Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan abu cangkang keong sawah (ACKS) dan zeolit alam sebagai pergantian sebagian semen terhadap uji kuat tekan dan uji kuat lentur beton. Kalsium oksida (CaO) dan silika oksida (SiO2) sebagai pengganti sebagian semen diperoleh dari hasil kalsinasi cangkang keong sawah menggunakan furnace pada suhu 900oC selama 2 jam dan zeolit alam pada suhu 700oC selama 2 jam. Metode yang digunakan untuk analisis kandungan Ca dan Si menggunakan SSA (Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom). Variasi konsentrasi penambahan ACKS dan ZA sebanyak 0%, 4%, 8%, 12%, 16% dan 20% dari berat keseluruhan semen. Pengujian Kuat tekan beton dan kuat lentur beton dilakukan pada variasi waktu 14 hari, 21 hari, 28 hari dan 35 hari. Sebagai pembanding dalam pengukuran uji kuat tekan dan uji kuat lentur digunakan beton tanpa campuran ACKS dan ZA. Penggunaan ACKS dan ZA sebagai pengganti sebagian semen memberikan pengaruh yang tinggi dan sangat baik terhadap uji kuat tekan dan uji kuat lentur beton yaitu pada penambahan 20% pada penyimpanan 35 hari yaiti sebesar 17,422 MPa nilai kuat tekan beton dan 4,1 MPa nilai kuat lentur beton.

Abstract

This study aims to synthesize chitosan nanoparticles - n-hexane extract of Cinnamomum parthenoxylon (CP) fruit using the ionic gelation method, to characterize them, and to determine their antifungal activity against the wood-rotting fungi Trametes versicolor and Fomitopsis palustris. Chitosan-CP extract nanoparticles were formulated with chitosan:Na-TPP:CP extract ratio of 1:1:0.5. Particle size and polydispersity index were determined using a particle size analyzer (PSA), and particles morphology was observed using a scanning electron microscope (SEM), and antifungal activity was measured using agar media. The results revealed that the average size of chitosan nanoparticles (base) was 276.9 nm, while the average size of chitosan-CP extract nanoparticles was 807.6 nm. The polydispersity index (PI) of both nanoparticles was greater than 0.7. Observations of the nanoparticles' morphology revealed that aggregation/agglomeration formed in the resulting particles. Both nanoparticles chitosan (base) and chitosan-CP extract inhibited the growth of white rot fungi (T. versicolor) more than brown rot fungi (F. palustris), as measured by the inhibitory zone.

Abstract

Brucea javanica L. Merr. has long been used for its antimalarial, anti-diabetic, antibacterial, and antioxidant effects. Its bioactivity depends on both its chemical constituents and the type of solvent employed during extraction. Integrating FTIR and UV-Vis spectral data with chemometric approaches enables classification of fruit extracts based on the solvent used, while GC-MS analysis provides detailed compound identification. Using sonication, extraction with methanol, ethyl acetate, and n-hexane produced yields of 30.61% ± 0.80, 19.20% ± 0.75, and 18.12% ± 0.89, respectively. FTIR spectra were recorded over 600–4000 cm⁻¹, and UV-Vis spectra were measured across 200–800 nm. Analysis showed that ethyl acetate and n-hexane extracts exhibited similar profiles, which differed from that of the methanol extract. PCA successfully distinguished all three extracts, with cumulative PC1 and PC2 values above 70%. FTIR-based PCA provided better separation due to its broader fingerprint region compared to UV-Vis spectra. GC-MS results revealed that the compound profiles were largely similar across the extracts, although more compounds were detected in the methanol extract than in the ethyl acetate or n-hexane extracts.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service project is to transfer information and skills about the art of producing aromatherapy candles using natural ingredients like coffee, lemongrass, and lime to the residents of Tapak Gedung Village, Tebat Karai District, Kepahiang Regency. The technique used for community service projects in Tapak Gedung Village, Tebat Karai District, Kepahiang Regency, including teaching people how to make aromatherapy candles out of lime and coffee beans. The residents of Tapak Gedung Village, Tebat Karai District, Kepahiang Regency, have learned how to make aromatherapy candles from natural materials nearby, and this could lead to the residents of Tapak Gedung Village becoming financially independent. This is based on the outcomes of community service activities involving training in the production of aromatherapy candles from coffee beans and lime.

Abstract

Body butter merupakan sediaan kosmetika yang digunakan untuk perawatan kulit.Minyak atsiri jeruk kalamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa (Bunge) Wijnands)memiliki kandungan senyawa limonen yang tinggi yang memiliki aktivitas sebagaiantioksidan sehingga dapat diformulasikan ke dalam sediaan body butter gunamenjaga kesehatan kulit. Stabilitas sediaan body butter ini sangat dipengaruhi olehkonsentrasi emulgator yang terkandung di dalamnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmegevaluasi sifat alir dan stabilitas sediaan body butter MAJK. Penelitian inidilakukan dengan membuat sediaan body butter MAJK sebanyak 5 formula dengankonsentrasi asam stearat : trietanolamin dengan perbandingan F-1 (1%:2%), F-2(5%:2,5%), F-3 (10%:3%), F-4 (15%:3,5%), dan F-5 (20%:4%). Hasil penelitianpada uji sifat alir menunjukan bahwa sediaan body butter MAJK masuk kedalam tipealir pseudoplastis dan hasil pengukuran nilai pH sediaan menujukkan bahwa semuaformula memiliki nilai pH yang stabil selama 4 minggu penyimpanan. Padapengukuran nilai viskositas menunjukkan bahwa sediaan tidak stabil selama 4minggu penyimpanan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa sediaanbody butter MAJK masuk kedalam tipe alir pseudoplastis dan sediaan tidak stabilpada uji viskositas selama 4 minggu penyimpanan pada suhu ruang.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to look into the antibacterial activity of methanolic extract of Excoecaria cochinchinensis as well as the effect of its combination with antibiotics on the growth of Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter aerogenes, and Staphylococcus epidermidis. The antibacterial activity test was carried out using the well diffusion method, and the combined effect of the extract and antibiotics was observed using the paper strip diffusion method. At various concentrations (25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, and 250 mg/mL), the extract significantly inhibited the growth of K. pneumoniae, E. aerogenes, and S. epidermidis. The inhibitory zone's diameter increased proportionally with the extract concentration. The growth of K. pneumoniae and S. epidermidis was then classified as extremely sensitive (+++) to the addition of the extract at 200 and 250 mg/mL concentrations, meanwhile, E. aerogenes’s with 250 mg/mL of the extract. Secondary metabolites such as oleanolic acid, arjunolic acid, scopoletin, kaempferol, quercetin, diterpenoid compounds, tannins, and other phenolics have been reported from E. cochinchinensis leaves and are thought to be responsible for its antimicrobial activity. The effect of the extract’s combination with antibiotics was insignificant compared to their individual activity, thereby classifying them as indifferent.

Abstract

Secara global prevalensi anemia pada ibu hamil mencapai 41,8%, dengan prevalensi tertinggi di Afrika dan Asia. Di Indonesia, angka anemia ibu hamil mencapai 48,9% dan di Bengkulu 12,6%. Penyebab utama anemia adalah kekurangan zat besi dan mikronutrien, serta faktor usia. Kepatuhan yang rendah dalam konsumsi suplemen zat besi sering memperburuk kondisi anemia pada ibu hamil. Maka dari itu, dalam penelitian ini akan diteliti pengaruh pemberian suplemen zat besi dalam peningkatan kadar Hemoglobin (Hb) pada ibu hamil anemia. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pre experimental dengan tipe one group pretest posttest yang dilakukan dengan mengukur kadar hb sebelum dan sesudah pemberian suplemen zat besi. Sampel yang digunakan adalah ibu hamil anemia di puskesmas kota Bengkulu. Data hasil penelitian di analisis menggunakan uji t-test pada aplikasi spss untuk melihat perbedaan yang signifikan kadar Hb pre dan post pemberian suplemen zat besi. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan p-vlue 0,001 (<0,05) yang berarti adanya perbedaan yang signifikan. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pemberian suplemen zat besi dapat meningkatkan kadar Hb pada ibu hamil yang mengalami anemia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 56 ibu hamil, 35 di antaranya mengalami anemia. Kadar Hb sebelum dan sesudah pemberian suplemen zat besi tercatat masing-masing sebesar 10,03 g/dl dan 12,85 g/dl. Kadar Hemoglobin (Hb) pada ibu hamil yang mengalami anemia sebelum pemberian suplemen zat besi menunjukkan angka yang lebih rendah, dengan rata-rata 10,03g/dl. Setelah pemberian suplemen zat besi, kadar Hb pada ibu hamil dengan anemia mengalami peningkatan, dengan rata rata 12,85 g/dl.

Abstract

The use of pesticides in large doses and carried out continuously in each planting season will cause several losses, including pesticide residues that will accumulate in agricultural products and waters, pollution of the agricultural environment, decreased productivity, poisoning of animals, poisoning of humans which has an impact bad for their health. To overcome or reduce the negative impact of these pesticides, an alternative control method that can be used is to use natural pesticides. Natural pesticides are an alternative that can be used to overcome the shortcomings of chemical pesticides. The aim of carrying out this community service activity is to provide knowledge and skills to the people of Taba Air Pauh Village, Tebat Karai District, Kepahiang Regency regarding the use of natural ingredients such as garlic and papaya leaves as natural pesticide ingredients. The method applied in community service activities was socialization and training on pesticides from papaya leaves and garlic. Based on the results of community service activities regarding training in making vegetable pesticides from papaya leaves and garlic, the people of Taba Air Pauh Village, Tebat Karai District, Kepahiang Regency have learned about the dangers of long-term use of chemical pesticides and obtained information regarding other alternative materials for using chemical pesticides by utilizing natural materials around Taba Air Pauh Village.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi dan pengetahuan tentang penggunaan aplikasi ChemBio Office dan ChemSketch untuk menunjang pembelajaran kimia di Madrasah Aliyah Al Hasanah Bengkulu Tengah. Kegiatan diawali dengan penyampaian materi dan pemberian informasi tentang aplikasi dengan metode ceramah. Disamping penyampaian informasi, metode ceramah ini juga dimaksudkan memberikan motivasi kepada peserta untuk berfikir kritis tentang penggunaan aplikasi chem-bio-office dan ChemSketch dalam proses belajar dan mengajar. Metode diskusi digunakan sebagai media komunikasi saat pelatihan berlangsung sehingga terjadi komunikasi dua arah antara pemateri dan peserta pelatihan. Setelah informasi tersampaikan, kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan instalasi aplikasi dengan bantuan pemateri. Setelah instalasi aplikasi selesai, dilanjutkan dengan demonstrasi melalui pemberian contoh dalam pengguaan aplikasi chem-bio-office dan ChemSketch oleh pemateri. Setelah demonstrasi selesai, peserta diperkenankan untuk melakukan praktik langsung penggunaan aplikasi chem-bio-office dan ChemSketch tentunya dengan bimbingan pemateri. Kegiatan ini dapat diikuti dengan baik oleh peserta dan tingkat antusias peserta cukup tinggi yang ditunjukkan bahwa hampir semua anggota pelatihan mencoba dan memahami seluruh rangkaian proses pelatihan.

Abstract

Mosquitoes are often considered to disrupt human life. Various efforts are used to reduce the mosquito population, including using anti-mosquito spray. The anti-mosquito spray that is usually used is chemical-based. This is due to the public's lack of knowledge about the use of plants around them, such as citronella, to be used as an anti-mosquito spray. Therefore, activities were carried out aimed at increasing public understanding about the use of anti-mosquito spray, with a focus on plants around them, such as citronella which can be processed into useful ingredients. Through this outreach, we can provide useful information to the public, making them aware that citronella not only functions as a kitchen spice, but also as an ingredient in making an easy-to-make anti-mosquito spray. This research uses descriptive methods because it involves very specific experiments and research. This work program focuses on outreach and training to the community, from teenagers to adults, regarding the use of anti-mosquito spray from citronella. This activity consists of a preparation stage and an implementation stage. Based on the results of community service in Taba Air Pauh village showed high enthusiasm from the community and had a positive impact on increasing knowledge about the dangers of mosquitoes, chemicals, and making mosquito repellent liquid.
