Abstract

The introduction of Indonesian culture is carried out through an understanding of ethnicity, art, language, and customs. This cultural sharing is considered effective as a means to promote the nation's culture and increase understanding between nations as a bridge to improve cross-cultural understanding and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. By introducing Indonesia's cultural diversity to the Thai people, it is hoped that it can increase understanding of the importance of culture as a form of national identity and maintain social harmony. By using the observation approach, sharing season, and presentation to identify the impact of the introduction of Indonesian culture on the perception of Thai society, with the main focus on cultural understanding, we can establish international cooperation. This study shows that this cultural introduction initiative can enrich Indonesia's cultural insights in the Thailand community, especially in Thai Global Business Administration Technological College (TGBC), as well as make them aware of the importance of culture as a national asset that must be preserved and appreciated. This can open up opportunities for cooperation in academic and non-academic fields, which will later create a closer and mutually beneficial relationship between the two countries.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology has significantly influenced the financial sector, driving the digitalization of banking, especially post-COVID-19. This study analyzes banking efficiency in Indonesia, the United States (US), and China from 2019–2023 using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. Results reveal that US banks maintain the highest and most stable efficiency (average 0.99), followed by China with a positive trend (average 0.98), and Indonesia with stable but slightly lower efficiency (average 0.97). Key findings highlight US efficiency stability, China’s upward trend, and Indonesia’s credit risk management challenges. Recommendations include enhancing risk management in Indonesia, sustaining efficiency in the US, and improving cost efficiency in China.

Abstract

The 2008/2009 crisis events that had a domino effect throughout the world had a devastating impact on the global economy, including Indonesia. This crisis highlighted the importance of establishing policies that are able to mitigate systemic risk. Macroprudential policies are increasingly encouraged by policy makers, especially by Bank Indonesia. With changes in the policy ratio limits set by Bank Indonesia from year to year, this study will further examine the effect of macroprudential policy instruments on banking systemic risk in Indonesia for the 2019-2023 period. This study will use a quantitative approach with a sample of KBMI IV and KBMI III banks. With the model used, namely the Fixed Effect Model, the results show that the LTV and RIM variables negatively affect systemic risk, but the PLM variable positively affects systemic risk.

Abstract

Increasing financial literacy and the use of information technology can make a positive contribution to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in terms of improving performance and ensuring business sustainability. Financial literacy helps MSME owners monitor their financial performance periodically, while information technology can be used to expand marketing reach and reach more consumers. Community service carried out by the S1 Economics Study Program of Surabaya State University (UNESA) in Ponokawan Village, Krian District, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, aims to improve MSME financial literacy. This community service activity is carried out by providing training and assistance to MSMEs in Ponokawan Village. After going through this program, MSME owners in Ponokawan Village now have a better understanding of marketing using information technology through social media. They are also able to do bookkeeping more effectively, allowing them to monitor the financial performance of their business more accurately.

Abstract

This research analyzes the impact of NPL (Non-Performing Loans), LDR (Loans to Deposits Ratio), and BOPO (Operating Expenses to Operating Income) on ROA (Return on Assets) in commercial banks in Indonesia during 2019-2023. Using secondary data from financial reports of banks registered on the IDX, multiple regression analysis was carried out using Eviews 12. Purposive sampling technique was used to select six banks that met the criteria, so that the total sample consisted of 30 banks. The research results show that NPLs have a significant negative impact on ROA, reducing bank profitability. LDR and BOPO do not significantly affect ROA, indicating that credit effectiveness and operational efficiency do not directly affect profitability. CAR is also not significant to ROA, possibly due to the absence of profitable capital utilization. Overall, credit risk management and asset quality influence profitability more than operational efficiency and use of funds

Abstract

Profitability is one of the most appropriate indicators to measure the financial performance of a bank. This study aims to analyze the effect of bank financial ratios on profitability in non-foreign exchange commercial banks for the 2019-2023 period. The sample of this research is 4 (four) non-foreign exchange commercial banks in Indonesia, with the data analysis method used, namely the panel data regression model with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach. The results showed that the financial ratio NIM has a significant influence and has a positive direction on bank ROA. BOPO financial ratio has a significant influence and has a negative direction on bank ROA. CAR financial ratio has an insignificant influence and has a positive direction on bank ROA.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efficiency of risk management implementation on the financial performance of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. The input variables used are Non-Performing Loan (NPL), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), and Operating Expenses to Operating Income (BOPO), while the output variables include Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE). The research findings indicate that perfect technical efficiency (VRSTE = 1.000) was achieved every year during the study period (2019–2023), while full efficiency (CRSTE = 1.000) was only achieved in 2019, 2022, and 2023. In 2020 and 2021, scale efficiency was low, with an average CRSTE over five years of 0.776, indicating that BNI has not fully achieved optimal efficiency in its risk management. The study concludes by emphasizing the need to improve scale efficiency, particularly in certain years, to achieve more optimal financial performance.

Abstract

The banking sector plays a crucial role in Indonesia's economy, making it essential to investigate factors influencing banking stock prices. This study aims to analyze the impact of Bitcoin prices, gold prices, and BI Rate on banking stock prices listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from January 2022 to November 2024. The research employs a quantitative approach using panel data regression with a Random Effect Model (REM). The data used are secondary data sourced from Investing.com. The results indicate that Bitcoin prices and BI Rate have a positive and significant impact on banking stock prices, while gold prices show no significant effect. This implies that Bitcoin, as an alternative digital asset, increasingly affects financial market dynamics, whereas gold is more of a safe-haven asset with no direct correlation to banking stocks. The rising BI Rate reflects the positive performance of banking firms, thereby attracting investors' interest. This study provides insights into the roles of alternative investment instruments and monetary policy in shaping the dynamics of banking stock markets.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the Fed’s monetary policy relationship as measured using the Monetary Policy Uncertainty (MPU) index, Consumer Price Index, Commodity Exports, and Exchange Rates on GDP on its Causality to Indonesia’s GDP Deflator. This research uses a quantitative approach with quarterly time series data from 2000 to 2023. The data is secondary from the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED). In addition, Granger Causality analysis was used to analyze the causality between variables. The results show that there is no bidirectional causality between variables. However, there is only unidirectional causality especially the MPU Index to the GDP Deflator and Export Commodity to the GDP Deflator.
