p = 0.569). Additionally, total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs) and carbon monoxide (CO) were found to be below the Environmental Health Quality Standards. Conclusion: Although many housing conditions already fulfil established criteria, it is advised that factors potentially affecting indoor air quality be taken into consideration.

Abstract

Deep learning is a pedagogical approach that emphasizes the holistic cognitive, emotional, and social engagement of learners so that the understanding formed is meaningful and sustainable, in line with the direction of national curriculum policy that encourages learning oriented towards deep conceptual understanding rather than mere surface-level content mastery. This study aims to analyze the readiness level of Indonesian Language Teacher Professional Education (PPG) students in implementing deep learning in schools, covering conceptual knowledge, pedagogical readiness, and psychological readiness. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey design involving PPG Indonesian Language students. Data were collected through a validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaire, supported by semi-structured interviews. The results indicate that students' overall readiness level falls into the moderately ready category, with conceptual knowledge showing the highest achievement and differentiated learning practice readiness showing relatively lower achievement. Factors influencing readiness include teaching experience, training intensity, and support from supervising lecturers and partner schools. This study recommends strengthening field practice programs and continuous case-study-based training to improve PPG students' readiness in effectively implementing deep learning in the classroom.
