Abstract

There aren't many studies that address ABK's speech delay, but research reports on similar topics can be found easily. Therefore, the author concentrates on explaining the teacher's way of dealing with children's speech delays. This study aims to find out how teachers and parents deal with children with speech delay disorders. This research was conducted using qualitative case study method. The results showed that some of the children's characteristics were unable to understand and respond to peers, parents, or adults around them; they were less likely to talk (quiet), unable to form simple sentences when asked something; they often used vague, rigid, or stammered language because they lacked vocabulary; and they usually used confused language when speaking. To encourage delays in children's speech, strategy treatment is carried out: 1) training children to speak correctly, slowly, and repeatedly; and 2) always pay attention to grammar when speaking.

Abstract

Abstract

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) interventions in preschool settings are increasingly recognized as foundational for children's holistic development, fostering crucial skills in emotional regulation, social interaction, and school readiness. This systematic literature review aimed to examine methodologies, measured outcomes, and implementation strategies of multimodal SEL interventions globally between 2016 and 2025. Utilizing Scopus as the primary database, the review applied rigorous inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in the analysis of empirical studies evaluating diverse SEL modalities, teacher professional development (PD), and cultural adaptations. Results revealed significant positive impacts from multimodal SEL interventions, including mindfulness practices, play-based learning, digital approaches, and parent involvement, across various developmental domains such as emotional competencies, social skills, and academic performance. Notably, structured and ongoing teacher PD emerged as essential for ensuring high program fidelity and effective SEL delivery. Culturally responsive adaptations were identified as critical factors enhancing program relevance and acceptance, especially in multilingual and multicultural contexts. Despite these promising findings, methodological variability and inconsistencies in measuring long-term impacts indicate a pressing need for standardized approaches and more rigorous longitudinal research. The study provides compelling evidence supporting integrative theoretical frameworks by CASEL, Vygotsky, and Bronfenbrenner, advocating holistic and contextually responsive SEL implementation. Key implications include prioritizing comprehensive teacher training, community and family engagement, and culturally adaptive curricula. Future research directions emphasize the importance of longitudinal studies, consistent fidelity assessments, and broader representation of diverse global contexts to enrich the SEL literature and practice.

Abstract

Ensuring children’s growth and development within the school environment is critical to helping them develop self-protection skills. The purpose of this study is to describe how role-playing activities can develop self-protection skills in early childhood based on an analysis of three developmental theories: Bandura’s social cognitive theory, Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory, and Bronfenbrenner’s ecological theory.  This study employed a qualitative research method, with data collected through observation during role-playing activities.  Observations were conducted in two kindergartens in Indonesia, each of which implemented micro and macro types of role-playing. The observational data obtained through documentation and field notes were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman framework, involving the collection, reduction, and presentation of data in accordance with the thematic patterns of the three developmental theories. The results of the analysis of these three theories indicate that role-playing—whether at the micro or macro level—provides children with opportunities to practice self-protection skills through observation, imitation, scaffolding, and social support. Teachers need to incorporate role-playing as a targeted and collaborative learning strategy that involves both the school and family contexts to ensure that children’s protective skills develop optimally.

Abstract

Science education at the elementary school level plays a crucial role in fostering scientific thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving skills from an early age. Nevertheless, science instruction in elementary schools often remains teacher-centered, verbalistic, and insufficient in promoting meaningful scientific literacy. In response to these challenges, neuroscience provides a theoretical and empirical foundation for designing learning media that align with how the brain processes, stores, and retrieves information. This study aims to systematically examine the integration of neuroscience principles into science learning media and their effects on elementary students' scientific literacy. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted using the PICO framework (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome). Relevant peer-reviewed studies published between 2019 and 2024 were retrieved from Scopus, Google Scholar, ERIC, and DOAJ databases. The review followed four stages: identification, selection, quality appraisal, and thematic synthesis. The results indicate that neuroscience-based interventions—such as Augmented Reality (AR), Brain-Based Learning (BBL), interactive multimedia, and multisensory instructional strategies—consistently improve students' motivation, attention, conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and scientific literacy compared to conventional instructional approaches. The novelty of this study lies in its systematic synthesis of neuroscience-based science learning media through a PICO-oriented framework, highlighting the interaction between cognitive, affective, and technological dimensions of learning. The findings provide important implications for science education, particularly in guiding the development of neuroscience-informed learning media and instructional designs to enhance scientific literacy in elementary schools.
