Abstract

Abstract

China and Indonesia, as two pivotal nations in Asia, have established a cooperative and mutually beneficial social relationship through their longterm interactions. This relationship transcends the extensive maritime domains and abundant marine resources of both countries, being deeply influenced by their shared norms and collective identities. For instance, China’s 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiative and Indonesia’s Global Maritime Fulcrum strategy not only exemplify this social relationship but also mirror the mutual understanding and aspirations of both nations regarding maritime cooperation. Specifically, notable advancements have been achieved in areas such as trade, investment, infrastructure development, fisheries, energy, and marine tourism. Concrete examples of these positive outcomes include the collaborative Jakarta-Bandung HighSpeed Rail project and the development of the “Twin Parks” fisheries center between China and Indonesia. However, despite the positive strides in economic cooperation, progress in maritime security collaboration has been comparatively slow. Challenges such as the South China Sea disputes, illegal fishing, Indonesia’s policy of balancing major powers, and the rise of domestic nationalism present potential hurdles to cooperation. To further deepen their partnership, both countries need to continually adjust and reshape their norms and identities through interaction, enhance political trust, and strengthen cultural exchanges. Moreover, actively exploring possibilities in non-traditional security cooperation, such as joint efforts in marine environmental protection and combating maritime crime, could pave new pathways for the development of their bilateral relations.

Abstract

Dispute in the South China Sea (SCS) is one of the important issues in the last five years. The unilateral claim made by China caused a strong reaction from ASEAN countries, including Indonesia. The rejection of ASEAN countries against China's claim is based on the UNCLOS international law of the sea. Amid efforts to resolve territorial disputes in the SCS, recently the United States has emerged as a third party trying to reduce tensions in the SCS. However, the US move received a cold response from China. The US presence has actually made China show its military presence in the SCS through troop titles and construction of military installations. Such a situation in the LCS has the potential to create a military conflict involving two major powers. If a military confrontation takes place, it is certain that ASEAN countries will be directly involved in order to protect their national sovereignty. This research is a qualitative study that seeks to explain the root causes of territorial disputes in the SCS followed by US-China rivalries and their impact on Indonesia.

Abstract

This study analyzes the individual resilience of young HIV patients at the Teratai Clinic, Community Health Center, Kebayoran Lama District, South Jakarta City and influences it on Indonesian demographics. This study specifically aims to examine the condition of individual resilience of young HIV patients at the Teratai Clinic, Community Health Center, Kebayoran Lama District, South Jakarta City and the accompanying factors. Then the condition of individual resilience will have implications for the demographics of Indonesia. The method used is a qualitative method which is analyzed based on observations of the facts and phenomena found. Sources of data in this study are divided into primary and secondary sources. Primary data sources are in the form of interviews with respondents and direct observations of them. Secondary data sources are studies of related literature and documentation. The study uses the individual resilience theory popularized by Soemarno Soedarsono and an analysis of Indonesian demography using demographic variables studied by Hardiani. The results of this study indicate that three out of ten respondents have weak individual resilience (not strong) due to the lack of a place to tell stories and are prone to experiencing mood swings. Starting from worrying about his health, production period and sins committed in the past. Their individual resilience also has an impact on Indonesia's demographics. At birth rates, in general, couples who are infected with HIV and are not on ARV therapy will choose not to have children for fear of transmitting the disease to their partners and children. Regarding the death rate, this can be seen from FM. He died because he did not care about his condition which had been infected with HIV. Population mobility is also affected. Many people avoid living in the capital and other big cities which are likely to be influenced by promiscuity and will increase the rate of HIV transmission

Abstract

This study aims to review the interpersonal relations between the United States, China, and the European Union in terms of economics and security. Through qualitative methods using an interpersonal relations approach, this study shows the forms and diplomatic steps of the three countries. The results of this study indicate that the relationship between the United States, China, and the European Union actually has an imbalance, where the strengths of each country are very different from one another. This is reflected in their different roles in international politics. The United States maintains significant strategic and political alliances around the world, including in Europe and East Asia. The European Union only has power within Europe, and it cannot project significant military power into East Asia. While China has significant military capabilities in East Asia and competes with the United States in the regional balance of power, global military power is still unable to compete. Abstract

Besides being asked to be an Archipelagoc State, almost all of Indonesia's territorial boundaries are surrounded by sea which places these waters as a strategic route because it is passed by international trade routes. Under these conditions, Indonesia must have a defense and security system that is capable of safeguarding its territory to deal with various military and non-military forces. Where a peaceful situation like this is dominated by non-military threats such as illegal fishing, human trafficking, drug smuggling by sea, to accidents and disasters at sea. So it takes institutions that have the power and authority to maintain maritime sovereignty and security. Although currently Indonesia already has the Indonesian Navy as a state institution that is responsible for maintaining Indonesian territorial sovereignty in the waters. This condition also motivated the author to conduct this research to see how the role of Bakamla RI in collaborating between maritime security institutions to strengthen national resilience considering the increasingly dynamic strategic environment requires a special formulation to overcome various kinds of problems that exist in Indonesian territorial jurisdictions. at the moment. Using a qualitative method approach through interviews and based on reference books and journals using three theories and concepts such as strategic intelligence, maritime security, and national security. The researcher wants to see how the collaborative role of the Indonesian National Security Agency with the Indonesian Navy and Customs in maintaining maritime security is to strengthen national security.
