Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the validity of the module based on Problem Based Research (PBR) on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution material. This research is a descriptive qualitative research to assess and obtain chemical modules on electrolyte solution and non-electrolyte material based on Problem Based Research (PBR). Module development in this study follows the three stages of the ADDIE model, namely, the analysis stage (Analyze), the design stage (Design), and the development stage (Development). Data obtained using questionnaires. The results of the expert lecturer validation showed that the module is valid with a percentage of 81.5%. The results of the expert validity test showed a validity percentage of 92.5%. Furthermore, the group trial was limited to 10 students, the responses were obtained that the aspects of language, readability, and appearance of the module were very good. These results indicate that the Problem Based Research (PBR) -based module on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution material is developed valid to be continued at the implementation stage, and evaluation.

Abstract

Characteristics of electrochemical material that contains abstract concepts. Hence often have difficulty in teaching it. An effective approach as a solution is the SAVI-based interactive learning approach of interactive simulation. Learning SAVI-based interactive media has an animation program that is able to represent abstract concepts in electrochemical materials through visualization and not illustration of the concept in narrative. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of SAVI learning approach to students' critical thinking skill in electrochemical material. The type of research used is quasi-experimental research. The research design used is posttest only control group design. The sample was divided into two groups: experiment and control group. The research instrument uses critical thinking skill test through rubric. The results show that the SAVI approach has a positive effect on critical thinking skills compared to conventional methods. We conclude that the SAVI learning approach has been able to improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The implementation of Case-Based learning in chemistry learning has grown rapidly in the last ten years. To find trends and issues in the application of case-based learning in chemistry learning, a systematic review is needed. This study aims to analyze the types of CBL and forms of CBL cases used in chemistry learning. The research method used is a systematic review of articles published in the Scopus journal obtained from the Scopus database for the last 10 years (2011-2021). Search articles using titles, abstracts, or keywords that meet logical conditions (“Case-Based Learning”) or (“Case Method”) and (“Chemistry”). The population of this study was 200 articles published in the Scopus database and the sample used was 93 articles. The findings showed that the CBL learning model has a learning syntax that includes four (4) stages, namely: Case Orientation (determining the object to be tested), Peer Instructions (choosing cases that are relevant to the object being studied), Case Review (building initial theory and reviewing literature), Evaluation (collecting, organizing data, analyzing data and developing conclusions). The CBL model presents complex cases in the form of factual news related to the essence of the problem context in the form of story descriptions and integrates information sources in the context to solve cases. The percentages of the 93 articles analyzed were 32% PBI, 31% PBL, and 30% PJBL. Thus, it can be concluded that CBL learning is implemented in three (3) learning approaches, namely CBL in Inquiry-Based Learning, CBL in Problem Based Learning, and CBL in Project-Based Learning

Abstract

This study aims to produce and determine the feasibility of interactive multimedia salt hydrolysis to grow students' information literacy skills. This research is a development research which includes 10 stages of implementation, namely potential and problems, collecting information, product design, design validation, design revision, product trial, product revision, usage trial, product revision, and bulk product. However, this study only reached the stage of product revision. The interactive multimedia produced was then validated by 2 expert lecturers in the field of chemistry education, and for practitioner tests by 1 chemistry teacher and then a limited group trial was carried out involving 15 students of SMA Negeri 1 Batulayar. Based on the assessment of two lecturers as validators getting an average of 91,2% with a very decent category, the practitioner test results got a percentage of 94.3% with a very decent category, and the results of a limited group trial by 15 students got an average percentage of assessments for ease, readability, display, material, and motivation of 88.6% with good categories. So it can be concluded that the product of interactive multimedia development of salt hydrolysis has met the feasibility aspect and this medium can be used in learning on salt hydrolysis material.

Abstract

The main problems and obstacles faced by water spinach farmers in the Lingsar area are the limited knowledge of farmers in recognizing vegetable market behavior so that farmers rely heavily on traders or collectors in the Lingsar area, inefficient marketing, and skills to develop kale vegetable products into products. Processed products that have a longer shelf life, have economic value, and have quality and properties as food supplements are not yet known by the farming community in the Lingsar area, even though the ingredients of kale are a source of vegetable protein and fiber which are beneficial for body metabolism. This service activity aims to increase understanding of kale farmers in the processed products of kale into kale noodles. This service activity has been carried out for 1 month. The methods of this service include: delivery of material, direct training and practice. Delivery of material about the introduction of chemical composition, nutritional content and functional food elements (added value) in kale. Training and hands-on practice in making kale noodles as an innovative product of kale vegetables to train the skills of kale farmers in Lingsar District, West Lombok Regency. Based on the evaluation results after the training, it showed that most of the participants gained new understanding and knowledge about making noodles, especially the addition of water spinach as an added ingredient in vegetable protein. So, it can be concluded that training in making kale noodles can increase understanding of kale farmers in processing kale products.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan modul digital pada materi struktur atom yang dapat menumbuhkan literasi digital siswa. Penelitian ini termasuk ke dalam jenis penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model menggunakan pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket validasi ahli dan angket respon siswa selama penggunaan modul digital yang dikembangkan.  Subjek uji yaitu siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Sakra Lombok Timur NTB. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket validasi ahli dan angket respon siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa modul digital yang telah dikembangkan menggunakan kvisoft flipbook pada materi struktur atom diperoleh persentase kelayakan sebesar 86 dengan kategori layak dan uji kepraktisan terhadap penggunaan modul digital memberikan respon positif dalam menumbuhkan literasi digital siswa. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul digital pada materi struktur atom layak digunakan untuk menumbuhkan literasi digital siswa.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang dihadapi petani jagung di wilayah Labuapi adalah mereka belum terbiasa dengan teknik pengolahan jagung, karena upaya untuk memberikan nilai tambah pada produk jagung dan minat masyarakat terhadap pangan berbahan dasar jagung masih rendah. Alasannya antara lain kurangnya pengetahuan  tentang nilai gizi jagung, tampilan makanan berbahan jagung yang tidak menarik, dan adanya anggapan bahwa  hanya  masyarakat ekonomi lemah yang boleh mengonsumsi jagung. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah produk jagung dengan memanfaatkan teknologi produksi dodol jagung yang hemat biaya dan mudah digunakan oleh petani jagung. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan selama satu bulan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2022 dengan melibatkan mitra dari tiga desa yakni Desa Telagawaru, Desa Gubuq Aida dan Desa Paok Kambut. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode workshop berupa pelatihan dan pendampingan. Kegiatan yang  dilakukan antara lain: persiapan, pelatihan dan pendampingan  langsung  tahapan produksi produk olahan jagung berupa dodol jagung. Berdasarkan hasil pelatihan yang dilakukan diperoleh skor pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat (petani jagung) desa Telagawaru sebesar 80%, desa  Gubuq Aida sebesar 84% dan desa Paok Kambut sebesar 78% dengan kategori baik dan kompeten, sedangkan hasil uji organoleptik dodol jagung pada ketiga desa secara keseluruhan berada pada kategori layak dikonsumsi dan disukai  disukai masyarakat. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan produksi dodol jagung dapat dijadikan salah satu alternatif untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah  pasca panen jagung. Community Empowerment through Post-Harvest Corn Dodol Making Training in Labuapi, West Lombok The problem faced by corn farmers in the Labuapi area is that they are not familiar with corn processing techniques, because efforts to provide added value to corn products and public interest in corn-based food are still low. The reasons include lack of knowledge about the nutritional value of corn, the appearance of unattractive corn-based foods, and the assumption that only economically weak people should consume corn. This service activity aims to increase the added value of corn products by utilizing corn dodol production technology that is cost-effective and easy to use by corn farmers. This service activity was carried out for one month in the even semester of the 2022 academic year by involving partners from three villages, namely Telagawaru Village, Gubuq Aida Village and Paok Kambut Village. The method used is a workshop method in the form of training and mentoring. Based on the results of the training conducted, the score of understanding and skills of the community (corn farmers) of Telagawaru village was 80%, Gubuq Aida village was 84% and Paok Kambut village was 78% in the good and competent category, while the results of the corn dodol organoleptic test in the three villages as a whole were in the category of suitable for consumption and liked by the community. Thus, it can be concluded that corn dodol production training activities can be used as an alternative to increase the added value of corn post-harvest.

Abstract

Sekolah SMKN 3 Mataram berada di wilayah Mataram. Lokasi sekolah terletak di Kecamatan Mataram, Kabupaten Mataram. Sekolah ini memiliki cukup banyak torehan prestasi di skala kabupaten maupun nasional. Namun, sebagian besar para guru jarang terlibat dalam kegiatan-kegiatan ilmiah yang dilakukan oleh Perguruan Tinggi. Sebagai dampaknya pengetahuan dan pemahaman para guru di sekolah ini masih kurang terkait dengan pembuatan media pembelajaran interaktif ataupun inovasi-inovasi kegiatan pembelajaran lainnya. Tujuan pelaksanaan program PKM ini adalah: a) meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru tentang pembuatan media interaktif berbasis canva, b) melatih guru membuat media interaktif berbasis canva, c) melatih dan mendampingi cara penggunaan media interaktif berbasis canva dalam pembelajaran kimia di kelas. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan yang akan dilakukan menggadopsi pola pelaksanaan penelitian tindakan meliputi empat tahap yaitu: 1) tahap perencanaan program dengan membentuk kelompok guru berdasarkan mata pelajaran, 2) tahap tindakan dengan memberikan pelatihan pembuatan media interaktif berbasis canva serta melatih dan mendampingi cara penggunaan media interaktif berbasis canva dalam pembelajaran kimia di kelas, 3) tahap observasi dan evaluasi yakni observasi dilakukan untuk mengetahui kendala-kendala, kekurangan-kekurangan, dan kelemahan-kelemahan yang muncul dalam proses pembuatan dan penggunaan media interaktif berbasis canva dalam pembelajaran kimia di kelas, sedangkan evaluasi dilakukan untuk mengetahui sejauhmana keberhasilan produk yang dihasilkan, 4) tahap refleksi dilakukan untuk mengetahui kegiatan yang telah dilaksanakan. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi dari kegiatan pelatihan yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa 20 peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan hanya 15 media interaktif yang dihasilkan sedangkan sisanya 5 media interaktif masih dilakukan proses perbaikan sesuai dengan saran dari tim pengabdi. Pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta setelah kegiatan praktik dan pendampingan langsung dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran interaktif sangat bagus yakni sebesar 100% pseserta sudah mengetahui media canva dan 90% peserta sudah mencoba menggunakan media canva dalam membuat media pembelajaran interaktif. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan PKM ini memberikan kebermanfaatan bagi peserta pelatihan baik dari segi pengetahuan maupun keterampilan dalam menghasilkan media interaktif sehingga secara tidak langsung mampu menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang menarik dan menyenangkan bagi siswa. Teacher Competency Improvement Through Canva-Based Interactive Media Creation Training  Abstract SMKN 3 Mataram School is located in the Mataram area. The location of the school is located in Mataram District, Mataram Regency. This school has quite some achievements at the district and national scale. However, most teachers are rarely involved in scientific activities carried out by universities. As a result, the knowledge and understanding of teachers in this school are still not related to creating interactive learning media or other learning activity innovations. The objectives of this PKM program are: a) improving teachers' knowledge and skills about making Canva-based interactive media, b) training teachers to make Canva-based interactive media and c) training and assisting how to use Canva-based interactive media in chemistry learning in the classroom. The method of implementing the activities that will be carried out adopts the pattern of implementing action research includes four stages, namely: 1) the program planning stage by forming teacher groups based on subjects, 2) the action stage by providing training on making Canva-based interactive media and training and assisting how to use Canva-based interactive media in chemistry learning in the classroom, 3) the observation and evaluation stage, namely observations are carried out to find out Obstacles, shortcomings, and weaknesses that arise in the process of making and using Canva-based interactive media in chemistry learning in the classroom, while the evaluation is carried out to find out the extent of the success of the product produced, 4) the reflection stage is carried out to find out the activities that have been carried out. Based on the results of the evaluation of the training activities that have been carried out, it shows that of the 20 participants who took part in the training activities only 15 interactive media were produced while the remaining 5 interactive media are still in the process of being improved according to the advice of the service team. The understanding and skills of participants after practical activities and direct assistance in making interactive learning media are very good, namely 100% of participants already know Canva media and 90% of participants have tried using Canva media in making interactive learning media. Thus, it can be concluded that this PKM activity provides benefits for trainees both in terms of knowledge and skills in producing interactive media so that it is indirectly able to create an interesting and fun learning atmosphere for students.

Abstract

Permasalahan dan kendala utama yang dihadapi oleh guru-guru TK ABA se-kota Mataram adalah tidak tersedianya media pembelajaran inovatif, keterbatasan pengetahuan tentang teknologi pembuatan media pembelajaran inovatif. Kegiatan PKM bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru-guru TK ABA se-kota Mataram dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran inovatif berbasis canva. Kegiatan PKM ini dilakukan selama 8 bulan pada tahun akademik 2023/2024. Metode pelaksanaan PKM menggunakan metode presentasi yang diterapkan dalam pengenalan aplikasi, kemanfaataannya, dan penerapannya dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran inovatif. Metode demonstrasi mengenai pengoperasionalisasian aplikasi canva sedangkan metode praktik dimana guru-guru mempraktikkan secara langsung pembuatan media pembelajaran sesuai materi masing-masing yang diajarkan sampai menghasilkan produk berupa media pembelajaran inovatif berbasis canva. Berdasarkan hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa semua peserta mampu membuat media pembelajaran inovatif menggunakan aplikasi canva. Hal ini dikarenakan terjadi transfer knowledge tentang pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam membuat media pembelajaran inovatif menggunakan aplikasi canva yang merupakan salah satu aplikasi pendukung dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran inovatif. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran inovatif yang dibuat menggunakan aplikasi canva dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif bagi para guru TK ABA se-kota Mataram dalam memilih aplikasi pendukung pembelajaran untuk anak usia dini sehingga kegiatan pembelajaran dapat berjalan dengan baik.  Increasing the Competence of ABA Kindergarten Teachers in Mataram City through Training on Making Innovative Learning Media-based Canva  The main problems and obstacles faced by ABA kindergarten teachers in Mataram are the unavailability of innovative learning media and limited knowledge about the technology of making innovative learning media. PKM activities aim to improve the understanding and skills of ABA kindergarten teachers throughout the city of Mataram in making innovative Canva-based learning media. This PKM activity is carried out for 8 months in the 2023/2024 academic year. The PKM implementation method uses presentation methods applied in the introduction of applications, their usefulness, and their application in making innovative learning media. The demonstration method is regarding the operationalisation of the Canva application while the practice method is where teachers practice directly making learning media according to their respective materials taught to produce products in the form of innovative Canva-based learning media. Based on the findings, show that all participants can create innovative learning media using the Canva application. This is because there is a transfer of knowledge about understanding and skills in making innovative learning media using the Canva application which is one of the supporting applications in making innovative learning media. Thus, it can be concluded that innovative learning media created using the Canva application can be an alternative for ABA kindergarten teachers throughout the city of Mataram in choosing learning support applications for early childhood so that learning activities can run well.

Abstract

The low chemical literacy of students is caused by the lack of involvement of the socio-cultural environment in chemistry learning. Ethnochemistry is an exciting learning approach today because it can catalyze chemical literacy in chemistry education in the twenty-first century. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of ethnochemistry using e-modules in improving students' chemical literacy competency. The research method used is quasi-experimental. The research subject is the chemistry education study program at two universities in West Nusa Tenggara. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling to select the research sample. The sample consisted of two classes, namely class IIA (totaling 100 students), which served as the experimental group, and class IIB (which also consisted of 100 students), which served as the control group. Data collection was carried out using a chemical literacy essay test. Statistical tests, including the ANOVA and N-Gain, were used to evaluate students' chemical literacy. The results showed that 1) ethnochemistry-based e-modules have a significant effect on chemical literacy; 2) The use of e-modules in ethnochemistry can improve students' chemical literacy, especially in solving environmental problems. Thus, this research contributes to integrating E-module content with hybrid-based ethnochemistry as a 21st-century learning innovation. The implication of this study is that students' chemical literacy can be improved through ethnochemistry-based e-modules.
